Dave Stevens : un illustrateur de talent entre comics, animation et cinémaAvant de créer The Rocketeer, Dave Stevens fait ses débuts dans l'industrie du comics en travaillant comme encreur pour Russ Manning sur les adaptations de Tarzan et Star Wars en comic strips. Il rejoint ensuite le monde de l'animation en collaborant avec Hanna-Barbera sur des séries comme Super Friends et The Godzilla Power Hour. We're breaking into the main Avengers title to discuss a 12 issue mini-series from 1999 where Kurt Busiek rewrites Avengers history and also throws in a huge time travel plot to boot!  We meet our....slightly different Avengers team in these issues, plucked from multiple points in Avengers history, as well as our villain and a former villain who becomes an ally (I'm sorry, three former villains that becomes allies)!

It's time to go back to Fairyland! We loved the first volume of Skottie Young's I Hate Fairyland when we read it back in 2020, so we thought we'd check out volume 2. Will the art still manage to simultaneously be cute and grotesque? You know it! Also, we begin our next long read with Thunderbolts #1 by Kurt Busiek and Mark Bagley, with villains posing as heroes. Set in the real world, SECRET IDENTITY examines the life of a young Kansas man with the unfortunate name of Clark Kent. All Clark wants is to be a writer, but his daily life is filled with the taunts and jibes of his peers, comparing him to that other Clark Kent -- the one with super-powers. Until one day when Clark awakens to discover that he can fly...that he does in fact have super-strength! But where did these powers come from? And what's he going to do about it? Superman: Secret Identity is a four-issue mini-series written by Kurt Busiek and illustrated by Stuart Immonen. It was first published monthly, starting January 2004. The title was not released under the Elseworlds banner, but is regarded as a non-canonical story. The story describes the life of Clark Kent, a man in a world in which superheroes exist only as characters in comics, who suddenly gains the powers of Superman and embarks on a super-heroic career, but keeps his existence secret from the world at large.
