Hi my name is Adam Davis and I'm the producer and game master for “To DnD or Not to DnD,” a table-top role playing game podcast where we, a rotating group of stage actors from Indianapolis, like to showcase both the fun and deep lore building that can be done with a long term table top role playing game campaign, as well as the outstanding character work and ingenuity that a shorter campaign can have as well. We accomplish this by, once at the beginning month releasing a DnD episode, that's the “to DnD” part of our name, in a long running campaign setting of my and my players own creation. Then, in the middle of the month, we release an episode dedicated to a shorter, one-shot campaign, that sometime stretches over several episodes, and sometimes wraps up in just over an hour. The selection we have for you is of the latter, an episode where we play through “The Witch is Dead” with part of our regular cast as well as with a guest cast member, to show you just how adaptable a game can be with the rolls of a few dice, and based upon who's at the table. Thank you so much for checking us out, and I hope you enjoy our “Not to DnD” episode, “The Witch is Dead – Cosmic Brownies and Ice Cream.” cw: sexual references, language, violence, body horror No transcript available. https://dndornot.com Socials: https://www.instagram.com/dndornot/

Carrageenan is a food additive extracted from red seaweed. It is used as a thickening agent, emulsifier, and stabilizer in a wide variety of processed foods, including dairy products, meat products, baked goods, and beverages. There is some concern that carrageenan may be harmful to human health. Studies in animals have shown that carrageenan can cause inflammation, digestive problems, and even colon cancer. However, the evidence for these effects in humans is less clear. One of the main concerns about carrageenan is that it can be degraded into a more harmful form called poligeenan. Poligeenan is a known carcinogen, but it is not clear how much poligeenan is present in food-grade carrageenan. Another concern is that carrageenan may interfere with the body's ability to absorb nutrients. Some studies have shown that carrageenan can reduce the absorption of iron, zinc, and calcium. Overall, the evidence for the safety of carrageenan is mixed. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved carrageenan for use in food, but some scientists and health experts believe that it should be avoided. If you are concerned about the potential health risks of carrageenan, you can try to avoid foods that contain it. Carrageenan is often listed on food labels, but it may also be listed under other names, such as "seaweed extract" or "food additive." Here are some tips for avoiding carrageenan: Read food labels carefully. Choose whole foods over processed foods. Avoid foods that contain seaweed extract or food additives. Make your own food at home whenever possible. If you have any health concerns, be sure to talk to your doctor. They can help you decide whether or not you should avoid carrageenan.

As a little girl, Kenedi loves eating ice cream, drawing stories about her family's chickens, and playing with her sister. But at age 7, after feeling sick for some time, a cancer diagnosis upended Kenedi's life. Despite being the top disease-related cause of death for children, pediatric cancers are still considered rare. As with most rare diseases, childhood cancer receives far less research funding compared with more common cancers. The consequence? Fewer breakthroughs or treatment options for patients. Even so, elevated investment in childhood cancer research has provided a lifeline for kids like Kenedi, ultimately increasing their odds of survival. Funded by a Conquer Cancer grant, her own oncologist, Dr. Wendy Allen-Rhoades, dedicated significant effort to identifying warning signs signaling the presence of sarcoma cells in the body. This donor-supported research resulted in a clinical trial that ultimately — and successfully — informed Kenedi's treatment. By age 8, Kenedi was in remission. In our latest Your Stories podcast, Dr. Allen-Rhoades talks to host Brenda Brody about caring for Kenedi, why raising awareness and funds for childhood cancer research is so critical, and how supporting Conquer Cancer helps pediatric oncologists and the children they treat.

This episode is a story about one of the best things in life -- ice cream, and it's plant based for all the good reasons!  Listen and learn how this co-founders couple Nicole and Dwight conjured their sons' milk allergy into the joy ice cream brings into any family.  Co-founder, father and chef, Dwight Campbell has exhaustive culinary skills -- serving steak dinners for 500 on a given evening. He experimented and tinkered with almonds and then cashews to create a plant-based ice cream recipe. Co-founder, mother and entrepreneur, Nicole Foster who is a lawyer and plant forward eater has harnessed this delicious dessert into an ice cream shop, and now is scaling up with a copacker. It's engenuity, resourcefulness and perserverence!   The journey started in Baltimore and like so many Baltimore-firsts is stepping up to serve culturally creative flavors as an outpouring of their Jamaican heritage and their sophisticated global outlook.  This episode reflects two pillars of the Six Pillars of Business Success. Pillar 1 -- brand and strategy, and Pillar 5 -- their ability to secure their co-packing and packaging which leads to many avenues of distribution.

Jeni Britton began making ice cream in 1996, as a 22-year-old art history student obsessed with scent. In her spare time, she studied perfuming and experimented with making her own essential oils. On a whim one day, she added cayenne to a tub of chocolate ice cream. When she tasted the combination of cold, sweet and spice, she knew she was going to make ice cream for the rest of her life. The rest is history.     Jeni Britton is an American ice cream maker and entrepreneur. A pioneer of the artisan ice cream movement, she introduced a modern, ingredient-driven style of ice cream making that has been widely emulated across the world but never duplicated.    In this episode, Jeni shares her journey of leaving art school to create an ice cream empire devoted to making the finest ice creams the world has ever known. From her tenacity to take creative risks to the grit and determination to navigate her business through a time of crisis, Jeni's story is an inspiring testament to the power of perseverance, pushing boundaries, and staying true to your entrepreneurial vision.   Key Points:   Starting small and building slowly Taking a hands on approach to building a business Prioritizing people, vision and values Resources/Links:  Learn More about Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream Discover more about The Entrepreneur's Studio Read The Transcript  Instagram Watch Full Episodes of The Entrepreneur's Studio on YouTube.   Credits:  The Entrepreneur's Studio is powered by Heartland Payment Systems.
