Podcast on motorcycle riding and information.
I got a chance to demo ride the 2016 Indian Chief Dark Horse. Where in the hell is the oil cooler? I understand Indian is trying to reduce costs to sell their motorcycles cheaper. I got it. But removing the oil cooler is a bad idea. Really a bad idea! The Thunder Stroke 111 generates heat, lots of it. I know this for fact. I own a 2015 Indian Roadmaster and the right side of the engine gets hot!!! You guys better put that oil cooler back on the Chief Classic, the Dark Horse and the Vintage.
I got the chance to ride the 2015 KTM 390 Duke. This motorcycle is small! It weighs about 340 pounds with all of fluids. But, this motorcycle is no toy. The single cylinder liquid cooled 373 cc engine produces about 44 HP at the crank. That's lot of power for this size engine. The suspension and brakes are spot on. I was able to crank this pretty hard through turns without a problem. ABS is standard and you're looking at price around $5,000.
I got a chance to demo ride a 2015 Victory Magnum. The Magnum is powered by the Freedom 106 engine. This engine provides plenty of torque and the V-twin rumble. The six speed gear-box worked like a charm. The 100 watt stereo to pumps out the tunes through six speakers. Equipped with a 21 inch front wheel and really cool paint job. LED lighting all the way around.
My Moto Guzzi was down for the count because of an oil leak through a breather hose. It took 6.5 weeks to get the repair completed. Most of the time was spent trying to get the parts. Everything is grooving now!
I got a chance to sort of test ride the Harley Davidson's Livewire electric motorcycle. I attended the Chicago International Motorcycle Show back in February. In the Harley Davidson area they had the Livewire mounted in a contraption that let the rear wheel spin freely, but kept everything else in check. Very similar to what Harley Davidson does with their internal combustion power motorcycles at the show.
I got chance to ride the 2014 KTM 1290 Super Duke R. This was my very time riding a KTM motorcycle. Okay, let's start with this motorcycle is a BEAST and it's FUCKING fast! I guess I just lost my PG rating. 150 HP at the rear wheel! 1300 cc V-twin with ABS, traction control and three modes of fuel mapping. Fully adjustable suspension with outstanding brakes! Buy one!
I was reading one of the motorcycle magazines that I have downloaded to my iPad. Not a big fan of printed magazines, in my opinion that's a waste of the planet's resources. So low and behold, there's an article/review on the 2014 Harley-Davidson Ultra Limited. I thought to myself ”oh cool, I get to read about a motorcycle that I own.” After reading your review, I was so pissed off and wondered if they were smoking medical marijuana during the creation of the article.
I went to the 2014 international motorcycle show in Rosemont Illinois in February. I know it's damn close to May but better late than never. The show was jam-packed which I hope is a good sign for the industry. Something different this time there were actually Harley dealers with their own booths. I believe there were three different Harley dealerships represented at the show plus Harley the parent company. A lot of new products this year which is a good sign! Manufacturers are investing in research and development bringing new products to market.
Last summer I got the opportunity to ride a 2012 Harley-Davidson's Sportster XL883L SuperLow. I definitely wouldn't normally ride or purchase this size motorcycle. Not that it's a bad motorcycle, it just seems beneath me. Wow, that makes me sound pretty damn arrogant. I want to make this perfectly clear I'm not dissing this product it's just that I prefer bigger and more powerful motorcycles. Well, maybe I'm dissing it just a little, sorry. Either way, this is very nice entry level motorcycle. Buy one, now!
Just a little info about Harley Davidson's two brand new motorcycles.
A lot of people have been asking me questions about my 2014 Moto Guzzi California 1400 custom. A lot of these questions are coming through my YouTube channel "coolcycledude." So I decided to start possibly a monthly blog about the ups and the downs of the Moto Guzzi. So if you're interested in a honest and non-technical opinion you might want to listen to these podcasts. As always thank you for very much for listening to my podcasts.
I got a chance to demo the 2014 Indian chief classic motorcycle. This is the motorcycle that has the power stroke 111 engine. It was a really nice motorcycle to ride on the go back for another demo ride at the end of September. I really enjoyed writing the motorcycle I thought it was a very well made product. Let's not have any illusions here Polaris brought this brand back from the dead to compete with Harley-Davidson. I'm a firm believer of competition, but I've got the Harley brain.
Got the chance to ride the Bolt at a Yamaha demo ride. Nice motorcycle.
Just running my mouth about my Honda VTX1800
Got a chance to ride the Harley Davidson 72. Nice motorcycle!
I'm running my mouth about the Ducati Diavel. Podcast number 2 baby!
This was a recording I made at the Indian both. I was at the International Motorcycle Show in Rosemont IL.
