I did many things that helped me to overcome postpartum anxiety and depression... but my most powerful routine was prayer, devotion and having strong faith in God! I knew I would get better. He is really who helped me to come out of the trenches when I felt like I wasn't gonna make it. God pulled me up on my feet and that's what led me here to wanting to help more women get through this. I had a vision that this was my calling. In the moments when I was in the most pain and in the depths of darkness... my faith in God was a light at the end of the tunnel.

This episode is very short and simple. It comes from a question that I thought should be brought to light. This discussion is specifically surrounding the issues that are currently taking place in our societies, as well as the alarming statistics... why they may be increasing and how we can better prepare/educate our mothers long before they actually give birth.

    Mental Health is Health

Mental health matters. It is a part of your overall health. Health is not just about what you're eating, if you're exercising or if you even lost weight - it's more than that. It is about every aspect of your life coming together, full circle. In this episode, I will be talking specifically about mental health in this episode. In my opinion, people are disconnecting mental health with your overall health and not realizing that it is a part of your Health. In my some senses it can even be looked at as one of the most important parts because a lot of things begin in our mind. What we tell ourselves, the words we speak, who/what we're interacting with, who we keep in our circle.... all of these things affect your mental health. Whether it be good or bad. Mental health matters - don't let anyone tell you different.

Transitioning into Motherhood and Releasing Limiting Beliefs

In my opinion, Motherhood is a calling a, a path, & an ongoing journey. We learn, we cry, we win, we fail, but we keep going. Most mothers want to be an example for their children. To me the only way to truly do this is to practice what you preach. If you're holding unto self-doubt, lacking self-worth, have a low self esteem, talk bad about yourself, or just don't love yourself.... what do you think your kids will see, hear, learn and then practice? Only by removing these unwanted layers or releasing these limiting beliefs about yourself - can you truly be a reflection of who you want them to grow up to be. Children that love and believe in themselves, has to start knowing this at home. If you've struggled with some of what I talk about in this podcast, please know that you're not alone and it's not going to be perfect at all! We all go through phases and stages. But, I would like you to think about “what example you are being to your kids?” And, “are you letting go of the things you don't want to take into your future?”

A mother incorporating self-care around her kids schedules, requires her to plan and manage her time. She also needs support from her family, and this could be by holding the kids while she does that. But the most important part of that is SELF WORTH. Knowing and believing that she is WORTH self-care.
