Join Cecil, Vintage and Damok while they hang out and just play a game. What game? Left 4 Dead 3. No… Back 4 Dead...No. That's not it. Left 4 Blood? (whispers from off camera) Back 4 blood? Back 4 Blood. They are playing Back 4 Blood…. It really just seemed like Left 4 Dead. It was really a different game? Huh. Could have swore it was a new Left 4 Dead game. Anywho, join these three knuckle heads as they play a game and like normal, Vintage has technical issues.

The season premieres of SmackDown and Raw were supposed to push WWE into a new era, but instead, it appears as if we are headed for much of the same. Host Adam Silverstein and co-host Chris Vannini dive into the first set of WWE shows with new rosters finalized following the WWE Draft with a primary focus on the lack of effort to showcase new superstars [2:50]. The Main Event begins with a look at the controversy swirling around Charlotte Flair going off script and being confronted by Becky Lynch as a guys look at what this means for the main event women's picture entering Survivor Series [12:45]. They also discuss what the future holds for Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins emerging as Big E's first challenger for the WWE title. The Good, The Bad and The Ugly [1:03:12] picks apart a bunch of unnecessarily revamped gimmicks along with the coronations of King Xavier Woods and Queen Zelina Vega. It's that time once again: the annual all-music Halloween episode! Naturally, we prefer that listeners jump right in but maybe we can give you some SNEAK PREVIEWS to scare up your interest: this Halloween episode will be a little different as we spend time AT THE MOVIES. This episode will focus on songs (yes, with vocals) from horror flicks from the 1980s (maybe one from the 1990s). There are some obvious choices, of course: Freddy, Jason & Michael are represented but we have other perhaps more obscure horror flicks covered as well (if anything, maybe the songs themselves are less known than the movie they appear in). From main title songs, to end title songs, to songs that are genuinely creepy, to songs that are, like, what-the-hell-is-that-song-doing-in-a-horror-movie (looking at you, HALLOWEEN: CURSE OF MICHAEL MYERS), from disco songs to country songs to songs with an extended kazoo solo(!), these songs will have you howling at the moon this Halloween (or any other time of the year). So please take a listen and leave a comment letting us know what you think. We at VHS Rewind wish everyone a very safe and happy Halloween season.

(Don't Fear) The Reaper is a masterpiece Blue Oyster Cult created in the mid-70's and almost half a century on it's still loved and played on the radio today. Albert Bouchard was a founding member of the group and tasted all the highs including hit albums Agents of Fortune and Fire of Unknown Origin as well as the hit singles Godzilla, Burning For You and the previously mentioned (Don't Fear) The Reaper. In this humorous interview Albert talks about his early days and the missed opportunity with Jimi Hendrix and Ringo Starr, how the bands unique name came about, the hits, the much parodied and now legendary cowbell and about his new Imaginos trilogy which has its roots back in the 60's! In today's episode, we will talk about real-life Hollywood glam coming from Jasmine Chiswell. She is known on social media with millions and millions of followers for her vintage style. Recently, she purchased the honeymoon House of Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe, which is pretty neat, considering she may have also adopted a few ghosts from that. Jasmine will talk about how she came about her vintage style and how you can accomplish this, as well. She will also share a few stories about the ghosts that have popped up in her household.
I'm delighted to share this episode with you. I'm having a conversation with one of my favorite fabric and wallpaper designers, Mally Skok. And she's also a really fabulous interior designer. Originally from South Africa and now living in the States, near me, in Boston, as it turns out, Mally has just written a gem of a book. It's called "Mally's Little Handbook: A guide to finding your joy through my designer eyes." Without knowing it was going to happen, what we talked about so closely aligned with my Slow Style approach, I feel like Mally could be the spirit animal of the Slow Style philosophy! Let's get started and I think you'll see what I mean.

Denmark has a thriving second-hand economy, in part because people generally don't look down on second-hand goods here. The Danes are practical people – why should something be thrown out when it can be used again? And their passion for sustainability means it's cool to reuse something that already exists instead of manufacturing something new. There is a network of “genbrug” (recycling) stations all over all over the country, where people can leave stuff they don't want and other people can take it for free. And there's a thriving market for second-hand furniture in the classic Danish design style.
My guest today is one of my favorite interiors photographers and she's also an accomplished, sought after designer. You'd never guess that her life was kind of in shambles a decade ago. Along with her personal journey, we also talk about how to make sure you're making good decisions while you're thrifting and antiquing, why you can't have great style without having patience, and why we all deserve sacred spaces in our homes.
