Now then, this will be interesting. A story hugely despised by many, and yet those that prefer to love than monster it will fight for its reputation and absorb any criticism aimed at it. To finish the celebrations of Doctor Who's anniversary week it's definitely appropriate to examine an episode that puts fans under the spotlight. Our special guest, Chris Dunford-Kelk is one of you host Toby Hadoke's oldest friends - and probably his longest running Who pal, and he has done a cracking job advocating for a story that certainly divides fans. But will it divide Toby and Chris? Which one of them is Elton and which one is Victor Kennedy? Will they agree on what we like about this - and what about you? Can they convert a Love & Monsters hater? Well, they will certainly have a go in what has been one of the most rewarding recordings in the whole of Happy Times and Places. And to think, Toby was supposed to be doing Terminus ... but the RTD announcement happened and, heck, he went with what he was in the mood for... and he was in the mood for blue skies.
Trying something a little different with this episode. Very nervous, anxious and feeling a little silly but a little different doesn’t mean wrong. BTW, swear word at the very end. We hope you... Don your smoking jacket, pop on your slippers and reach for your pipe... Sit back and enjoy the feeling of being a 'real man'. Elton and Pete guide you through the topics of the day and movies of great interest that every discerning gentleman should be well informed on.

Let's dig into money lessons from celebrities today. I love reading famous people's memoirs. I love when celebs talk about money! We're gonna learn from the rich and famous how to develop a better relationship with money. Elton John reveals in his autobiography that in the beginning he splashed cash on flowers, extra houses and art until his accountant sat him down and told him he'd soon run out of money. At this point Elton worked hard to get a handle on his finances, but STILL spent money on the luxuries that bring him joy. In the past, I've spent money that I didn't really have to make myself feel better. I've avoided looking at my bills. Have you been there? Today, we'll use celebrity lessons to help us learn to love our money, live a more glamorous life and upgrade our self-care!
An Oakland resident for many years now, England-born Zoë Elton has colored the Bay Area's film and theater world with her many talents. She is a film curator, writer, cartoonist, interviewer, director, jewelry-designer, and the long-time Program Director for the Mill Valley Film Festival. Not only has her leadership and dedication to filmmaking helped the international Festival flourish, but her keen creative eye has helped the Festival choose films that would go on to win Oscars. Elton's passions and experience has allowed her to explore new avenues with the Festival, too. She initiated the Active Cinema Program, which examines artist's works with a cause, and Mind the Gap, a women's initiative that supports women filmmakers. Her long-time exposure to the Film world and knack for interviewing has also given her great opportunities to learn from successful filmmakers and luminaries such as Dustin Hoffman, James Franco, Viola Davis, Helen Mirren, and more. Zoë is infectious to be around. Her calm and gentle manner disarms those around her, allowing them to get to know her with ease. Her stories of traveling the world in search of films and accounts of her wonderful years in the Bay Area are endless. It was an honor and pleasure to document some of Elton's stories in this week's episode of Beyond the Fog Radio. Harry's uncle is singer/songwriter Neil Sedaka. Depending on how old you are, and your knowledge of pop music, you may know Uncle Neil wrote and performed a string of Top 40 hit songs from the 1950s all the way to the 1980s, a feat accomplished by only a few dozen artists. Harry digs into music chart data to find out about the changing nature of mega pop hits, how rare Uncle Neil's success was compared to today, and if that kind of success will even be possible in the future. The star-studded set also includes a collaboration with Nicki Minaj and Young Thug, who join the 74-year-old icon on “Always Love You.” “I've admired Young Thug for a while and he sampled one of my songs on his track, ‘High,' back in 2018 so it was great to collaborate again,” said Elton. “And then, I was so pleased when Nicki agreed to do it. The unlikely combination of Sir Elton John, Dua Lipa, and Aussie electronic mega-act PNAU have collaborated on a new track that's soaring up the charts across the world. Cold Heart puts Elton John back on top for the first time in 16 years. Cold Heart is at once instantly recognisable and yet thoroughly contemporary - a modern dance floor filler based on four of Elton's classic tracks expertly spliced together. It's not a new relationship between Sir Elton and PNAU, however. They've been on each other's radar for 13 years, and as PNAU founding member Nick Littlemore explains to John Stanley, the Australian impact on the success of this song is far from an overnight success. Hurricane Ida was the second most destructive hurricane to make landfall in the United States, with winds reaching up to 149mph. While many civilians were busy evacuating or hunkering down in their homes, a large population of homeless people were outside trying to obtain shelter of their own. Some made it into hotels, apartments, hospitals, and homeless shelters, while others were forced to hide behind walls and use trees to shield from the wind. The homeless story of Hurricane Ida is an interesting one—filled with tales of incredible endurance, striking survival, and a deep love of home: New Orleans, Louisiana. Episode 61.Subscribe at bedletter.substack.com Follow Christian on TwitterThis is the final part in my two-part series on the homeless experience in New Orleans. In the first episode, we heard the stories of Cris, Michael, Earlene, Lo, and Adam. In this production, we hear the voices of Elton, Eric, Stephanie, and Lane. Each person had a different take on the storm, and in many cases, weathered it in their own way. Some received help from FEMA while others found it impossible to catch word of where to be at the right time. The voices we hear in these two episodes allow those of us on the outside to gain a better understanding of what it’s like in the middle of an intense natural disaster. What’s more, we are able to get first-hand accounts of those that were on the front lines of it. We hear about how the locals helped the locals, how dark the city got during the power outages, how loud the raging wind and rain were, and how dangerous it was to navigate the storm. Having never been in a hurricane myself, I appreciated bridging the gap between what I imagine happening with what actually occurred.A huge thank you to those who gave me their time and energy throughout this production. Your stories are real, your voices are heard. Most importantly, they are remembered. For those interested in donating to the relief of people most seriously impacted by Hurricane Ida, I have included a link below. Simply put - Get off your tail end and do it....build it...invest it....create it....GO NOW. Our guest today, Mr Elton Pope brought the funny to the state of Mississippi in a big way. Thirteen years ago he noticed a void in the state and realized that Mississippians needed the space to laugh. With that realization he took it upon himself to carve a path, build a business, and find the success he wanted to see. Elton didn't have experience in comedy but he had initiative. He didn't have contacts but he had passion. He didn't know how to do what needed to be done, but he figured it out. What are you thinking or dreaming about now that you haven't moved on? TODAY is the day - MOVE and Elton gives the inspiration needed to make it happen. The best time to take action on your idea was yesterday but the second best time is now!!!
