We are not a family of sports fans but we do go back to 1919 in the Elevator of History to discuss the 1919 World Series between the Chicago White Sox and the Cincinatti Reds. We talk about how some players agreed to lose for money, some players weren't entirely sure what they agreed to and eventually saw baseball install a commissioner that banned all eight men involved forever. It changed the sport of baseball and while there have been other scandals in the sport, none felt as big or as impactful. Three Key Takeaways Averaging beats snapshots. A single year of harvest data can be wildly skewed by a low tag allocation or a random survey year. Looking at 3-year, 5-year, and all-time averages side by side — and watching whether a unit's score is trending up or down — tells you far more than last year's numbers alone. In Montana, buying a bonus point can hurt you. Mark's tool surfaced something almost nobody talks about: hunters with zero points had roughly a 53% draw chance in some units, while hunters with a single fractional point dropped to 0%, because a set percentage of tags are reserved specifically for zero-point applicants. Understanding your state's fractional point system can change your entire application strategy. "Go high" isn't a universal rule — moisture matters more. The common advice to push to the highest elevation in September doesn't always hold. In dry years, the grass at the top dies off first, and cows follow the moisture downhill toward better feed. Tracking soil moisture data for a basin can tell you more about where elk will actually be than elevation alone.

Kid and El Pres open the show like a pair of retirees trapped in a padded room, negotiating temperature, mattresses, and whether the studio is cold enough to preserve meat.  That leads into Kid's latest AI music experiment: feed a chatbot the DNA of gloomy, grinding hard rock, hand the description to Suno, and wait for the machine to produce eight minutes of strip-club entrance music with mystery vocals nobody requested.  The robots can imitate the mood, but apparently "instrumental" is still open to interpretation. From there, the conversation checks in on aging, testosterone supplements, cholesterol medication, disappearing erections, and the increasingly complicated maintenance schedule required to keep a middle-aged man operational.  Baseball provides temporary shelter as Will Clark and Eric Byrnes spark a discussion about players who once traded hitting advice over beers but now retreat to hotel rooms and video games.  Kid argues that people find time for whatever they genuinely want—whether that's baseball, summer hobbies, or avoiding their responsibilities with professional-level dedication. The sports talk expands into a full soccer dismissal, followed by a youth-baseball coach whose mound visits sound more like a roast at a failing strip club. That raises the episode's recurring question: Is anything online genuine anymore, or was the funny part dubbed in afterward?  Ring cameras, edited clips, AI fakery, and everybody's instant courtroom opinion make reality feel like another piece of content waiting for somebody to slap a watermark on it. El Pres brings in family history involving his late father's former wife, one final pre-marriage hookup, and the uncomfortable possibility that being his father's son may be more literal than anyone needed explained.  The show then detours through flexible adult performers, pronoun arguments, an absurd alphabet-soup satire clip, anger-management irony, political stupidity, and a fake investigation into whether one strategically deployed fart can alter a man's entire sexual destiny. Grok gets dragged into the mess when Kid asks his British AI companion to explain an emerging fascination with women farting in elevators. The bot attempts a reasonable explanation involving exposure and reinforcement before being ordered into "goblin mode," proving that artificial intelligence may eventually destroy civilization—but first it has to survive customer service. The final stretch turns unexpectedly thoughtful as the guys discuss Sony, disappearing game discs, rented software, streaming libraries, subscription traps, and the difference between possessing a physical object and merely receiving permission to access it.  AI gives creative people more tools than ever while simultaneously making creativity feel exhausting, disposable, and dependent on somebody else's server. Then the computer crashes, the show ends early, and technology delivers the strongest rebuttal of the episode.
