I'm amazed at how much Democrats can steal. And they are blatant about it. And they pretend their thievery is to help the underprivileged, but we explore their creative thievery in this hour. Also, we delve into the pathology of the Party of MurderSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Dodgers stayed hot, crushing Game #2 with big bats and post-game insights from David Vassegh. Off the field, a disturbing crime scene unfolded as police arrested a woman for murder after a body was found inside a car at a South L.A. tow yard. Meanwhile, Jane Goodall's lifelong love for dogs sparked a lighter conversation about how people bring pets everywhere including a fan who even took his dog to the Dodgers game. And in global sports news, Los Angeles will shine on the world stage, hosting eight matches during the 2026 FIFA World Cup at SoFi Stadium.

"What would you do if you stumbled upon a mysterious chest behind your place of business—open it, run away, or crawl inside?"That's the bizarre question that kicks off this segment of The Ben and Skin Show. Ben Rogers, Jeff “Skin” Wade, Kevin “KT” Turner, and Krystina Ray. What starts as a casual morning stroll turns into a full-blown investigation into a suspicious box that could be a treasure chest… or a pleasure chest. KT's quick wit earns him MVP status with the line: “Or you could open it up and find out it's just sex toys in there and it'd be a pleasure chest.”From there, the gang spirals into hilarious speculation—dead bodies, Sea of Thieves gold, and even a Pulp Fiction-style Gimp scenario.

In this bonus episode Sebastian answers questions from listeners about the recent series on the Parthenon Marbles. The host tangles with the ethics of repatriation requests from notorious dictators, the role of the Parthenon Marbles in inspiring the Greek Independence movement, and the path towards a true "universal museum." Sebastian also wrangles with the notorious "If I don't do it, somebody else will" argument that is often used to defend Lord Elgin. This week in Sea of Thieves, it's time for the Gold Hoarders to sit down and have a discussion on the second act of Season 17! We spend most of our time discussing the actual event and how things are progressing. I was really happy to have as many folks as we did this episode, and I wish we had an opportunity to talk more about weapons swapping and FOV changes to the game. There's definitely going to be a lot of discussion on the table for next month, as it will most likely be after the last update for the season! Deepest apologies. Those responsible have been sacked. Hedgehogs are one of the stranger mammals you might encounter. They're nocturnal, they hibernate, they're prone to rolling into a ball when frightened, and they're extremely vulnerable to habitat loss. While some of you will undoubtedly have first thought of Sonic, others might have thought of Mrs Tiggywinkle from the Beatrix Potter books. Either way, those are quite positive associations. I've been feeding hedgehog visitors to my garden since June 2023, and I find them charming, adorable, and slightly idiosyncratic. Yet in the past, hedgehogs have had a much more sinister reputation that they certainly didn't deserve. People linked them with witches, the devil, and even fruit theft. Episode 543 - Todd Bearden, Green Turtle Brewery Happy Monday, Thieves! Back at the Hotel Karol lobby bar this week - although it feels more like a business center. Amid all the insurance brokers in town for a conference Augie and John sit down with Todd Bearden, the owner of Green Turtle. It recently opened, having taken over the former Cycle Brewing Spot in St. Pete. Todd Bearden earned his BFA in Lighting Design and began his career bringing stories to life on and off Broadway before transitioning into the world of film and television. About 15 years ago, while living in Florida, he discovered a new creative outlet—homebrewing. Over the years, he honed his craft, winning awards in competitions, serving as a judge at numerous homebrew events, and absorbing wisdom from The Brewing Network, where mentors Jamil Zainasheff and the late Mike “Tasty” McDole helped shape his brewing philosophy. After years in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, Todd decided it was time to return to Florida and pursue a long-held dream. Two years of planning and passion culminated in the opening of Green Turtle Brewery & Public House in downtown St. Petersburg. Opened just a month ago, the brewery specializes in traditional cask ales served on beer engines alongside a range of classic beer styles—bringing together Todd's dedication to craft, tradition, and community in a warm, English pub-inspired setting. Thanks to Visit St. Pete-Clearwater for hosting us in the area and the Hotel Karol for lodging and excellent breakfast potatoes. ***As always, you can email your questions, complaints, whimpers, or whines to us at stealthisbeerpodcast@gmail.com. This week in Sea of Thieves, it's time we get some details on the upcoming month-long event for the game. I had the opportunity to experience it on Insiders, and some initial thoughts are worth discussing when it's released later this week. There are some updates regarding Twitch Drops, given the confusion about who can provide them, which sparks a soapbox tangent and some valuable information about the next Sea of Thieves Fest, set to take place in England in 2026. On this episode, Liv Hoselton, an indie bookseller in Chicago, talks about their impulse to dive deep into the horrors of the world to better understand them, how their teachers and librarians were so impactful for their reading life, and one of our shared favorites that kids just aren't interested in (much to our chagrin). I anticipate you'll also be surprised at how engrossing Liv's description of the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald is and it might make you want to read that book. Milt and Dave fired up the Time Machine and landed smack in September of 1991, when mullets were plentiful and Blockbuster late fees could bankrupt you. We're running down the box-office champs—from Arnold blowing stuff up in Terminator 2 to Billy Crystal roping cattle in City Slickers, with pit stops at Woody Harrelson's baby-faced cameo in Doc Hollywood and the horror sequels nobody really asked for. Along the way, we: Trade war stories about seeing these flicks in sticky-floored theaters. Act out scenes like idiots (you're welcome). Dish out Rotten Tomatoes scores and wildly unfair judgments. Wonder aloud why The Commitments still slaps and why Dead Again deserved more love. Debate whether Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves is epic or just Kevin Costner cosplaying with a bad accent. And yes—some of these movies aged like fine wine (T2), while others… let's just say they've turned to vinegar (Child's Play 3, I'm looking at you). Episode Breakdown 00:00 – Bickering & Banter 01:19 – Dave apologizes for… something. Again. 02:17 – Nostalgia bomb: our '91 movie memories 03:56 – The countdown begins 07:20 – The Commitments review 17:27 – Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves 27:44 – City Slickers 38:40 – The Doctor 45:47 – Child's Play 3 (spoiler: nope) 47:03 – Box office chatter & that weird UK crime link 51:40 – Doc Hollywood + baby Woody Harrelson 58:25 – Hot Shots! (Charlie Sheen's golden era) 01:08:10 – Terminator 2 drops the hammer 01:16:40 – Dead Again review 01:23:09 – Freddy's Dead autopsy 01:31:28 – Winner of the Week & closing thoughts It's loud, it's nostalgic, it's a little snarky—just another ride in the Top 10 Time Machine.

