This week I spoke with Dr Frank Brennan from Calvary Hospital in Sydney, Australia. What an incredible person. What an incredible conversation. We spoke about how his passion for Palliative Care stemmed from his Brother passing away at a young age. We spoke about his time in South Africa. We spoke about how to discover yourself as a doctor and his journey in medicine. He shared with us an incredible poem and a short story about the struggle of the dying process, not sure as the patient but also as the loved ones. In this episode of Doctors Getting Coffee, I had the great pleasure of catching up with an old teacher of mine - Professor David Morris. He is the Head of Liver Surgery and Peritonectomy at St George Hospital. We talked about his beginnings in England and the troubles he had with his family because of his love of medicine. We go on to talk about his arrival to Australia and his pioneering of the Peritonectomy Procedure in Australia.
