For the last few months the Zone 1 Radio team have been working on a project called “Love Your Place”, which is an initiative designed to harness the power of community radio, community spaces and cutting edge technology to tackle issues of social, digital and economic exclusion. The idea is to use the UK’s community radio sector to bring people into physical spaces where they can learn digital skills, engage in volunteering opportunities in their local area and even gain skills and experience that will help them into apprenticeships and sustainable employment. The launch event was held at City Hall in London earlier this month - video and photos available at http://Zone 1 Radio.com - where it was announced that Zone 1 Radio would be launching the first Love Your Place Community Hub in Church Street in Westminster in September. IBM power the technology platform that supports Love Your Place and they very kindly sponsored the event at City Hall. Zone 1 Radio's Matthew Layton sat down with Paul Brown, Vice President IBM, to thank him for his help with the event and to ask him about the importance of diversity and inclusion to IBM. To keep up with the first Love Your Place Community Hub from refurb to launch in September, stay tuned to Zone 1 Radio on DAB digital radio and online at http://www.Zone1Radio.com
