After starting with Everton's most-successful skipper Kevin Ratcliffe at the Cheshire Cat pub in Christleton in March 2024, the 20th and final episode of the Goodison Park: My Home series sees Chris Beesley at ‘The Grand Old Lady' herself, to speak to current club captain Seamus Coleman. Arguably the best pound for pound signing of the Premier League era with his fabled “Sixty Grand” fee that features in a popular supporters' song, the Republic of Ireland international holds the Blues record for the most matches in the competition and is widely regarded as being their best player in his position of modern times. Lauded by then Everton manager Frank Lampard as “the best man I've ever met,” after the 3-2 comeback win over Crystal Palace in 2022 to secure top flight survival, the right-back from Killybegs, County Donegal, has epitomised the ‘Spirit of the Blues' both on and off the pitch for over 16 years since joining from Sligo Rovers in January 2009 and unlike many of his team-mates, he chooses to live in Liverpool itself. Speaking in his usual, candid manner, Coleman talks passionately to the ECHO about his love for Goodison Park, Everton Football Club and its fanbase. She believes that by working out their mental health problems early, whether they be depression, anxiety or weight issues, they will be able to experience their teenage years positively instead of fighting them and ultimately having to change things later in life. Clearing their heads of negative thoughts when they are young, will encourage them to reach for the stars and achieve the absolute best version of themselves and not wonder later “If only I was happy when I was young and had the confidence to do X, Y and Z.” Rosie has vast experience working with clients both in Canada and Ireland with PTSD, Post Natal Depression, Anxiety, Sexual abuse victims, Smokers, Weight Loss, Tinnitus, Insomnia and many more. Rosie specialises in Weight Loss, Anxiety and Depression. She is the owner of Irish Hypnosis Cabinteely and the Weight Loss Clinic. She has a strong passion for helping people. She is also a professional singer with experience of performing as a soloist with large Orchestras in Canada and in front of large numbers of people and she can help you get the confidence you need to perform on your instrument as she understands how the fear of negative judgment from others can hold people back from performing to their best ability. She can help you reprogramme your subconscious mind to not be worrying about what other people think as you perform and therefore allowing yourself to be the best musician and performer you can be. Special thanks to our newest and returning patrons: Laura Belle, Michelle Powers, James Regan 12:43 - THE STORY OF MYRA'S LAMENT FOR LAMLASH BAY I plagiarise songs into local events..the one I sang last night I wrote at 3 AM in the morning. My wife had been in hospital 100 miles away, for two months, and the chorus came to my head when I was feeling sorry for myself. Simultaneously, the Government had decided to ban us clamming in Lamlash Bay. I'd sustainably hand picked scallops there for 34 years. The trawler/dredgers were destroying the habitat, and they wanted to ban them. But they done us in as well… a Federal hammer to crack a wee nut!!!! So, the song is called “Myra's lament for Lamlash Bay”…Lamlash is at the Isle of Arran. Tommy Makem inspired my plagiarism with “The Boys from Killybegs.” Killybegs is a fishing port in Donegal, Ireland..Dun Na Gael…. The Fortress of the Stranger. Tommy famously sang and played banjo with the Glancy Brothers.. Sgheirs:- Gaelic..reefs pronounced “skerries. clams”:- generic term in Scotland for bivalve shellfish..we fish for scallops..Pecten maximus Sound:- navigable stretch of water between two pieces of land in this case formed by the Tarbert shore and Isle of Arran. Thole :- Lalands Scots (old Scots) my work they won't accept or tolerate. Dole:- Un-employment register Listen to the original version of the song on the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast #85. Myra's Lament for Lamlash Bay lyrics Liam Griffin, music Marc Gunn There are scallops in the sea, put there for you and me By the Lord who reigns from heaven above. And the divers catch and sell, but we won't go to hell, We treat the sea with joy, respect and love. * There's a wild and rolling sea bringing me back home to ye. To yer bed that's dry and crisp and woman warm And our lovin' knows no harm when I hold ye in my arms. When the Boys from Lerags Glen come rollin' home. There are rocks upon the shore, There are sgheirs even more* And the trawlers they are dredging to and fro' But the diver's in the gully, for the seabed we don't sully Hand pickin' is the way I chose to go. But today the sea is calm and the boat is full of clams** And swiftly we have cleared KilBrannon Sound..*** Sacks of scallops stacked up high All our divers safe and dry And soon for Lerags Glen we're homeward bound. But now a new day's dawned and time is moving on and conservation is a game that they al play and my work the cannot thole and I'm told to sign the dole No more from Lerags Glen go to the sea. 23:37 - Marc Gunn “Myra's Lament for Lamlash Bay” from Come Adventure With Me 27:22 - CREDITS Thanks for listening to Pub Songs & Stories. One third of Wyvern Lingo, Caoi De Barra released her debut solo EP Thicket at the end of summer 2022 after the Choice-nominated band announced they were going on hiatus earlier in the year. Fresh off a European and UK tour playing drums with the Grammy-nominated Allison Russell, Caoimhe talks about her new single Treehouse and her second scooter tour of Ireland. Treehouse is about the housing crisis, which De Barra says leaves her feeling trapped in a perpetual state of adolescence, where the concept of being a self-sufficient artist seems as lofty as building a dwelling up a tree - “It's really letting my petulant inner child do the problem solving”, she says. Speaking about the scooter tour, De Barra says “Exploring the backroads, towns and villages of Ireland on my 125 cc scooter feels extremely peaceful and enriching to me. Less practical than a car, but low on fuel usage, and almost as romantic as travelling on horseback. On top of that I have the privilege of performing my songs for people in the places I go to, immediately immersed in the local arts scene. The scooter tour for me is the perfect solo quest.” Tour dates: FRANKS PLACE, WEXFORD, July 13 IMMA GARDEN PARTY, DUBLIN, July 15 LIVE AT 1868, DUNGARVAN, July 16 WOODFIELD CAFE, BIRR, July 20 POPPY LANE SESSIONS, KINVARA, July 21 POT DUGGANS, ENNISTYMON, July 22 COUGHLANS, CORK, July 23 PRIMS BOOKSHOP, KINSALE, July 26 DE BARRA'S, CLONAKILTY, July 27 ST MICHAEL'S CHURCH, WATERVILLE, July 30 DOLAN'S, LIMERICK, Aug 2 THE GREEN ROOM, DINGLE, Aug 3 ARUNDELS BY THE PIER, AHAKISTA, Aug 9 MONROES, GALWAY, Aug 11 THE MUSIC LOOM, KILLYBEGS, Aug 12 THE HARBOUR BAR, BRAY, Aug 17 THE FUMBALLY, DUBLIN, Aug 18 Tour dates + ticket links: https://campsite.bio/caoidebarra Buy Caoi De Barra - Treehouse at her Bandcamp page: https://caoidebarra.bandcamp.com/

