Send us a textIn this week's episode of The Public Square on the Pursuing Faith Network, Iggy and Pastor Mike sit down for one of the most requested and most sensitive conversations in the modern church: Should women be pastors? It's a topic that has sparked debates across denominations, shaped entire church cultures, and left many believers unsure about what Scripture actually teaches.Iggy approaches the subject with deep respect, acknowledging that as two men they're navigating a conversation that directly affects women all over the body of Christ. But instead of leaning on opinion or tradition, they go straight to the Word, unpacking passages that have created tension for generations while also highlighting the many powerful and essential women God used throughout the Bible. What begins as a tough question turns into a meaningful exploration of God's design, the heart behind leadership, and the unique role women have always played in the story of redemption. This is a thoughtful and honest dialogue where both hosts wrestle with Scripture, challenge assumptions, and try to understand what faithfulness looks like in the church today. Whether you agree or disagree, this conversation invites you to pause, reflect, and seek God's heart above everything else.
In this powerful message, Pastor Mike reminds us that our words carry weight and shape our lives. Drawing from Mark 11:23 and Romans 10:8, he teaches that what we confess with our mouth reflects the faith in our heart. When we speak God's Word, we align ourselves with His promises and open the door to transformation. Discover how to put your mouth where your faith is, and why your confession determines who you are and what you have in life. This message will challenge and inspire you to speak boldly, live faithfully, and declare God's truth over every situation.
Pastor Mike's study tonight is “Better,” from Proverbs 15:16–17, exploring what Scripture teaches about choosing what is truly valuable in life.
From eight team members with one vision to 700 young adults gathering every Tuesday night, this episode reveals how faith, culture, and authenticity sparked a movement across the islands. Pastor Mike Kai, along with Bekah and Elijah, breaks down what it takes to build revival from the ground up and why it's not hype, it's alignment. This week on the Pound for Pound Podcast, get a powerful, behind-the-scenes conversation about one of the most exciting spiritual movements happening in Hawaii today. What began as a small group of committed young adults has quickly multiplied into more than 700 gathering every Tuesday night across multiple campuses. In this episode, the three unpack the heart, structure, and spiritual alignment behind the revival stirring in the islands. They discuss the early days, the intentional discipleship system, the courage to have hard conversations, and how vulnerability—paired with vision—has created a culture where young adults feel seen, known, and hungry for God. Pastor Mike also dives into the importance of spiritual covering, senior leadership endorsement, and stewarding momentum without falling into hype. Bekah and Elijah share practical insights for any ministry or leader dreaming of reaching the next generation. This episode is part testimony, part blueprint, and all inspiration. ____________________________ 00:00 — Pastor Mike opens the episode, introduces the new Aloha & Amen brand, and shares about his latest book Blow Your Mind, centered on transforming your thoughts to transform your life. 01:04 — Introduction of Bekah and Elijah and the topic: the rise of Inspire Church's young adult ministry, now averaging 700 every Tuesday. 02:51 — Elijah shares how the movement has spread—mainly through social media, their Dream Team, and prioritizing discipleship, relatability, and vulnerability. 04:09 — Bekah explains that what's happening is undeniably a move of God. Other ministries have even reached out to ask what they're doing differently. Her answer: you need a strong team—you can't do it alone. 05:20 — Vision alignment: the original team of eight shared the same burning desire. They implemented discipleship, identified strengths, and embraced vulnerability—something many young adults deeply relate to. 07:49 — Elijah shares on alignment and how the core team is unified around seeing young adults transformed. 09:00 — Bekah talks about teaching every new leader Inspire Church's culture and vision. Weekly team rally happens one hour before service to keep everyone aligned. 11:25 — Bekah mentions their current team read, Undercover by John Bevere, to help leaders shepherd those under their care. 11:57 — Elijah reflects on tough early conversations that sharpened his leadership—and how Bekah excels in navigating them. 13:25 — Advice to other ministries: Build a solid team first. Use social media strategically. And pastors should publicly endorse the young adult ministry. 17:30 — The need for spiritual fathers and mothers who champion and guide young leaders. 19:11 — Pastor Mike values bringing people who already carry the fire. Shares the analogy: "It's easier to steer a moving car than push a parked one." 22:01 — Bekah shares her dream: a revival at UH Mānoa—specifically in the baseball stadium. Elijah dreams of collaborations with other churches. Three YA ministries now exist: Honolulu, Mililani, and Waikele. 28:30 — Pastor Mike notes that the greatest move of God right now is among those under 35. 