This week, Annie joins the podcast and is talking to Toby Whitehouse. Toby is the co-founder and station director of Gaydio, the UK’s LGBT+ radio station. Formed in Manchester in 2006, initially as a pop-up station for Manchester Pride, Gaydio has gone on to become the UK’s first ever FM radio station especially for LGBT+ people - with a weekly audience of over half a million people. www.gaydio.co.uk

Gaydio is a global phenomenon - the biggest LGBT radio station in the world! I got to spend an amazing hour with the big honcho of the station, Toby Whitehouse, to find out about the station and also tons more about HIM!
Toby Whitehouse travels to Nashville, Tennessee for the Bingham Cup 2016. Following English teams including Manchester Village Spartans and London Kings Cross Steelers. Features interviews with Sam Stanley, the first pro rugby union player to come out whilst still in the game, plus out world cup final referee Nigel Owens (http://mn2s.com/booking-agency/talent-roster/nigel-owens/)
"Before the Flood" left Warren baffled and Steven and Chris intrigued, but what else did your three hosts think of the second episode of Toby Whitehouse’s brain-twisting two-parter? Did the paradoxes and guitar solos excite or infuriate them? More to the point, what developments in both LEGO, Big Finish audios and increasingly pointless DVD covers caught their eye? WHAT I ASK YOU!? Listen, and find out! Check out the show notes at http://www.radiofreeskaro.com
A few weeks ago, on 18th June 2010, a brand new radio station took to the air. Gaydio, based in Manchester, is an FM station aimed at and run by Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans People. It's not the world's first such station. There are established FM stations in Australia and Toronto, for instance plus a host of internet stations Unlike many, Gaydio is not simply a music station though; it's aimed at a wider than usual audience, and has a community development dimension too. To find out more I spoke to one of the founding directors, Toby Whitehouse, at the studios in central Manchester. You can listen to the station online at http://www.gaydio.co.uk
