We do SO much inside Vestibular Group Fit! So much that I'm not even sure how to talk about it half the time. For example… we have a book club! We recently read The Way Out. It's a book by Alan Gordon about chronic pain, which parallels a lot of useful concepts to look at chronic dizziness. So many members in VGF love this book and when they first read it go “WOW I feel seen!” So… let's talk about it. In this episode, we'll dig into: Why The Way Out is a book that's relevant to dizziness How the body interprets pain What the pain reprocessing theory is How the pain-fear-pain cycle keeps you stuck How the concept of miswiring for chronic pain is similar to chronic dizziness The differences between chronic pain and chronic dizziness What to remember about mindset as new pathways develop This is a great book that explains a nuanced topic very well in easy-to-read language, and has many parallels to dizziness that makes this a great resource for anyone with a vestibular disorder! I get a ton of people wondering if they'll be able to travel or drive or [insert your activity here] again. The answer is always and consistently: YES. The thing you have to note is that it will take time, consistency, and the right tools. VGF member, Diana, was able to take an 8-day trip out-of-the-country! Grab the tools she and hundreds of other members have used to get back to the things they so desperately wanted to. → JOIN VESTIBULAR GROUP FIT! CannCon, Ashe in America, and Colonel Towner Watkins continue their analysis of Stolen Elections, working through Chapter 13 and its expanding claims around election infrastructure, data manipulation, and alleged foreign and domestic coordination. As the chapter attempts to connect technical systems with broader conclusions about control and influence, the hosts slow things down and examine each claim against how election systems actually function. The conversation focuses on the growing complexity of the narrative, particularly how technical language is used to support sweeping conclusions. The hosts question whether the chapter is building a coherent case or layering assumptions on top of misunderstood systems. Throughout the discussion, they emphasize the importance of distinguishing between what is technically possible, what is provable, and what is simply asserted without evidence. As the breakdown continues, Chapter 13 becomes less about presenting new information and more about testing whether the story being told can withstand basic scrutiny.

CannCon, Ashe in America, and Colonel Towner Watkins continue their breakdown of Stolen Elections, examining a chapter that introduces sweeping claims about foreign influence, voting machines, and election infrastructure. As the hosts walk through the material, they question the logic and sourcing behind allegations involving Venezuela, China, Iran, and Cuba. The discussion focuses heavily on how the book presents technical claims about poll books, voting machines, and election software. The panel compares those claims with publicly known election equipment and processes, pointing out contradictions and factual errors along the way. From diagrams suggesting global control networks to explanations about flashcards and voting hardware, the hosts repeatedly challenge whether the narrative holds up under scrutiny. Throughout the episode, the conversation turns into a deeper examination of how complex election systems can be misunderstood or misrepresented, and why careful research is necessary when making claims about election infrastructure.
CannCon, Ashe in America, and Colonel Towner Watkins continue their deep dive into Stolen Elections with Chapter 11, unpacking the book's claims about Sidney Powell, Rudy Giuliani, alleged Venezuelan engineering of U.S. elections, and the so-called “Fish Tank” source code vault. The trio examines internal contradictions in the narrative, the timeline of events following the 2020 election, and the whistleblowers' evolving story about FBI and DOJ briefings. From meetings at the Trump Hotel to allegations of compromised investigations, Chapter 11 becomes less about what happened and more about how the story is being told. The discussion highlights inconsistencies surrounding Smartmatic, Chinese and Iranian involvement, and the handling of supposed evidence. As always, the panel approaches the material critically, questioning motives, missing details, and narrative shifts that raise more questions than answers. If you thought this chapter would bring clarity, think again.
In Chapter 10 of Stolen Elections, CannCon, Ashe in America, and Colonel Towner Watkins continue their methodical breakdown of election systems, focusing on the mechanisms and legal frameworks that govern ballot security and chain of custody. The discussion centers on documented procedural failures, discrepancies in oversight, and the statutory requirements that were allegedly bypassed or inconsistently enforced. The hosts walk through specific examples outlined in the chapter, examining how signature verification, observer access, and administrative rule changes affected public confidence. Colonel Towner provides strategic and structural insight into how election safeguards are supposed to function versus how they were implemented in practice. The conversation remains grounded in the book's documented claims, emphasizing timelines, affidavits, and legal arguments presented within the chapter. Rather than broad speculation, the episode highlights the author's evidence-based assertions and the constitutional questions raised about authority, transparency, and accountability. Chapter 10 advances the larger thesis of Stolen Elections by detailing how procedural deviations, once normalized, can fundamentally alter electoral integrity.
