Uncomfortable People 2
We are in full swing in the Holiday Season and I've noticed that a lot of people dread this time because they will be asked a lot of questions and will be judged by the things they do or don't do. I once dreaded those conversations until... I started diverting the conversations into topics I was interested in listening or just walking away from the people I knew would ask the wrong questions for me. Join me in this episode to talk about those uncomfortable people and how we can let then go down easy.
Paddy, Tim and David take on the idea of Uncomfortable people and how we relate, and co-exist with them in church.
The church is made up of people we may not always get along with or agree with - but that's something God can use for our good. Despite our differences, the Holy Spirit unites us and works in our hearts and communities for our good and His glory.

It is the Second Sunday of Advent and we look at Isaiah 40:1-11 and Mark 1:1-8. Why does God need to comfort his people?

For Christians striving to be the Church, overcoming "people problems" and bearing with one another in love is essential.

If you ask people why they don't go to church they might explain how it's boring, or irrelevant, or that they love Jesus just fine without the mess of church. It's true, church is messy and it attracts people that can be uncomfortable. Today we dive into Uncomfortable People, how things went wrong and what we can do about it. Finally, a message for introverts, extroverts, millennials, octogenarians, Republicans and Democrats.
Donna is joined by Erik and Jon to discuss Sunday's message.

Welcome to Another Empty Conversation - a show that lets you eavesdrop on a conversation about faith and following Jesus. We talk about our faith so you can talk about yours. We're glad you could join us this week. We're half-way through our discussion on Brett McCracken’s book, “Uncomfortable: The Awkward and Essential Challenge of Christian Community.” The first half of the book has been centered around an Uncomfortable Faith. This week is the culmination of these discussions as we dive into Uncomfortable Mission. What is our mission? Many would answer the great commission, but Brett believes we are called to much more than that. Join our conversation and share your thoughts in the comments or on social media. Closing Thoughts That wraps up part 1 of the book. Join us again next week as we discuss Uncomfortable People, the first chapter in part 2 based on an Uncomfortable Church. Until then, live empty, talk faith, and opt-in to following Jesus. We'll catch you on the next episode of Another Empty Conversation. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Be sure to check us out on your favorite social network: Facebook: www.facebook.com/emptychurch/ Twitter: twitter.com/EmptyChurch Instagram: www.instagram.com/empty.church/ SoundCloud: @empty-church-1 Tumblr: empty-church.tumblr.com
