Catch us on our weekly comedy podcast as we argue the toss about 10 things. Plenty of laughs throughout as the more intelligent Ben does his best to out wit the slightly less intelligent J. These longtime pals scour the news, social media and reach down the back of the Internet to bring topical, strange and always funny items to the episode to try and win points. Each week a special guest features from the world of comedy and entertainment.
EPISODE 14: After a short break the guys are back. This time talk turns to theatre and Ben not getting a bike for Christmas...ever! J asks if bombing was ever funny and discusses a corrupt vote for cereal. Other hard hitting topics are a nude guy showering on a Zoom call and breakfast for prisoners. Actually, this episode is very food heavy so, don't come listening if you haven't eaten, it may make you hungry.Guests this week are actor Micky Cochrane and world champion boxer Glenn McCrory...but they were having a punch up before the show so have a listen to see if they both turn up. Neil Diamond and Will Young make funny cameo singing appearances! Please hit subscribe and give us a 5 Star Review! Forget the crowding, that's nothing compared to other murky goings on at a beach in Bournemouth. The episode starts with Ben trapped in Leicester and J talks about a near miss plane crash...which is fun. Confirmation that Ben isn't 'that' bat man as well as some disgusting sounding (and smelling) fruit. After a pregnant pause at a chemist the lads welcome comedian and impressionist Cal Halbert and his many voices. The game of 'Lush, Shan, Divvent Na' played with Trump and Boris has never sounded so good. Sex addicted monkeys and Nigerian Dwarf Goats are both up for story of the week. Lots of daft laughs all the way, as usual. Get in touch with the show jason@10things.uk or ben@10things.uk
EPISODE 12: On this episode there’s a great rude Wogan impression (Jason is very pleased with himself - oh yes), a round of press ups, a Pope sticker album and a bad Elton rendition (Ben apologises). There's a British Tea bombshell and talk of praying the virus away. Stand up comedy legend Reginald D Hunter is a brilliant special guest this week and talks all things Reg, comedy and laughs a lot. A LOT. He does the best “divvent na" you’ve heard yet and doesn't care much for the headline of the week. "Just a couple of lovely Geordie lads" Reginald D Hunter about J & BenGet in touch with the show by emailing jason@10things.uk or ben@10things.uk
EPISODE 11: Recording two podcast episodes a week takes its toll as J & Ben really loose the plot and start going off on tangents here there and everywhere. Recorded this week from the queue outside a Botherforks pub. Mice feature heavily this week and other topics cover gambling donkeys, Kylie's hat in a cinema, and the Corona Sutra. Discussions with this week's special guest Seymour Mace are around Tarantino style dreams, frozen milk and life modelling. The lads play another quick fire game of Lush, Shan, Divvent Na and Seymour chooses the Story of the Week. The episode that coined the phrase 'Eeyore Fish BangBangBang'. Get in touch with the show jason@10things.uk or ben@10things.uk
Joined this week by very special guest Kerry Godliman who used to go to Uni with Ben...will she remember him? She has a canny attempt at the Geordie accent with the game 'Lush, Shan, Divvent Na' and she tells us about her own upcoming podcast and new TV drama. The lads get all deejay again, J goes off on a tangent and neither can decide who goes first with their stories. Topics this week are Big Brother, Yoga, allotments, musicals, children being caught doing very strange things and a new Lords Prayer. Who will win this episode? Who's got the story of the week? Don't forget to subscribe, rate & review
EPISODE 9: More laughs than the editors desk of a Christmas cracker joke writing office. Subjects covered this week are vomiting seagulls, peeing on golf clubs and runaway prisoners promising to come back. J & Ben also give a voice to birds and smoking monkeys and try not to give a voice at all to peak c**kwomble statue protestors. Listen to the first game of 'Lush, Shan, Divvent Na' with this week's very special guest, Comedy Store legend Andy Smart who tells us about his childhood dirty mags business and running with bulls.Don't forget to review, like and subscribe.
EPISODE 8: J & Ben laugh and talk nonsense about flightless birds, hanging from helicopters, the Village People and hapless thieves. Plenty of comedy and snorts in all of that. This week the guys are joined by the brilliant and humble multi platinum recording artist with an infectious laugh, Curtis Stigers. He talks about his inspiration for his latest album 'Gentleman' and his musical collaborations. He also speaks with passion and sincerity about the current turmoil in his home country and the importance of the Black Lives Matter movement. You'll hear a very genuine and down to earth man who can still raise a smile and make us laugh. The comedy and the chat is accompanied this week with a couple of tracks from Curtis' new album Gentleman which is available on iTunes, Spotify
EPISODE 7: It's J's turn to rant this week and it didn't take much to set him off. Just some misplaced food on a breakfast and religious t-shirt slogans. Ben 'bears' all about some thrill seeking Teddy bears and some early morning visitors ready to deliver a sexy time at the wrong address. Superbly funny guest Lauren Pattison joins the boys this week and chooses her story of the week. Don't forget to send your funny stories, social media posts or Internet observations to jason@10things.uk or ben@10things.uk
EPISODE 6: J and Ben visit Barnard Castle in a mission to see things more clearly, after John from Norwich got in touch to tell them he wants to see some changes, or else! So, in an effort to please him, and you, the format has been slightly tweaked. Still 10 things but now with a car chase, a ring of fire and a shark infested moat (doesn't have any of that). Special guest this week is brilliantly funny stand-up comedian Si Beckwith. Northern Alchemy Beer still to be won. Listen to find out more. To submit your own stories of the week for J & Ben email them in to jason@10things.uk or ben@10things.uk
EPISODE 5: This week J & Ben argue about the UK Charts, Matt Damon, mobile tiny people, sex huts and a whole lot more. This week's guest is the superb writer, award winning stand-up and actor Jason Cook who let's us in to his misspent youth and his desire to move a few doors down to be even closer to the local pub. Because we are such kind hosts we gave him all of our bandwith and, as such, our vocals are crap and his are superb!! Such a lots of laughs and an opportunity to win 2 kegs of Northern Alchemy beer!!
