In this electrifying episode, we sit down with Joe Diamond—The Midwest Mystic, America's Greatest Mind Reader, and world-record holder—for a mind-bending journey into the heart of mystery, intuition, and the unexplained.Hailed by Coast to Coast AM as America's Greatest Mind Reader and praised by Penn & Teller for performing “the kind of mentalism we like the best,” Joe Diamond has spent more than two decades transforming ordinary rooms into places of genuine wonder. A master of interactive mentalism who blends psychology, storytelling, clean comedy, and razor-sharp intuition, he has appeared on Penn & Teller: Fool Us, The Today Show, Netflix, Showtime, and countless other platforms. He's also the official Mind Reader at the haunted Maxwell Mansion in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, and a longtime artist-in-residence at the historic (and reportedly haunted) Dole Mansion. His most astonishing feat? Solving the world's largest corn maze—blindfolded—earning him a legitimate world record. In this conversation, Joe opens up about his personal paranormal encounters and shares thoughtful, grounded perspectives on high strangeness, hauntings, psychometry, spoon bending, and the thin line between performance and the genuinely unexplained. He reflects on the nature of mystery itself, the power of intuition, and why the unknown continues to captivate us.And yes—true to form—Joe brings the impossible into the room. Prepare for live mind-reading demonstrations that will leave you questioning what's possible and asking the same question his audiences always do: How did he know?Whether you're a lifelong skeptic, a believer in the paranormal, or simply someone who loves a great story and a jaw-dropping demonstration, this episode delivers goosebumps, laughter, and a profound sense of wonder.Gear up and get freaky with official Let's Get Freaky merchandise! Honest feedback, and deliberate practice are the foundations of real self improvement. Episode Summary In this episode, Big Keith and I chop it up with Jon Dufresne of Kinetic Consulting. We explore his ever-evolving approach to firearms training, dive into the challenges and realities of night vision for both civilians and law enforcement, and get his take on gear like ballistic helmets, ear protection mounts, and weapon lights. Plus, we discuss current events around drones, surveillance, and the impact of gun control legislation in New York and New Jersey. We also share some thoughts on the importance of setting goals, practicing regularly, and balancing technology and privacy in today's world. Call to Action 1. Kings River Custom – Artisan-quality, bespoke firearms and knives. Discover their craftsmanship at KingsRiverCustom.com Key Takeaways Jon's training philosophy treats curriculum as a living document, always updated with improvements and student feedback. "See The Night," Jon's night vision company, focuses on not just supplying night vision gear, but educating users with hands-on integration and white-glove service—mainly for law enforcement, but open to civilians. Deliberate, regular practice (even dry fire for 10 minutes a night) is essential—once-a-year training isn't enough, especially when it comes to high-stress situations like home defense or active shooter response. PCCs (Pistol Caliber Carbines) have limitations—reliability and performance at distance can be serious issues for both civilians and law enforcement. Weaponized Geometry is Jon's class tailored for solo, non-team room clearing, with emphasis on realistic expectations and skill development. Including your kids in training (even in dry fire!) builds healthy lifelong habits. Gear matters: things like helmet covers, counterweights, helmet-mounted lights, and ear protection mounts each have specific pros and cons—Jon breaks it all down. Drones, AI, and surveillance are a double-edged sword, increasing both convenience and risks to personal privacy. Legislative news: New Jersey's assault weapon and magazine ban overturned, and federal efforts push for American-made weapons to equip the military. In this episode of the Prolonged Field Care Podcast, Dennis sits down with Alex, CEO of Shannon Mechanics, a Ukrainian company that has produced more than 8,000 drag stretchers and over 330,000 immobilization splints for the front line since the full-scale invasion.Alex shares the raw story of how the company started with scrap materials and construction-store aluminum during the early chaos of 2022, scaled production while operating physically underground with independent power and battery-powered equipment, and refined products based on real soldier feedback. They discuss the BM splint (a more rigid, radiolucent alternative designed for Ukrainian conditions), the philosophy behind their rollable plastic drag stretcher optimized for one-person extraction under drone threat and complex terrain, quality control