As Richland 2nd graders research their chosen president, they're sharing fun facts they think EVERYONE should know. Maybe you will learn something new from a 2nd grader?!
This is the 1st graders review of Lulu Walks the Dog, including our favorite parts. WARNING- it does include some spoilers!
Second graders from Kellogg Elementary took a picture walk through Jaden Toussaint Episode 2 then made guesses about what they think this book will be about. It is interesting for them because there is a word "Ladek" in the title and we do not know what that means, yet. Students then discussed what is similar and different about Episode 1 and Episode 2 and what seems to be different. Finally, the students wanted to let the author, Marti Dumas know what they think about the books so far!

Finally, students noticed that the author is listening to our podcast and wanted to let her know a few things they had on their mind.

Kellogg 1st graders were told what the title of their new book and nothing else! They then had to visualize what they thought this book might be about. After our podcast they were given the book Lulu Walks the Dog and they started to read. Next week we will discuss chapters 1-3.

Students at Richland Elementary were TOLD the title of the book (and some were sneaky enough to catch a glimpse of the cover) from there they visualized what THEY thought this book would be about! They drew out their ideas or wrote them down, to capture the idea so they can remember what they originally thought the story would be about. Directly after our Podcast they were allowed 10 minutes to start reading about Lulu! This will be a fun podcast to look back on when we finish our book club book!

These are our first impressions of Jaden Toussaint The Greatest Episode 1: The Quest For Screen Time. Everyone agrees the pictures look AWESOME and the prologue is very cool! Students started to sneak read the first chapter while we were recording, they just couldn't wait!