In this episode of Badlands Book Club, CannCon and Ashe in America are joined by Colonel Towner Watkins as they continue working through Stolen Elections, covering the next section of the book and unpacking its claims in real time. The discussion revisits allegations surrounding Venezuela, cartel activity, Chinese money laundering, and narco-trafficking, with the hosts challenging the sourcing, math, and logic presented in the text. As the chapter shifts toward Smartmatic, Sequoia, Dominion, and international election contracts, the panel scrutinizes assertions about corporate ownership, offshore registrations, CFIUS investigations, and the role of figures like Lord Mark Malloch-Brown. They compare the book's claims to publicly available records, question the reliance on unnamed whistleblowers, and dissect the interview excerpts used as evidence. Throughout the episode, the hosts emphasize the difference between documented proof and layered hearsay, pushing back on what they argue is narrative framing rather than substantiated fact. The result is a detailed, point-by-point analysis of the book's claims and the broader story it attempts to tell about elections and foreign influence.
In Chapter 8 of Stolen Elections, CannCon, Ashe in America, and special guest Colonel Towner Watkins dissect the explosive claims surrounding the so-called “Cartel del Sol.” What begins as a discussion of Hugo Chávez's constitutional reforms quickly turns into a deep examination of the timeline, contradictions, and shifting narratives surrounding Venezuela, the FARC, and U.S. intelligence operations. The trio scrutinizes allegations that Venezuela became the epicenter of the world's largest drug trafficking organization, challenging the internal inconsistencies in the book's sourcing and the evolving origin story of the cartel's name. They question how rival cartels were supposedly “defeated,” how drug operations expanded so rapidly, and why arrests occurred if the activity was state-sanctioned. Along the way, they highlight discrepancies in indictments, DEA reports, and claims about international influence. With sharp analysis and pointed skepticism, this chapter dives into the mechanics of narrative building, the politics of drug war accusations, and the broader geopolitical implications tied to Venezuela's leadership and U.S. involvement.
In Chapter 7 of Badlands Book Club, hosts CannCon and Ashe in America are joined by special guest Colonel Towner for a detailed examination of Venezuela as presented in Stolen Elections. The discussion focuses on Hugo Chávez's rise to power, disputed claims surrounding democratic legitimacy, and the broader historical context often omitted from mainstream narratives. Together, they unpack the book's treatment of U.S. intelligence involvement, sanctions, oil nationalization, Cuban influence, and the framing of authoritarianism versus foreign intervention. The conversation highlights contradictions in timelines, contested allegations of election manipulation, and how economic pressure and narrative shaping are portrayed as contributing to Venezuela's collapse. Particular attention is given to how history is written, which actors benefit from selective framing, and what gaps in the record suggest when viewed through a geopolitical and military lens. This chapter-driven discussion emphasizes critical reading, historical context, and the importance of questioning accepted explanations.
In Chapter 6 of Stolen Elections, CannCon and Ashe in America are joined by Colonel Towner for a deep analysis of the Frank Holder chapter, questioning the credibility, sourcing, and narrative tactics used to frame Holder as a rogue actor. The discussion walks through claims of intelligence failures, alleged double and triple agents, and the lack of verifiable evidence supporting sweeping accusations made throughout the chapter. As the group breaks down assertions presented as fact, they explore the role of anonymous sources, questionable documentation, and how intelligence agencies are portrayed in ways that contradict standard operational realities. This episode continues the methodical dismantling of the book's claims, emphasizing critical thinking, sourcing discipline, and the difference between documented evidence and “trust me” storytelling.
CannCon and Ashe in America are joined by Colonel Towner for a deep dive into Chapter 5 of Stolen Elections, continuing a detailed critique of the book's central claims surrounding Venezuelan election interference. The discussion systematically breaks down assertions about Smartmatic, Sequoia, and Dominion, questioning timelines, source code claims, and the credibility of so-called whistleblowers repeatedly cited throughout the chapter. The panel examines alleged DOJ investigations, the role of intelligence agencies, and inconsistencies tied to money laundering cases, coup attempts, and U.S. political figures used to bolster the book's narrative. Particular attention is given to how language like “fundamentally the same” is used to imply proof without evidence, along with scrutiny of charts, slides, and unnamed sources presented as authoritative. Throughout the episode, the hosts emphasize logical gaps, historical context, and technical misunderstandings, challenging listeners to separate documented fact from insinuation as the chapter's argument increasingly unravels.
