Eagleworks is a Shark Tank style innovation and entrepreneurship competition at Tennessee Tech where students develop an idea and pitch it to judges for a chance to win $10,000. The purpose of this podcast is to educate and prepare students for the Eagleworks competition. Each week, we'll cover the important topics that you'll need to know to be successful in the competition and as an entrepreneur.

You could win $1,000 for your elevator pitch in the Eagle Works Idea Challenge on November 10th. An elevator pitch is a short description of an idea, product, or company that explains the concept in a way such that any listener can understand it in a short period of time. On this episode, you'll hear from special guest Bailee Kauffman who won the Idea Challenge last year; and, learn how to develop a compelling elevator pitch.
The Business Model Canvas (BMC) is a one-page document that helps you to organize your idea on paper. On today's episode, learn more about the importance of the BMC from Jeff Brown, president of The Biz Foundry, Cookeville's entrepreneurship center.
