One out of three people who engage in alcohol use or overuse are at significant risk of destroying their lives and losing their livelihood, regardless of their background. This silent problem is rarely discussed, and most people refuse to address it until it becomes severe. For most of my life, everything has been a blur due to alcoholism. I am determined to stay sober and help others suffering from the same disease find a new life. Purpose: My purpose in life is to help others live a better life, filled with purpose, and to help them become the best versions of themselves so they can live the best version of themselves. This week's episode of The Concierge Coaches Show features Bruce and Wayne with special guests Jamie Mcgibbin and Dustin Weaver. Jamie is currently in recovery. She also comes from the world of business marketing. Through her history with healing, she became involved with specialty courts and DWI courts. This eventually led her to start a nonprofit organization called, “Life Giving Life.” Both Dustin and Jamie hope to start another group called, “Restoration Recovery group.” The goal is to help the entire person and help clients with the trials of life. Not only do they have in-person sessions, they also offer virtual meetings for those seeking sobriety. Later in the program, Wayne asks about the business and accountability side of the services provided. Jamie explains how they make revenue and the techniques used to help hold the clients accountable. Another aspect of the program is that they offer multiple avenues of help, for example, the participants are welcome to join AA groups or do whatever helps long-term success. Jamie and Dustin also want their clients to embrace their own recovery and not its white knuckle their way through. Later Dustin explains the long-term goals for the practice. His plan is to start a sober awareness run called “Texas 1000”. This will spread across all of Texas and have life coaching mixed in with physical fitness and goals for participants to pursue and achieve. DUSTIN WEAVER & #CenUniOctFlashMobDustin illustrated the NY Times bestselling novel The Tenth Circle, had a fruitful relationship with Dark Horse Comics where he made significant contributions to the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic series, and worked for several years exclusively at Marvel where, most notably, he co-created the acclaimed series S.H.I.E.L.D: Architects of Forever with writer Jonathan Hickman. In recent years, Dustin has moved into the writing side of comics. He helped define IDW's approach to Rocksteady and Bebop in their Ninja Turtles comics by co-writing the duo's introductory issue and the mini-series Bebop and Rocksteady Destroy Everything! Please welcome Dustin Weaver to the party floor! Dustin is the co-creator of the recent S.H.I.E.L.D. series with writer Jonathan Hickman, and writer/artist on multiple other Marvel comics, as well as some stints on TMNT & Star Wars properties. We definitely talk about all of that stuff, and do a deep dive on his time at Marvel in particular. Mike & Zack have a lot of questions about how the sausage gets made! But the main reason we're here is to talk about his recent one-man anthology at Image Comics, Paklis. Standing relatively apart from the mainstream comics world where he made his mark, Weaver took his name recognition to Image to pursue more personal material. Dream comics sit side-by-side with space opera and surrealist experiments, and rough hewn sketchiness gives way to meticulous sci-fi set pieces, often in the space of a single page. Please welcome Dustin Weaver to the party floor! Dustin is the co-creator of the recent S.H.I.E.L.D. series with writer Jonathan Hickman, and writer/artist on multiple other Marvel comics, as well as some stints on TMNT & Star Wars properties. We definitely talk about all of that stuff, and do a deep dive on his time at Marvel in particular. Mike & Zack have a lot of questions about how the sausage gets made! But the main reason we're here is to talk about his recent one-man anthology at Image Comics, Paklis. Standing relatively apart from the mainstream comics world where he made his mark, Weaver took his name recognition to Image to pursue more personal material. Dream comics sit side-by-side with space opera and surrealist experiments, and rough hewn sketchiness gives way to meticulous sci-fi set pieces, often in the space of a single page.
