Some episodes of The Rizzuto Show feel like a well-planned production. This… was not one of those episodes. It all kicks off with birthday wishes for Rizz (including a very unexpected shout-out) and quickly spirals into a conversation about comedy legend Kevin McDonald from Kids in the Hall coming to town. The gang dives into stories about sketch writing, improv shows, and the kind of comedy chaos you only get when legendary comedians start teaching classes to regular people who think they're funny. Spoiler alert: some are… most are not. Then the show launches into one of the most dangerous segments in the daily comedy show arsenal — The Rizz Quiz.If you've never heard the Rizz Quiz before, here's the deal: listeners get 60 seconds to answer rapid-fire trivia questions, but the moment you miss one… you're done. No skips. No lifelines. No mercy. And wow, did things get weird. One contestant absolutely crushes the early rounds and sets the bar high. After that? Let's just say the show learns that some people do not know how many days are in a leap year… someone forgets the name of the cowboy from Toy Story… and another contestant confidently tells us the Yellow Brick Road is gold.Meanwhile, the show spirals into debates about science, Pluto's planetary status, how many teeth humans actually have, and whether the sun counts as a star (yes… yes it does).Even the crew jumps in to see if they could beat the listeners in the Riz Quiz — and let's just say the results prove one important thing: trivia confidence and trivia ability are two very different things.Along the way, the gang shares stories about Kevin McDonald's improv workshops, what it's like learning sketch comedy from a legend, and why improv comedy sometimes feels like organized chaos. It's comedy nerd heaven mixed with total radio nonsense. If you like hilarious fails, trivia disasters, weird facts, and the kind of unpredictable chaos that only happens on a live daily comedy show, this episode absolutely delivers.Because nothing proves the power of a daily comedy show quite like watching grown adults completely forget the most basic trivia questions while thousands of listeners judge them.Welcome to another completely normal day on The Rizzuto Show.Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Dan McMahon shares his journey from being a CPA to embracing improvisational and stand-up comedy as powerful hobbies that helped him become more confident, authentic, and fulfilled outside of work. Dan talks about how he started improv as a way to break out of old routines and found that it made him a better listener, collaborator, and public speaker. He also describes how performing stand-up, despite its nerve-wracking moments, became an exhilarating way to push himself outside his comfort zone. Dan credits improv and stand-up for giving him new depth, helping him build stronger relationships with clients, and encouraging those around him to be more authentic. He discusses the importance of finding passions that bring joy and insists that sharing those interests makes everyone better professionals. Dan encourages listeners to focus on what completes them as individuals, suggesting that authenticity and personal passions enrich both life and work. Episode Highlights · Dan credits his years in improv and dabbling in stand-up comedy with making him more confident, a better listener, and more collaborative, ultimately improving his personal and professional life. · He intentionally steps outside his comfort zone (like performing stand-up) to demonstrate the importance of courage. Not just for his own growth, but to inspire his clients to do the same. · Dan emphasizes the value of being authentic with clients and colleagues, sharing his passions and hobbies openly. He notes that this authenticity has made client relationships more natural and rewarding. · He stresses that focusing solely on the technical side of the job is not enough. Having passions and interests outside of work makes us more complete and enjoyable to be around. · His advice for others is to pursue what makes you happy, even if it seems like no one cares. Over time, you'll attract the right people who appreciate your depth and individuality.
Inside Strategic Coach: Connecting Entrepreneurs With What Really Matters
Most entrepreneurs were trained to win through competition, not collaboration. In this episode, Dan Sullivan and Shannon Waller show how the rules of improv—no one in charge, “yes, and,” and always supporting your partner—create transformative business partnerships, helping you think on your feet, combine unique strengths, and co‑create new value that competitors simply can't copy. Here's some of what you'll learn in this episode:How the first two rules of improv translate directly into powerful business collaboration. What instantly shuts down collaboration and kills momentum. How Strategic Coach® workshops function as true collaborations between the coach and members. The structured way of thinking that Strategic Coach clients use to create new breakthroughs. What it really takes to be a great business coach. Show Notes: Strategic Coach® has always taken a theatrical approach to business, with a clear structure for entrepreneurs to bring their own content and breakthroughs. Thinking about your thinking lets you compare experiences, spot patterns, and create better solutions than you've had before. When you combine past experiences in new ways, you generate fresh ideas and opportunities that didn't exist on their own. At Coach, the workshop tools may stay the same, but what each entrepreneur focuses on and transforms is totally unpredictable. Great coaching means being comfortable with anything participants say or ask and using it as raw material for progress. Your work life and personal life work best when they collaborate instead of compete, supporting the same future. Most entrepreneurs grow up in a world of pure competition and have to consciously shift into collaboration. At the highest level, successful companies collaborate with other successful companies to create a “third thing” for shared clients. This “third thing” is a new value creation that competitors can't copy because they don't know how it was created. In improv and in collaboration, no one is the boss; each partner brings different strengths and has equal status. The first rule of improv is to say yes to any new idea your partner brings instead of debating or analyzing it to death. The second rule of improv is to actively support your partner's progress by adding value to what they've started. Powerful collaborators stay alert, curious, responsive, and resourceful so they can build on what's happening in real time.Collaboration dies when your partner doesn't respond, fails to comment, opposes your idea, or refuses to contribute to it. The best collaborative days often come from letting go of rigid plans and following the energy of the group's best ideas.Being a great collaborator means arriving prepared with a “quiver” of experiences and examples you can draw on in the moment. You can strengthen your improv muscle by asking unpredictable, high‑value questions rather than trying to have all the answers. Send a textThis week the squad gets right into it with a case out of Tecumseh Michigan. Swan summarizes the case of accused plaintiff, innocent until proven guilty, Dale Warner charged with the murder of his wife. News flash, he's this weeks POS. Think he did it? Beaveman is pretty convinced. Then Drippy Steve brings the heat with an interesting mystery of the missing House Majority leader Thomas Hale Boggs in October of 1972. Aliens, plane crash, or did these folks pop smoke and get out of dodge to protect their anonymity for some other reason? The mystery continues. The Beaveman doesn't disappoint. After being told last episode that he needed to ramp it up a bit, he presents the devastating medical condition known as Fournier Gangrene. Can Steven handle the description and images, or does he become a pasty, pale, panty-waste? What do you think? Finally, Swan disappoints us all with some of the jokes that were very common when Beaveman was a young lad. Get ready for some of the worst, tasteless jokes of modern times. It's what we do.