30:07 — Pastor Mike recounts a conversation on strategy: it can't just be hype—people must be discipled and prepared. Elijah notes the importance of connect groups. 32:55 — Bekah explains why YA nights run from 6–9 p.m. and why they provide food: they want to meet young adults where they're at—many coming from work or traffic. 35:42 — Elijah shares the joy of seeing men attend alone and find brotherhood. 36:37 — Bekah recalls Pastor Tommy's warning: revival can be killed by selfishness, comparison, and familiarity. 40:00 — Bekah uses a "stew pot" analogy: one person bringing poison can ruin the whole pot. 42:33 — Pastor Mike reflects on the early days when he required Bekah and Elijah to be faithful in small things before entrusting them with more. 45:23 — Elijah thanks Pastor Mike for his leadership. 45:44 — Pastor Mike closes by highlighting Blow Your Mind, the new Aloha & Amen wear, the Nov. 18 webinar, and encourages listeners to like, subscribe, and check out the new Great Life Planner. _____________________________ Find leadership books, master classes, and more resources at: https://www.MikeKai.Tv Inspire Collective: Learn more about how you can be an influencer in your own communities and businesses, visit: https://www.inspirecollective.com To partner with me in bringing the word of God around the world, click here: https://raisedonors.com/poundforpoundministries/partner ———— Stay Connected! ———— Website: http://www.MikeKai.tv https://www.instagram.com/mikekai https://twitter.com/Mike_Kai https://www.linkedin.com/in/mike-kai

Jesus called the third servant “wicked and lazy” and threw him into outer darkness. Most Christians have never heard the Parable of the Talents preached like this.In this no-compromise message, Pastor Mike exposes laziness as the silent, deadly sin that robs believers of their reward and makes God angry. You'll discover:Why “I was afraid” is the #1 excuse lazy Christians still use today The direct link between laziness, poverty, and bondage (Proverbs 24:30-34) Three subtle laziness markers hiding in your life right now How work becomes worship and diligence opens doors kings can't shut The terrifying moment every believer will give an account for what we did (or didn't do) with what God gave usScriptures: Matthew 25:14-30 • Proverbs 22:29 • Colossians 3:23-24 • 1 Corinthians 10:31One day you'll hear either “Well done, good and faithful servant” …or “You wicked and lazy servant.”Which one will it be for you?Hit play. Pastor Mike continues his series on Kingdom Power
To exist as a black male in America is to be perceived as a threat, where criminality is attributed by default and violence is justified from racial bias. And as a young man, Pastor Mike McBride learned through personal experience that following Jesus does not protect you from the violence of the state. How could it, when Jesus himself was crucified by religious- and state-sponsored violence? In this episode, Pastor Mike (The Way Christian Center, Berkeley, CA) joins Mark Labberton to discuss the confluence of Black Pentecostal holiness, police brutality, gun violence prevention, Christian nationalism, political polarization, racial justice, and the urgent spiritual crisis facing the American church. From his childhood in the San Francisco neighborhood of Bayview–Hunter's Point, to the trauma of a police assault in 1999, to national leadership in Ferguson, to confronting the rise of authoritarian Christianity, Pastor Mike traces the formation of his vocation and the cost of staying faithful to Jesus in a nation shaped by anti-blackness and state-sponsored violence. His story of survival, theological awakening, moral urgency, and hopeful action is rooted in the gospel's call to respond with peaceful action against the violence of the world. Episode Highlights "What is it about this gospel that their family members, their parents trust you with the salvation of their souls, but not the safety of their bodies." "It forced me to really have a strong come to Jesus meeting about how am I being prepared to do what I was already feeling a lifeline calling of ministry while I was starting the work of justice as a first victim and crime survivor." "It is some kind of delusion for us to follow Jesus who got crucified and killed by the state and then be surprised when we get crucified by the state." "I think there was just this sensibility that was a part of our upbringing that this is what it means to be black in America." "People are being discipled into racism. People are being discipled into anti-blackness." "I hope that feeding the hungry clothing the naked healing the sick is not something that in 2025 Christians identify as some leftist socialist liberal Christianity or we've lost it." Are we owners… or stewards? In this message, Pastor Mike Peavy challenges us to examine our generosity on a scale of 1–10 and then compares it to the unmatched generosity of God. Through Scripture, we explore the mindset and motives of greed—"It's mine, I need more"—versus the heart of a true steward who declares, "God owns it all, and I exist to glorify Him." With passages from Psalms, Proverbs, Luke 12, and 1 Timothy 6, Pastor Mike reminds us that Jesus became poor so that we could become rich in grace (2 Corinthians 8:9). This episode will help you rethink ownership, contentment, and what it means to live generously for the Kingdom. Tune in and take the generosity test.