under resource constraints, the transition from pure volunteering to a sustainable business, and the deeper questions of dignity in life and death, PTSD, and long-term rehabilitation. This is practical, unfiltered insight into how medical manufacturing adapts when supply lines collapse, borders close, and every piece of gear has to work in the worst conditions imaginable.Key TakeawaysMedical equipment designed for true one-person drag evacuation becomes critical when vehicles and multi-person teams are unavailable under drone threat and destroyed terrain.Starting with simple, locally available materials (construction-store aluminum for splints) allowed rapid production when imports were impossible.Operating underground with independent power, internet, and battery-powered tools enables continuity during blackouts and air raids.Visual quality control plus a “donation pile” for minor cosmetic defects keeps functional gear moving to the front while supporting community needs.Sustainable production requires paying people and covering costs—pure volunteering burns out and collapses.Feedback loops from soldiers drive continuous product improvement (rigidity, size options, packing for NATO pouches).Beyond the gear itself, the conversation highlights the need for dignity in recovery of the wounded and the fallen, plus long-term psychological and prosthetic support for survivors.Chapters00:00 – Introduction & Disclaimer00:26 – Meet Alex: CEO of Shannon Mechanics01:15 – Company origins: Revolution of Dignity to 2014–202202:41 – Humble beginnings, scrap materials, and the siege of Kyiv04:55 – Building supply chains under closed borders07:18 – Starting with BM splints, then the Utah/drag stretcher08:06 – Material challenges and community-driven solutions11:20 – Learning the craft, teaching production, and favoring people over full automation13:26 – From volunteering to a sustainable business model16:21 – Quality control process for splints23:20 – Introducing the drag stretcher design philosophy24:02 – Why rigid NATO litters fail in modern Ukrainian conditions25:01 – One-person drag, complex terrain, drones, and secondary injury prevention28:15 – Limitations (sniper fire) and real-world evacuation stories (8 km drag, quad bike integration)30:32 – Hypothermia protection, mud/snow durability, and recovery of the fallen34:40 – PTSD as generational trauma and the need for long-term support40:00 – Managing supply chain volatility and building Ukrainian supplier capacity42:39 – What has allowed the company to succeed during warFor more content, go to www.prolongedfieldcare.orgConsider supporting us: patreon.com/ProlongedFieldCareCollective or www.lobocoffeeco.com/product-page/prolonged-field-care

On episode 121 of The Lowdown Radio Show Oregonian Brian Price joins Neil to talk all-things riding gear. Price, easily the biggest riding gear nerd we've ever met, has elevated choosing gear for motorcycling to far more than just grabbing a jacket from the closest on the way out the door. At least it should be more than that, according to Price, who has spent much of his professional life—he's also an online gear retailer—musing about the helmets on our heads and the gloves on our hands. If you've ever wondered about neck braces or airbags or the boots on our feet—boots, incidentally, are Price's obsession—it's a conversation that will, hopefully, prompt you to think far more critically about what's saving your skin. On today's podcast, the guys discussed the insane Edmonton weather we're having, Tyler's vacation plans, old Nation Gear designs, and much more. The guys kicked off this week's episode of Real Life with a run of topics that were not at all planned and completely random. Given that there is next to no Oilers news happening right now, the boys had the opportunity to wander into whatever topic they chose whether it was a good idea or not. From Tony Romo's legal situation to taking Ubers home from the bar to bossing robots around, the first segment of the podcast was all over the map and made no sense whatsoever.Changing gears, Tyler walked the boys through his upcoming holiday plans and how he's still not sure whether he'll be able to take his electric hummer on his road trip. Given that superchargers aren't overly plentiful in Alberta yet, the choice of taking his Hummer on the road is almost being stripped from him. That said, these are champagne problems to say the least. Will Tyler get sympathy from the audience? Unlikely. Finally, the guys wrapped up the podcast on the Thursday episode of Real Life with a run of topics, starting with a recap of old Nation Gear designs that Rick brought into the office from the archives, and how there have been some horrible designs. From there, the guys looked back in Oilers history and had a conversation about how bad some of the old Decade of Darkness seasons where despite ON being around the whole time.