In this episode of Badlands Book Club, CannCon and Ashe in America are joined by Colonel Towner for an in-depth discussion centered on Stolen Elections by Ralph Pizzulo. Rather than moving directly into Chapter 5, the group revisits and recaps Chapters 1 through 3, examining the book's central claims, sources, and narrative structure. The conversation focuses heavily on the book's portrayal of CIA involvement, alleged whistleblowers, election manipulation narratives, and claims surrounding Venezuela, Bolivia, Nicaragua, and U.S. foreign policy operations. Colonel Towner provides detailed critiques of factual inaccuracies, missing documentation, and questionable assertions, particularly regarding intelligence agencies, counterterrorism operations, and election systems. The hosts scrutinize the book's reliance on unnamed sources, lack of redactions, and internal contradictions, while contrasting the claims with historical context and firsthand experience. The episode unfolds as a methodical breakdown of credibility, motive, and narrative construction, setting the stage for future chapters and deeper examination in upcoming episodes.

In this installment of Badlands Book Club, CannCon and Ashe in America work through Chapter 4 of Stolen Elections, focusing on the figure of Frank Holder and the web of intelligence, finance, and consulting firms described in the book. The discussion follows the chapter's progression, examining Holder's background, his ties to U.S. intelligence, Latin American operations, and his role within major due diligence and risk mitigation firms operating across governments, banks, and corporations. CannCon and Ashe unpack claims involving CIA assets, double and triple agent narratives, money laundering allegations, and the use of consulting firms as gatekeepers of public trust. The chapter also explores connections to Cuba, Venezuela, Argentina, Bolivia, and broader intelligence operations, raising questions about elections, corruption, and institutional accountability. Throughout the episode, the hosts critically analyze the book's framing, highlight contradictions within the narrative, and emphasize how Chapter 4 fits into the larger thesis presented in Stolen Elections.
In this episode of Badlands Book Club, the hosts continue their deep dive into Stolen Elections by Ralph Pizzulo, focusing on Chapter 3. The discussion walks through the criminal investigation framework presented in the book, examining claims surrounding Smartmatic, Sequoia, and Dominion voting systems. The conversation explores allegations of backdoor access, source code control, and the role of foreign actors, while questioning how U.S. institutions responded to known vulnerabilities. The hosts break down the book's assertions regarding election infrastructure, intelligence agency involvement, whistleblower testimony, and the broader implications for election integrity. Chapter 3 also introduces key figures tied to Venezuela's electoral system and traces how those connections allegedly intersect with U.S. elections. This episode follows the chapter's progression closely, unpacking its claims, narrative structure, and underlying assumptions as presented by the author.
In this Badlands Book Club episode, CannCon and Ashe in America kick off Book 4 with the introduction and first two chapters of Stolen Elections by Ralph Pezzulo. The discussion unpacks the book's central claims around election manipulation, whistleblowers, and the role of electronic voting systems, while openly questioning the narratives, timelines, and players presented. CannCon and Ashe approach the material with skepticism and an open mind, examining assertions about foreign influence, intelligence agencies, and the mechanics of election interference. They break down key themes from the introduction and early chapters, highlight points of agreement and contention, and set the stage for deeper analysis in future episodes, including calls for election transparency, paper ballots, and hand counts
CannCon and Ashe in America open Book 4 of Badlands Book Club with Smedley Butler's explosive anti-war classic War is a Racket, breaking down Butler's life, military career, and how a twice-decorated Marine Corps general became one of America's fiercest critics of war profiteering. They read and analyze the first chapters, highlighting Butler's blunt claim that war enriches the few while destroying the many, his examples of corporate greed masking as patriotism, and the staggering profits made by bankers, munitions makers, and industrialists during World War I. Ashe and CannCon compare Butler's era to today's military-industrial landscape, discuss the psychological and physical toll on veterans, and examine how propaganda, politics, and financial interests continue to shape public support for conflict. It's a sharp, eye-opening start to a book that proves shockingly relevant nearly a century later.
CannCon and Ashe in America wrap up the long-running journey through The Fourth Turning with the dramatic final chapters, breaking down generational “scripts,” crisis-era archetypes, and how each cohort, from GIs to Millennials, is positioned to shape the nation's future. The episode explores the book's warnings about national collapse, its hopes for a Golden Age, and the authors' sweeping take on cyclical history, memory spans, and the eternal return. CannCon and Ashe dig into the text's biggest claims, debate whether America is headed for destruction or renewal, and reflect on what the Fourth Turning means for the moment we're living in now. They also preview the next read, Smedley Butler's War Is a Racket, and discuss future Book Club picks as they officially put this massive work to rest.