In this week's message, Pastor Mike Jurek shares from Core Value 3: There should be no lonely Christians. God's design for the Church is for us to walk together in unity, friendship, and forgiveness. When we give more than we take — in kindness, attention, and grace — we build a community that shines with God's love. This isn't about church programs; it's about people living out the heart of Christ every day. In this message, Pastor Mike Stevens shares about one of the core values of our church: There should be no lonely Christians. Following Jesus means learning to give more than we take in our relationships — showing kindness, forgiveness, and genuine friendship. When we all “row together” with love and grace, the Church becomes what God intended it to be: a family that reflects His heart to the world. We're reminded that fellowship isn't about programs or Sunday services — it's about living out God's love daily, being good friends, and forgiving one another as Christ forgave us. How can a good God allow suffering and evil in the world? Pastor Mike confronts that very objection, diving into the painful realities many face daily, from personal loss to global tragedies. But while it can feel overwhelming, Pastor Mike encourages a fresh perspective: Perhaps your struggles could lead to deeper faith and understanding.
In week four of The Book of Nehemiah Series, Pastor Mike challenges the church to be true Kingdom Builders who stand up for what's right, defend those being mistreated, and build every part of their lives around God's Word. Nehemiah's example shows how godly leaders confront injustice, lead with integrity, and choose generosity and sacrifice over personal privilege. The message concludes with a call for us, as believers, to live intentionally, give faithfully, and prayerfully pursue one more person who needs Jesus and His church.

Pastor Mike Overstreet continues our "SELLING JESUS" series where we're exploring what healthy, holistic evangelism looks like in our modern world!
This week Pastor Mike explores the tension right at the centre of John's Gospel: Jesus' radical claim that we find life by dying to ourselves. This tricky and prone to misunderstanding teaching is central to the life-giving truth of Christ.
In our spiritual war, it's not just important to know the gospel—but to share it. But for many of us, fear keeps us silent. What if we say the wrong thing? What if it ruins a relationship? Even the apostle Paul, one of history's boldest evangelists, asked for prayers to share the gospel fearlessly. In this message, Pastor Mike helps you learn how to overcome fear, seize the right moments, and boldly proclaim the hope of Jesus in a world that desperately needs it. The battle is real, but so is the power of the gospel.
This sermon challenges believers to be “Kingdom Builders” who pray, trust, and work faithfully for God's mission, drawing inspiration from Nehemiah's determination to rebuild Jerusalem despite opposition. Pastor Mike Burnette emphasizes that true Kingdom Builders respond to criticism and hardship with prayer, perseverance, and both spiritual and practical action, knowing that “God fights for us.” Finally, the message invites everyone in the church to take part in building God's Kingdom—serving, giving, and leading—so that their names will be counted among those who helped build God's Church rather than those who “sat it out.”
Actively and carefully pursue holiness in your mind and body for the sake of our great God who said we will draw near to us when we do.