When you get the gig playing auxiliary and utility guitar for a world-renowned Telecaster master like Brad Paisley, you run into a unique problem: How do you cover parts that include electric 12-string chime, and 6-string bass parts in a fast-paced live set without swapping guitars every single song?My solution? Build a monster, constructed out of late-90s Danelectro parts. In this video, I'm doing a deep-dive breakdown of my Frankenstein double-neck guitar. It features an electric 12-string on top and a baritone/6-string bass on the bottom. I'll walk you through how I sourced the late-90s Danelectro components to get that authentic lipstick-pickup chime, the unique challenges of piecing it together, the electronics/switching setup, and exactly how I'm using it out on the road during Brad's tour to fill out the live sonic landscape.GEAR & SPECS:Custom Double-Neck Specs: Built using late-90s Danelectro parts & lipstick pickups.Strings Used: D'AddarioSignal Chain: Mirage Comp, Sawdust Overdrive, Boss TR-2, Strymon El Capistan, 1968 Fender Princeton Reverb.www.truetone.comTo Support the Channel:Patreon https://www.patreon.com/AskZachttps://ask-zac-shop.fourthwall.comTip jar: https://paypal.me/AskZacVenmo @AskZac#DoubleNeckGuitar #Danelectro #BradPaisley #TourGear #GuitarBuild #12String #BaritoneGuitar #SixStringBass #Guitarist #GuitarTone #LiveMusic #GuitarDemo #LuthierSupport the show

In this episode of The Dept. Omar breaks down what it actually takes to raise your prices with confidence and conviction. Omar explains why raising your price does not always mean adding more deliverables, more calls, more bonuses, or more features. Instead, it starts with understanding what people are really buying when they say yes to your offer. This episode is for entrepreneurs, coaches, consultants, creators, service providers, real estate professionals, creatives, and business owners who know they are good at what they do, but need to communicate the value in a way that supports a higher price. If you want to stop undercharging, build more belief in what you sell, and learn how to make your offer feel more valuable without simply adding more stuff, this episode is for you.

Discover the game-changing strategies that seasoned elk hunter and expert scout Josh Sears uses to find elk year-round—no matter where you hunt, east or west. Whether you're new to hunting or a seasoned pro, this episode reveals how to interpret maps, identify key terrain features, and use satellite imagery to pinpoint the best spots before you even leave home. Josh Sears, founder of Boots on the Ground Services, shares his insider tips on e-scouting, including how to interpret topo lines, identify potential elk bedding areas, and navigate tricky terrain from thousands of miles away. He explains why north-facing slopes and benches are often elk magnets, how weather and seasonality impact elk movement, and why water sources are critical—even in dry months. Plus, learn how to adapt your scouting approach based on the time of year, weather conditions, and your hunting style. We break down specific tactics: dropping pins on remote high-elevation spots, understanding the significance of clear trails and sign, and factoring in pressure from other hunters. Josh reveals how to find alternative spots when your first plan gets overrun or cattle has grazed out your prime location. His advice on how to efficiently scout during a short trip or even during the season itself will make your next hunt more productive and less stressful. Whether you're planning a quick weekend trip or hunting a remote backcountry area, knowing these detailed scouting methods can mean the difference between filling your tag and coming home empty-handed. Lizzie Shilko launched Revi Gear, a Colorado ski helmet brand, in August 2025 — and spent her first season hand-delivering helmets out of her car trunk to shops across the state. She walks through the retail hustle that landed her first account, why customers make better sales reps than any sales force, and how a cold-email campaign — sent from a brand with no website, no funding, no logo — landed her a manufacturing partner.Lizzie also gets candid about the gap between her McKinsey background and founder life: no salary, no security, no manager to validate the work. She talks through the anxiety of founder-led social media, separating internal conviction from public comments, and why speed to market beat waiting to get it perfect.Approaching year one, she's shifting from sprint to endurance — fewer SKUs, more intentional growth. This week, down in the digital darkness we call THE BRIG, we have a prolific Boston based writer, director and sometimes star of such critically acclaimed shorts as Looker, Cup of Tea and the three films in the ever expanding Vitalus Universe. The films in this near future universe ("Subscribed", "The Rewind" and the upcoming "Proxy") warn of the potential dangers of emerging technologies that truly feel 100% POSSIBLE given our current real world trajectory. These are stories that raise uncomfortable moral quandaries while pointing out very believable ways that progress could go horribly horribly wrong. On this episode, Diana shares a ton of stories from her career as an indie filmmaker, hellbent on making uncompromising art with a message. This series highlights the highs and lows of hunting public land across different regions of America — the early mornings, the pressure, the competition, and the grind that comes with earning every bird.In this episode, Jeff Stanfield and Andy Shaver are joined by Blaine Becker from Iowa.Blaine shares stories from a lifetime of duck and goose hunting in Iowa, explaining what makes the Hawkeye State a premier destination for waterfowl hunters. He discusses the best times of the season to capitalize on migrating ducks, when he shifts his focus to Canada geese, and how changing weather and migration patterns influence his strategy throughout the fall.He also recounts one of the strangest moments he's ever experienced in the outdoors—an early morning turkey hunt interrupted by what sounded exactly like an ice cream truck making its way through the woods, leading to an eerie and unforgettable story. This series is brought to you by the great people at Chêne Gear.

In this episode of The Dept. Omar sits down with Macy McNeely for a powerful conversation on why so many entrepreneurs struggle with sales and what actually makes people buy. Macy breaks down why most business owners are too focused on explaining what they do instead of communicating what people get out of what they do. She explains why people need to feel something before they can understand something, why over-explaining can flatten emotion, and why the best salespeople know how to direct energy instead of dominate it. You'll learn how to make people care about what you sell, how to communicate value without sounding desperate, how to use stories to shift beliefs, and why persuasion is not just something you do it is a place you operate from. If you want to stop over-explaining, sell with more certainty, and help people feel the value of what you offer, this episode is a must-watch.
Runners have more data, technology, nutrition products, and training advice than ever, so why does Dr. Phil Maffetonebelieve many of us are actually getting slower and less healthy? In this wide-ranging conversation, Phil challenges the resurgence of high-carbohydrate fueling, explains why building a strong aerobic system still matters, and shares how he used heart-rate training decades before it became mainstream. He breaks down the Maffetone Method, why runners should measure training by time rather than miles, and how slowing down today can ultimately help you run faster tomorrow. The conversation also explores the difference between collecting data and actually using it intelligently, along with Phil's belief that diet and metabolic health can quietly undermine even the best training plan. And in classic Phil fashion, the discussion eventually wanders into music, creativity, awareness, and why becoming a better runner may require developing more of yourself than just your legs. Timestamps 02:12 | What Runners Are Still Getting Wrong Phil argues that despite decades of new research and technology, runners continue to repeat many of the same mistakes around training and nutrition. 03:18 | The Return of High-Carb Fueling The conversation tackles the trend toward extremely high carbohydrate intake during endurance events and Phil's strong disagreement with the direction it's taking. 09:08 | The Heart-Rate Experiment That Changed Everything Phil tells the story of putting an early heart-rate monitor on Mark Allen and asking one of the world's best triathletes to dramatically slow down in order to eventually get faster. 14:44 | Are We Using All This Data Wrong? With runners surrounded by watches and metrics, Phil explains why collecting numbers is very different from using them intelligently. 18:32 | How the Maffetone Method Actually Works Phil explains aerobic heart-rate training, why runners shouldn't necessarily train together at the same pace, and why he prefers measuring training by time instead of mileage. 27:28 | Are Today's Runners Actually Healthier? Despite record-breaking performances at the elite level, Phil argues that the broader running population is getting slower and points to metabolic health and excess body fat as major concerns. 46:16 | Want to Be a Better Runner? Do More Things The conversation expands beyond training as Phil explains how music, creativity, awareness, and a more varied life can contribute to becoming a better athlete and a more complete human.
