Susan Saiger is best known as Doris the Dominatrix from the cult comedy classic Eating Raoul. She was a regular improve performer at all the LA clubs in the ‘80s & ‘90s. As an original cast member of The Steven Weed Show, Susan received a Dramalogue award for Best Ensemble Cast. Several film & TV roles later, she took an 18 year break to raise kids and have a ‘normal life'. She returned to the stage in 2008 as a stand-up comedian…on a dare…one night only! Yeah…right. Susan is currently working at comedy clubs across and country and is shooting The Doll. She is a member of SAG-AFTRA, EQUITY and the PTA, but not AARP. Susan Saiger is filming her first comedy special in the fall of 2025. Susan Saiger returned to the comedy stage in August of 2008 after an 18-year hiatus…during that time she had a baby boy, then got married, (yes, in that order!) adopted two daughters from China, wrote and sold a play and got divorced. She went back to do stand-up comedy on a dare from two dear friends so, of course, she took the challenge. The catch was … it was for “one night only”. Yeah, right … we see how that worked out! It actually worked out very well, indeed! Since that time, Susan has been performing stand up on a regular basis. She toured with the Funny Divas for three years as well as doing her own thing as a solo performer. She has been working in clubs and theaters all over Florida with The Funny Diva Show and regularly performs at Flappers, The Federal and The Formosa in LA. She was a regular host of Comedy in the Raw at the Tampa Improv. Stand up is her favorite type of performing, but her roots are in the theater, improvisational comedy and in film…Susan was a regular improv performer in Los Angeles at The Comedy Store, The Hollywood Improv and the Laugh Factory as well as any smaller venue that hosted improv shows during the 80s and 90s. It was on stage during a show that she was asked to audition for her first movie role…and she got the part! That part was Doris the Dominatrix in the cult classic film Eating Raoul. It was a role that she loved doing and is still bringing her acclaim as it was released in 2012 on Criterion Films for its 30th anniversary! She appeared in the films: The Presidio as Gloria, the Deadhead secretary, Kelly in Paul Bartel's Scenes from the Class Struggle in Beverly Hills and Buffy the groupie in the indie film Get Crazy. Her favorite job on TV was as a regular ‘prankster' on the series that was the 90s version of ‘Punked'… Totally Hidden Video. Susan, also performed and had writing credits in two long running plays done in Hollywood's Theater. The Steven Weed Show won the Dramalogue award for best ensemble cast in 1988. In 1989-1990 Susan collaborated on an Evening on Thin Ice which was a play about an improv group. I think I'm finally all better! (Maybe? I don't know. At least my cough is gone! For now!) (Nervous laughter) No one plays “lovably sleazy” like Paul Giamatti. Exciting things coming up (I didn't know how else to articulate this segment) Unfortunately for you, I found out today was the 30 year anniversary of seeing Korn for the first time. “Mecca of bodybuilding?” More like WRECK-A of bodybuilding. A prolific, Los Angeles-gallavanting Saturday, and I went to see Superman so you don't have to. (This shouldve been a two-parter, I'm sorry. Save it for a long drive? Or if you want to get your wife to leave you.)

It's an absolute pleasure to have today's guest on the podcast! Dan Brodribb has years of stage experience and is one of my personal favourite comedians. What I love about Dan does not stop at the stage though, he is one of the deepest thinkers and most insightful people I have met in the comedy world. He always tries his best to be a positive force in a negative industry. He is constantly pushing himself to be better and to work on different aspects of his comedy game in a way I have seen no other comic do. He puts comics half his age to shame in terms of work ethic, integrity and all out funny! If you enjoy this podcast we also did another one a few years back that is just as great.Go give Dan a follow on instagram @danbrodribb and check out a show of his soon!

I have been running amazing comedy shows around Edmonton for a few years now. When I started I had no idea how in over my head i was and how much there was to learn, I really had to repeatedly fall on my face in order to figure out what truly makes a great show. But recently I have been so happy with the skill set I've built and the comics I've become friends with that it is crazy not to take the show on the road! And there's no place I'd rather start than my home town of Slave Lake! So Saturday August 16th I am bringing some amazing comics to the Rex Theatre for a night of laughs and debauchery. I promise this will be the best comedy show Slave Lake has ever seen and you won't want to miss it! Let's sell this thing out and have so much fun we have to do it again ASAP. Figured I should hop on the podcast to tell yall about it so here's a quick little solo episode to let you know what I got going on! Also if you would like your company to sponsor this show please reach out! If you want to come hang with me this weekend I'll be at the moon tonight (hit me up for ticks and come chill) Yuks yuks and the comic strip Saturday (hit me up) and the strip and the moon Sunday (also hit me up and come hang!)I love you all and I cannot wait!

Julie Seabaugh! Journalist! Author! Producer! Friend! Delight! More! Long-time comedy journalist Julie Seabaugh is the producer, story editor and originator of Are We Good?, the new documentary about comic and podcast pioneer Marc Maron that makes its East Coast premiere at the Tribeca June 14 and 15. She is a journalist, author and documentarian who has covered stand-up and the ins-and-outs of the comedy industry for more than 20 years. More about Julie Seabaugh and the new doc: After covering Marc Maron many times in major news outlets, she was struck by his loss and honesty when his partner Lynn Shelton died unexpectedly in 2020. Seabaugh says the continuing Instagram videos voicing his grief was some of “the most touching stuff I'd ever seen publicly coming from a comedian,” and she knew the next stand-up material he created would be the most powerful he'd done to date and that someone ought to be documenting the next period in his life and career. She quickly realized that someone was her, and she sprung into action. She produced the first Are We Good? shoot on May 7, 2021 at the Comedy Store, the night of Maron's first time back on stage since the start of the Covid pandemic. Julie Seabaugh produced and hosted 2020's Hope on Top: A Mitch Hedberg Oral History for SiriusXM and with Emmy-nominated filmmaker Nick Scown directed September 2021 feature documentary Too Soon: Comedy After 9/11 for Vice. Her film Are We Good? A Marc Maron Documentary made its world premiere in March 2025 at SXSW. A documentary on legendary performer Mitch Hedberg will debut in 2026. As a professional comedy journalist for more than two decades, Seabaugh covered the art form for The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, Rolling Stone, The Hollywood Reporter, Variety, GQ and numerous other titles. Her expertise on modern roasting culminated in 2018 book Ringside at Roast Battle. 2022's 50 Years of the Comedy Store vinyl box set features her liner notes. With comedian Byron Bowers, the memoir Beyond the Promised Land is out from Grand Central Publishing in summer 2026. Julie Seabaugh online: Journalism Films/Books Are We Good? Comedian and former schoolteacher Joe Dombrowski joins Adam for a lively conversation filled with personal stories, education insights, and a crash course in gay hygiene essentials. The conversation spans everything from housing crises and public safety to media narratives and economic flight. Adam and Steve share a candid, solutions-focused conversation about restoring accountability in government and why California—once a model of prosperity—is now in desperate need of reform. In the news; John Oliver, who's being sued by a health insurance executive claiming that a Medicaid monologue on HBO's Last Week Tonight destroyed his reputation.
