La campagne est très polarisée : d'un côté, la candidate de gauche Yanette Hara, et de l'autre, l'extrême droite. Des camps que tout oppose, nous raconte notre correspondante Naïla Derroisné. Ce dimanche, 16 novembre 2025, plus de 15 millions de Chiliens seront appelés aux urnes pour choisir entre les 8 candidats présidentiels qui se présentent. Jeannette Jara, la candidate communiste du bloc de la gauche est, pour le moment, la favorite. Mais selon les sondages, elle ne remporterait pas assez de voix pour gagner dès le premier tour. Face à elle, trois candidats de la droite et de l'ultra-droite, dont José Antonio Kast, fondateur du parti Républicain bien positionné lui aussi, pour passer au second tour. Ces derniers mois, la campagne a fortement été marquée par les questions de sécurité, de narcotrafic et de délinquance. Tous les candidats en ont fait leur priorité car ce sont les principales préoccupations des Chiliens, nous précise notre correspondante Naïla Derroisné dans un reportage à Santiago. L'affaire Epstein secoue les républicains et une partie du camp MAGA En voulant étouffer la controverse autour des «Epstein files», les républicains ont finalement ravivé l'affaire, estime le New York Times. Face aux démocrates qui tentaient d'imposer un vote pour publier les documents, les dirigeants du Parti républicain ont lancé en septembre une manœuvre destinée à éviter une mise en difficulté politique : confier à la commission de contrôle de la Chambre, déjà dirigée par les conservateurs, la poursuite d'une enquête sur le dossier Epstein. L'objectif, poursuit le journal, était de montrer un effort de transparence tout en protégeant Donald Trump. Mais cette stratégie s'est retournée contre eux. Coincés entre les appels croissants à la transparence et leur volonté de protéger Trump, les républicains peinent désormais à reprendre le contrôle du dossier. Mais ce n'est pas le seul dossier qui pose un problème à Donald Trump Oui, selon le Washington Post, le président américain fait face à une fronde inhabituelle au sein de sa base MAGA, après avoir affirmé que les États-Unis manquaient de travailleurs «talentueux» et avaient besoin de faire venir davantage d'étrangers qualifiés. Les critiques, de plus en plus ouvertes, montrent un populisme désormais autonome, parfois prêt à «guider» Trump plutôt qu'à le suivre. En tout cas, d'après le Washington Post, plusieurs stratèges républicains s'inquiètent que l'enthousiasme pro-Trump s'érode à l'approche des élections de mi-mandat de 2026.   Des footballeurs en grève Des footballeurs colombiens se sont couchés sur la pelouse pour protester contre leurs conditions de travail. God's ultimate goal is not to keep you out of Hell... but to take the Hell out of you! When we surrendered our lives to Jesus our accounts were cleared with God. Our negative moral balance was wiped out, and we were reckoned as righteous. So far, so good. But if we think that's all God has to say to us about the matter of right-ness, we're in deep trouble. The whole point of the exercise is to take that holiness on the ledger, and make it real in our lives. As seen from most of the United States, the Big Dipper is plunging toward the northern horizon as night falls, as if it’s about to dip into a pail of water. If you line up the stars at the outer edge of the dipper’s bowl, and follow that line to the upper right, the first moderately bright star you come to is Polaris, the Pole Star or North Star. Earth’s north pole aims toward it, so Polaris forms the hub of the northern sky – all the other stars appear to rotate around it. And it’s always at the same point above the horizon – night and day, all year long. There’s a southern pole star, too. It’s not as prominent as Polaris, though. In fact, it’s barely visible. The star is Polaris Australis. It’s also known as Sigma Octantis because it’s in the constellation Octans, which depicts a navigational instrument known as an octant. Polaris Australis isn’t as impressive as Polaris mainly because Polaris is huge and brilliant. Compared to most stars, though, the southern pole star is impressive, too. It’s more than half again the mass of the Sun. It’s expanding as it nears the end of its life, so it’s several times wider than the Sun. And its outer layers puff in and out, so it brightens and fades a tiny bit every couple of hours. On average, it’s more than 40 times brighter than the Sun. But it’s almost 300 light-years away. So that keeps Polaris Australis from being a better pointer to the celestial south pole. Script by Damond Benningfield

In this podcast episode, I'm joined by Lurch and Patreon Member (and Indian Motorcycle rider) Anthony Peters.  We talk about the big announcement that Polaris sold off it's majority ownership of Indian Motorcycles.  In one of the biggest shake-ups the motorcycle world has seen in years, Polaris has announced that it's selling a majority stake in Indian Motorcycle to the private equity firm Carolwood LP.  This move has many riders and industry insiders asking the same question — is Indian Motorcycle in trouble, or are they gearing up for something big?  It's a bold, unexpected shift that could either ignite new growth or put the brand in a risky position. Let's take a closer look at what's really happening and why it matters.