The campaign blends new luxury experiences with places and people at its heart, doubling down on a message of inclusivity. The campaign's television spot opens by posing the question, “How many precious moments have we missed?”, before taking the viewer on a journey filled with experiences and wonders one might not immediately associate with a cruise.Set to a remix of Louis Armstrong's iconic life-affirming ballad “What a Wonderful World,” the spot draws on the lyrics, enticing the viewer at every moment to return to experiencing the fullness of life. The spot also reminds viewers that there are new safety considerations in today's travel environment that Celebrity Cruises takes seriously. Like many other travel brands, Celebrity Cruises paused its operations in March 2020 as the coronavirus pandemic took hold. After nearly 16 months, it became the first cruise operator to sail with passengers from both North America, and then, the first to sail from a U.S. port when Celebrity Edge left Fort Lauderdale on June 26 for a seven-night cruise of the Caribbean.https://youtu.be/uQet84z_quECarnival Corporation to Provide Convenient Access to Pre-Board Testing (USA only) The world's largest cruise company, today announced a new initiative making pre-board testing more convenient and accessible for its guests. We're thrilled you bought the record and went on to play it on your show" Maddy Churchhouse emailed some photos: "Hi Marc, Love the podcast. You mentioned you like pictures so I thought I would send some! I listened to your Samhain episode and a few others from the backlog whilst wild camping the James Heriot Way (a 52 mile circular walk through Wensleydale & Swaledale) in the Yorkshire Dales for three days over the Halloween weekend. With the whirling leaves and autumn fellsides the podcast set the perfect magical atmosphere. The inspiring music was exactly what I needed to pick me up when my energy started to lag hiking down from the head of Swaledale as the sun set, and your cheerful commentary really kept my spirits high while I was night hiking under the full moon on Halloween night and looking for an appropriate place to pitch up! Thank you for spreading such awesome music." Sophia MacKay emailed: "Hello Mark! I first found the podcast through my mother, and have been listening for about 6 years now. It’s the soundtrack to my 40 minute walk to and from work, and what usually I listen to while I knit. What prompted me to finally reach out is the latest episode of the podcast. I wanted to make sure you knew Heather Alexander is now Alexander James Adams. He transitioned, and is therefore no longer a “Celtic woman”. I don’t know myself how to handle dead names when it comes to musicians with work still under their old name, but I’m sure you will do so with grace, considering your commitment to equality and diversity with your podcast." I did know that of course. I was a big fan of Heather Alexander’s work, which is why I reached out to Alex. After getting that emailed, I realized I should've asked Alex before adding Heather to the Celtic Woman show. So I did. Alexander James Adams responded: "Thanks for playing the music. No apologies needed. Heather was proud of her femininity. She worked hard at it.?? I tend to refer to her as a separate person, though I show her off vocally when it is needed. (It’s taken years to get a good falsetto??) I like to think that I just have her running around in the background, making commentary like they do for movies on the bonus DVD. It’s a red head thing! I’m fairly open with the fact that I transitioned and leave it up to each individual as to how or what they say. You can go with the “faerie tale” if you like; Heather being a changeling returned home and me being a Stolen Child released, or you can be straight with your audience. I trust your judgement. I’m honoured and happy for you to play the music of the Heatherlands. As the Heir, I keep the magic alive by holding all that has been done equal to all that will be. Honesty is always fulfilling for me. Again, thank you for supporting my music, especially this year. I’m glad you’re getting through this still standing and wish you great advancement in the new year! Happy Holidays!"

It was one of Donegal's best kept secrets. But after a picture of a waterfall located between Largy and Killybegs appeared on social media, visitors have been flocking to see it. But for local farmers, landowners and residents, this is causing problems with more traffic on the road from Killybegs to Kilcar going toward Sliabh Liag. Independent Councillor Niamh Kennedy has been telling us about the waterfall at Largy, and how its new-found popularity is affecting the local area.
The club championship draws have been made. Paddy McGill and five-time Dr Maguire Cup winner with Killybegs, Manus Boyle, go through the senior and intermediate football draws. Thanks Marc Gunn!" Patrick wrote: "Hi Marc Gunn. My name is Patrick and I really love your podcast although you play too many instrumentals for my taste. Still it's a great podcast and I love it. I also like you music from you personally. My favorite I think is Lord of the Pounce. By the way, look for the band The Irish Rovers. They have some really good songs, especially on their Irish Gems collection album. Keep on playing the Celtic music and thanks for the podcast!"
