July has been an incredibly busy month with guests flying in to visit Montana here at Rasta Ranch with the sole intention of getting in a massive run with me in Glacier National Park. Justin De La Cruz is a power lifter and professional athlete from West Virginia and my latest "victim" to run 17 miles with me in the heat and elevation. The past 2 weeks have been challenging for me after the loos of two great people in my life in less than 3 days. I'm no stranger to loss or death but these rocked me. here's what I've learned over the last 14 days that have helped with my healing. It's been nearly 16 months since I moved out of the city and into the mountains at Rasta Ranch. My entire life has changed drastically, all for the better. I've logged hundreds of man hours over that time making this place great again. Here are just a few of the major lessons the land has taught me so far.
My training philosophy is 20 years in the making and is still changing... Its been a direct reflection of the experiences I've had throughout my athletic career and working with coaches that I've developed some of my own key principles that have allowed me to stay nearly injury-free and still able to compete at a high level today.
