Our guest for this episode is Jamie Seccombe, Jamie has a long list of achievements in the sport of cutting and is one of the younger trainers going around, his story like most is very unique.   I have known Jamie for quite some time, but I have never really spent any time getting know Jamie, So I learnt a lot from this episode and without giving too many spoiler alerts away, there where a couple of significant moments that stood out for me. Firstly Jamie was never going to be a horse trainer and secondly he has a great balance between running a business and a family as well as having a great client relationships!

Our guest for this episode is none other then Mark Buttsworth!  Buttsy is another great 4Cyte trainer, rider and competitor that I'm privilege to call my friend and mentor. As you will hear I was very nervous recording this interview, as I have so much respect for Mark, I put a lot of pressure on myself to do justice to this episode. It was also hard for Buttsy as he is very humble and doesn't like talking about himself at the best of times, little own on a recorded podcast. Mark is one of the most accomplished riders in this country of all time. He has earned well over a million dollars from both cutting and campdrafting. He is also having a real purple patch at the moment, winning most things he goes in and we will find out why, so stay tuned!

And you won't find a harder worker then Mat. Mat is knocking on the door of something great, and I believe he will produce some of the best cutting horses this country has ever seen, and that's based on his work ethic, and passion for the sport of cutting!

G'Day podcast listeners, we are back with a special 4Cyte super series, this is season 1 where Dan Steers catch's up and interviews a few of the 4Cyte sponsored team members. The first guests in our 4Cyte podcast series is none other than Lynda and Jim MacCallum. We have chosen to interview these guys as a couple, because as you will hear, Jim and Lynda are quite the team.  In this 4Cyte super series episode you will learn how Lynda and Jim are both very accomplished riders and trainers, but they have way more to their story than just this.

In this episode of the Double Dan Podcast, Dan Steers sits down with his very first mentor Pete Webber. Dan and Pete traverse Pete's early years, from his station upbringing by the Ord River, to moving out from under the shadow of his dad (another established horseman) and charging $30 for a set of shoes. Not long in to Pete's career as a professional horseman he took an apprentice under his wing, and that apprentice was none other than Dan Steers. As Pete's story unfolds we get to learn a little more about Dan's departure from an education he wasn't interested in, followed by his introduction to the world of horses. Dan earns the nickname "Fluffy" and gets an eyebrow ring. Pete wrangles some stray cattle off a country road bareback and bridleless and trains a horse to be successful in four different sports. A few other industry greats get a mention as these two horseman sit down and tell tales of the years gone by.

It's official - Kym Hagon is on notice! He's MIA from this episode, in which Dan James and Dan Steers traverse the tail end of 2012 starting in Canada. This episode is a demolition derby from start to finish! Kids are getting T-boned by trailers during shows, Dan James is thrown from a bronc before he's even on one, someone cops a polo ball to the head, and trick riders call for help from a jammed elevator - and this is all after everyone sees their lives flashing before their eyes as the truck loses control on black ice. Dan Steers has an epic win; a credit to his horsemanship program and another reason to party. From a larrikin filled hotel room in America to a classy polo field in Perth, this episode is another uninterrupted story time with the two Dans of Double Dan Horsemanship as we learn more about the trials and tribulations of making it happen in the world of horses.

The Dans are flying solo in this episode without Kym Hagon, but his spot is quickly taken by an intruder who doesn't stop interrupting from poolside in the US!Dan and Dan jump back in to their foundations story with an in depth look at 2012, and Road to the Horse. Here, the podcast gets a bit tangential as the Dans explore the psychology of competition. Dan James talks us through every moment as a competitor, and relives the true Australian story of being the battler, and turning your luck around in glorious style.We're introduced to Swampy - a Double Dan icon, and get inside info on what it's like to fly with horses.But that's not all. There's a rowdy race track performance, a Greek Adonis who can't keep his shirt on, Pia has a stack that has Steers convinced she's broken her back, and the Dans share a moment double-dinking.This instalment of the Double Dan story is an episode you don't want to miss.

Join Kym Hagon and Dan Steers as they step back in to the Double Dan timeline circa 2011. This is the era of the infamous rogue Amelia, prompting her excommunication from the team and one way ticket out of the country.  Steers finds himself having words with yet another event organiser and Dan James is MIA at Equitana after a few rums.Are the DD horses out of control, or are they meant to be behaving like that? That's up for debate - check out "Double Dans Horses Get Out Of Control" on YouTube! As Equitana draws to a close the Dan's have rid themselves of that disastrous truck - but now they have to leave the country and can't find the keys to the new truck to get it off the Equitana grounds. Everyone's packed up and gone, but the Double Dan team are stranded.  Finally in New Zealand it's moments away from Equidays and the Dans are roaming the countryside trying to find horses to use in their show. Time is running out....and they don't have an act without horses! Steers spills the beans on a few renowned horsemen getting loose, but also admits being driven home from NZs equestrian party of the year by his mum. Before the boys wrap up 2011 they'll be on the run from the police across the Nullabor with a stowaway - of course.  It's another action packed episode and the last part of the story with both Dans together before Dan James leaves for America, and features a comment from Kym Hagon that's just too controversial to print - you'll have to tune in to find out what comes out of this wildcard's mouth!

"Special Comments" joins the OG Dan Steers, for a special episode as the guys host their first interview. Their guest is Australian Football League star turned horseman and campdrafter Josh Gibson. Josh has played over 200 AFL games, with 3 Premierships under his belt, and he's been awarded Best and Fairest not once, but twice!What compels someone to leave the glory of the AFL to navigate the humbling world of horses? And is Kym feeling threatened by Dan's new mate?This is a podcast with a guy who earned his fame on the footy field, but it's an inspiring and motivating tale that illustrates what it takes to be a great student of horsemanship. Dan and Josh draw some interesting parallels between the lessons we learn on the field and in the field, and Dan begins to share some insights about his experiences as a teacher. The intro is almost as long as the interview, but Kym's comments are worth it.There are so many pearls of wisdom on offer as Dan unpacks the behaviours and psychology of someone who aspires to be great, and, most importantly, great with horses.

 This week we stop for a brief intermission in the Double Dan timeline to share the spotlight with our mate and co-host Kym Hagon. Kym has absolutely become a fan favourite, and we discuss his life as a vet and his uni days with the most famous vet of all, Dr Chris "Brownie" Brown.

Who's more likely to start a fight - Dan, Dan, or ... Elizabeth? In this episode Dan James recounts on of his most memorable shows; the one that brought a full house to tears, and we pay tribute to the ANZACs. The guys reveal the moment the "Double Dans" was coined, which leads them to reflect on their first show with their new image. We meet more of their mentors, but Dan James still ends up in a wheelie bin in his jocks. These are "two knock about blokes with a high level of horsemanship" and they're sharing that with you, here on the Double Dan Podcast.