CannCon and Ashe in America open this episode of the Badlands Book Club with the beginning of Chapter 11, Part 1 of The Fourth Turning, diving into Strauss and Howe's blueprint for how societies and individuals should prepare for a coming crisis era. They read through and discuss the authors' seasonal model of history, focusing on how America should “move with” the current unraveling, avoid outdated behaviors from prior eras, and begin quietly preparing for the demands of the next Fourth Turning. The chapter explores the dangers of linear thinking, the need to recognize the signs of a secular winter, and the importance of personal responsibility, civic renewal, cultural uplift, and institutional pruning before a crisis takes hold. Along the way, Ashe and CannCon relate the text to modern politics, media dysfunction, generational shifts, and the hijacking of societal cycles by today's ruling class, layering in humor, eye-rolls, personal stories, debate, and real-time reactions. They also discuss upcoming Book Club selections, holiday plans, and viewer chat, making this a dense but lively walkthrough of one of the most consequential chapters in the book.
CannCon and Ashe in America continue their deep dive into The Fourth Turning, unpacking Chapter 10, Part 2 with energy, humor, and hard-hitting analysis. This episode breaks down the generational archetypes, 13ers entering midlife, Millennials stepping into adulthood, and the emerging New Silent generation, and explores how each group shapes (and survives) the unfolding crisis era. Ashe and CannCon reflect on the accuracy of Strauss & Howe's predictions, from millennial collectivism and workplace shifts to Gen X's hardened pragmatism and the rising urgency for societal reconstruction. With sponsor breaks, personal anecdotes, boomer vs. 13er commentary, COVID-era parallels, and spirited discussions about culture, economics, duty, and the looming generational handoff, the hosts weave the book's themes into the present moment. This session marks the near-completion of the book, setting the stage for the final stretch of the series and the transition into the next title in the club.

In this gripping continuation of The Fourth Turning, CannCon and Ashe in America dive into Chapter 10 of Strauss and Howe's prophetic masterpiece, exploring how much of their “future history” has already come to pass. From 9/11 to COVID, government shutdowns, financial collapse, and even the concept of “polycrisis,” the hosts trace how the authors seemingly predicted America's unraveling in eerie detail. They dissect the generational archetypes...Boomers, Gen X, Millennials - and how each plays a role in the coming civic rebirth or collapse. Between laughs about “cougars,” Taco Bell runs, and the Great American Restoration Tour, Ashe and CannCon examine whether the crisis climax has already begun and what kind of America might emerge on the other side. Equal parts historical reflection and philosophical debate, this episode merges humor, scholarship, and faith in the way only Badlands Book Club can.
CannCon and Ashe in America return to the Badlands Book Club for Chapter 9 of The Fourth Turning, diving deep into “Fourth Turnings in History.” With humor, sharp analysis, and a few hurricane jokes, they unpack Neil Howe and William Strauss's theory that history moves in repeating cycles of crisis and renewal. From the War of the Roses to World War II, they trace how catalysts spark cultural rebirth and debate when America's current Fourth Turning began, 9/11, the 2008 crash, or something still unfolding. Ashe connects modern “intersectionality” and victim culture to cyclical social breakdowns, while CannCon draws parallels between COVID-era conformity and historical crises of authority. They explore the predictability of societal collapse, the role of global elites, and whether humanity's rhythm has been hacked. It's a rich blend of philosophy, history, and speculation, with plenty of Badlands banter and even a little pop culture thrown in.
CannCon and Ashe in America finally wrap up the epic Chapter 8 of The Fourth Turning, a dense, prophetic section that eerily mirrors the world of 2025. From the economic decay of the “13er generation” to the rise of millennial moralism and the illusion of modern progress, the hosts analyze how Strauss and Howe seemed to predict everything from the gig economy to COVID-era conformity. Ashe and CannCon explore how manipulated social engineering, centralized control, and generational cycles have shaped today's unraveling, and whether America is now entering the long-awaited “High” phase. With sharp humor, honest self-reflection, and classic Badlands banter, this chapter closes with insights into Y2K, 9/11, and the crises that redefined an era.