Those who lived in New York during the '70s and '80s knew to carry around “mugger money”: a small wad of bills kept handy on the assumption you'd eventually be mugged. While New York has improved since then, the concept of “mugger money” remains alive and well in Hollywood. The managers with non-writing producer credits, pilot directors with perpetual royalties, agents' 10 percent and lawyers' 5 percent — showbiz is built off people smart enough to get some for themselves. But, as Rob Long notes, with budgets shrinking and spending slowing, even the pickpockets are getting squeezed. Transcript here. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Brian Reader made his name as “The Guv'nor” in the 1960s and 70s by pulling off daring, Ocean's Eleven-style heists that turned him into a tabloid sensation. By the 2010s, his glory days were long gone – but when the lure of one final big score proved irresistible, Reader and a crew of aging criminals plotted one last job over Easter weekend in 2015. But the heist that was meant to cement their legend instead turned into a tabloid spectacle – and the downfall of a man who couldn't leave his past behind.Be the first to know about Wondery's newest podcasts, curated recommendations, and more! Episode 542 - Kevin Shanks, Troubled Waters Brewing Happy Monday, Thieves! Troubled Waters Brewing was founded by a father and son duo, Steve and Kevin Shanks. While both grew up in Chicago, they have strong family roots in Safety Harbor, FL. Kevin's Great Aunt moved to Safety Harbor in the 60s when she built a house. She was involved in the local community and even sold the Chamber of Commerce building to the Chamber. Kevin's Grandparents often visited her, and when they retired, they purchased a house down the street from her. Steve and Kevin have personally been visiting Safety Harbor for more than 30 years. Around 2009 Steve moved to Safety Harbor after retiring and Kevin made the jump in 2016. After some time working in the Cigar City tasting room, Kevin and Steve decided to set out on their own and open up Troubled Waters Brewing Company. They are now five years into the project. Willie Nelson left Nashville and reinvented himself in Austin, Texas as the ultimate outsider. It was a metamorphosis from freak flag flier to mainstream mainstay that is rife with tales of drug smuggling, arson, and international run-ins with Johnny Law. Not to mention a lifelong association with grifters, con men, and thieves, and how that led not only to one of the most publicized busts of a superstar in the 20th century, but also to an extended family fueled by karma and loyalty.
