This series is so fresh and original, what was the bud of the idea that inspired it?5 crosstalkCan you talk a little about the personalities of our three pet protagonists? Grant Morrison, Frank Quitely and Jamie Grant's We3 immediately comes to mind when we see animals in cyber suits, was that iconic series on your mind at all while scripting and drawing the series?Jesse, Hedra is one of my favorite comics of all time, the layout design is insanely impressive. How do you approach layout design, and more specifically, approach it with Man's Best?I freaking love the title, but I'm always curious, were there other titles you were workshopping? We'd be remiss not to ask, do you have pets and if so, what are they and their names?!Pornsak, you've said this is the most personal book you've written to date, could you elaborate? If Man's Best was a song, what would it be and why?Do you have any projects in the works?

I can't help but see some parallels! How did your work on that series about a girl gang with a badass lead vocalist prepare you for Birds of Prey? With a few issues under your belt at this point, I'm sure, is there a character that floats to the top of most fun to write? Follow up, who is a character that surprises you the most?We all know Leonardo Romero and Jordie Bellaire are gosh darn gifts to the comics community. Were there particular visual moments that impressed you or surprised you in the first issue or two that you'd like to shout out?Something that always impresses me is your dialogue, particularly with groups! I've come to learn after interviewing different writers the approach to writing good dialogue can be different. Is there a particular technique you use in writing dialogue, or feeling out how different characters will approach one another? We're greatly enjoying Black Cloak at AIPT, which presents a fully realized new world. How do you approach worldbuilding? Is there a Black Cloak Bible? (Folks should definitely check out the finale next week.)You also have The Cull coming out from Image Comics on August 16th, described as horrifying and delightful with a group even the press release calls reminiscent of the Goonies. When creating an entirely new friend group, how do you go about crafting their personalities and making them a unit, but separate?Anything else you'd like to promote today? Where can people find you?

And if that wasn’t enough, Marvel Talent Relations Coordinator Emily Newcomen guest co-hosts! Emily draws from a wealth of Marvel experience, a degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology, and weekly Marvel #BestDressed posts on Twitter, lending some valuable expertise to this week’s show.