CannCon and Ashe in America continue their deep dive into The Fourth Turning with Part 2 of Chapter 8, exploring the Boomer generation's rise into midlife power and the cultural shifts that reshaped America. From the “yuppie” era and Reagan's political influence to the moral fervor and spiritual awakenings of the 1990s, Ashe and CannCon connect Strauss and Howe's generational theory to today's world with humor and sharp insight. They discuss the parallels between then and now—revived faith movements, the redefinition of family values, the culture wars, and the roots of modern polarization. The hosts also weave in their signature banter over fantasy football, gold prices, and soft disclosure ads, blending intellect with entertainment in classic Badlands fashion.

CannCon and Ashe in America tackle Chapter 8 of The Fourth Turning, diving into the unraveling era of 1984–2005 and the rise of America's culture wars. They explore how Reagan's “Morning in America” optimism masked deep societal fragmentation, from Apple's 1984 Super Bowl ad to the rise of niche identities and the collapse of shared civic trust. The conversation tracks how Americans shifted from collective institutions to personal fulfillment, spawning tribalism, declining faith in government, and the birth of a politics of meaning. From the O.J. Simpson trial to the Oklahoma City bombing, the chapter reveals how conspiracy theories, cultural clashes, and moral polarization redefined the era. CannCon and Ashe break down the generational archetypes, Silent, Boomer, Gen X, Millennial, and how each played a role in America's unraveling, setting the stage for the crises to come. With sharp insight and humor, they connect Strauss and Howe's theory to today's chaos, asking what lessons the unraveling holds for the storm ahead.
CannCon and Ashe in America continue their deep dive into The Fourth Turning by Strauss and Howe, unpacking the seismic cultural shifts of the Awakening era. From the GI Generation's confidence after WWII to the Silent Generation's contradictions and the Boomers' rebellious rise, this discussion draws striking parallels to today's upheavals. They trace how Vietnam, Watergate, civil rights battles, and shifting family dynamics set the stage for generational conflict and cultural realignment, while also exploring how children of the 1960s and 70s were shaped by fractured homes, Hollywood's anti-child narratives, and a society growing hostile to traditional structures. With humor, historical insight, and a sharp eye on how these cycles echo into the present, CannCon and Ashe help listeners see the patterns that repeat, and why understanding them matters now more than ever.
CannCon and Ashe in America continue their deep dive into The Fourth Turning with Chapter 7, exploring how the GI, Silent, and Boomer generations shaped America's trajectory from post–World War II prosperity into the turbulence of the Consciousness Revolution. They trace the rise of the GI “We Generation,” the Silent Generation's conformity and cautious prosperity, and the Boomers' emergence as the idealistic prophets of cultural change. From the optimism of the 1950s to the upheavals of the 1960s and 70s, the hosts map how each archetype responded to shifting challenges, laying the groundwork for the awakenings and crises to follow. Dense, thought-provoking, and highly relevant, this chapter brings historical rhythm into focus while hinting at where we might be headed today.
CannCon and Ashe in America continue their journey through The Fourth Turning, diving into Chapter 6, which explores the “American High” from 1946 to 1964. They discuss how post–World War II optimism, economic expansion, and the rise of suburbia shaped a generation, while also planting the seeds of conformity, consumerism, and cultural stagnation. The hosts highlight how generational archetypes shifted during this era, with the Lost Generation entering elderhood, GIs moving into midlife, and Boomers arriving as children. They unpack the authors' framework of turnings and constellations, exploring how historical cycles repeat and how manipulation by elites can alter their trajectory. Along the way, they connect these historical insights to today's political and cultural struggles, reflecting on the erosion of the family, the rise of globalist influence, and whether the natural rhythms of history can be delayed or redirected in the age of surveillance and propaganda. It's a thoughtful blend of history, prophecy, and present-day reflection that grounds the abstract theory of cycles in lived experience.
CannCon and Ashe in America continue their deep dive into The Fourth Turning, this time unpacking Chapter 5's exploration of generational cycles and historical rhythms. They discuss how crime, substance abuse, and cultural trends rise and fall across awakenings, unravelings, and crises, and why today's fentanyl epidemic may not fit neatly into past patterns. The hosts wrestle with questions about technology, propaganda, and whether elites exploit these cycles to manipulate society, connecting insights from Bernays to modern AI. They trace turning points from the Civil War through World War II to today, examining anomalies in history and the potential for another global reorganization in our time. With humor, personal anecdotes, and sharp analysis, this episode blends book study with big-picture reflections on America's past, present, and future.
