It's just the start of a trip and I don't know what the trip is yet
Day 4 and 5 in quarantine and we’re getting the hang of it. But again, this is really just my list of complaints!
Some inside intel from our new friend in quarantine and some updates from life on the inside.
Things get even worse in Quarantine! It’s really just me complaining about the situation we’re in. Photo is the roof terrace where we have all our meals (buffets and communal food sharing).
Our arrival on Zanzibar Island led to immediate quarantine. Here are my first complaints!
Mental entry experience into Tanzania (feat) Man with a Pink Umbrella.
Very miserable pod I’m afraid - just my thoughts on corona and the changes to our plans at the moment.
Finally getting our safari fix! Beautiful around QE National Park in Uganda.
From Kampala we took a little weekend break to an island on Lake Victoria. More of just me rambling really. This is from mid February.
A short one on my latest misunderstanding and mistaken identity in the Mabira Forest!

BYE Kenya, HELLO Uganda. My last days cycling to the border all on my own like a big girl.
A truly exotic experience on the island of Mfangano.... Sorry about some of some of the sound faux pas!
An end to the journey with Kevin for now - I’m off on my own to the Island of Mfangano - crossing the equator on the way!
Some notes on Kenya thus far and some details on the plan going forward! Photo featuring Peggy the cow.
I’ve given a bit more of an explanation on the podcast and more details of the trip. This episode covers the last days in Ethiopia before we crossed into Kenya. This is the link to donate to Creative Saint Helena if you want to www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/forthesaints
A conclusion to my thoughts on Ethiopia and our experiences here. Amesegnalehu!
We celebrated New Year in the only country that doesn’t celebrate New Year, and this is how it went...
The treacherous journey to and from Lalibela took it out of us a little, but here’s a recap of the Xmas period. Ho, ho, ho.
A very eventful 24 hours in our transit from Axum to Mekele.
Apologies for the breathlessness in this one. I’m attempting to drink Ethiopia dry of coffee.
Just a pod to cover the last few days. It’s been eventful since Ethiopia but very rewarding already!
Finally crossed to Ethiopia. Had to cut off the first two minute because the sound was so bad. Meant to carry on but beer is legal in Ethiopia so...
New one bitches! The photo is a massive grasshopper that landed on my shoulder and sat there while I ate lunch. When he kicked off vertically again it genuinely bruised me!
Defintely lost track of the dates and corresponding days somewhere... I’ll just carry on with my eyes closed.
The sound is horrendous in this one, so apologies! The link to my just giving page is here: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/sainthelena?utm_term=JRM8V8dW2 and the photo is of the 2 giraffes
Another observation on Sudan and a mini revelation for myself too.
Short note on a town we passed through on our ride through the Sahara.
Back with the podcasts with a short update from the desert. Just getting back into the swing of things. Photo is the last road sign we saw. (Sorry about the sound)
Apologies for the podtalk (or lack of) today. It was a tough day and I’d prefer not to give it more airtime. The photo is a picture on the wall in our hotel room (please note the text).
After a bit of a rest, we’re almost ready to go again. Here’s an update on Luxor and the journey ahead. Photo is the pub we found!
Finally made it to Luxor! This episode contains adult content. Photo is some graffiti squiggles, down an alley, on the West Bank.
Some updates from today. Picture is from the wall of the police office (we were going to camp in). I like to think it’s their “How to Escort a Cyclist” illustration.
Very short one tonight. FYI - Isis also happens to be the name of an Egyptian goddess.
An update on the journey down the Nile and CAPTAIN OF THE WEEK is announced...
Rambling on, hopefully getting better at this. The episode image is a snap from our wardrobe in the Christian school.
This is my first attempt at a podcast, from Beni Suef, Egypt.
