As the Gypsies gaze upon the ancient mural deep in the catacombs of the Church of the High Hunt, it dawns on them that they may be tied up with dark and powerful forces beyond their will. At least to the less sceptical among them, the fates seem to have clasped sinister knuckles about their future. What secrets does this room hold? The prophecy speaks of six coming from the south, upon a breeze, headed by a wolf. Could this refer to our brave heroes? The axe that belonged to Father Orius is the key, but what would they be opening? Some locks serve a purpose that curiosity should not meddle in. One thing is certain; the key to such a lock must not be left in untrustworthy hands. From what Brother Draug recounts, Chaplain Blackwood, the one seeking the stolen axe after a raid on the Church, is not an ally beyond suspicion. Whether the axe lies in the hands of some Sküldalandish creature from the far north, or in the possession of this shrouded figure, Blackwood, the Gypsies will not rest easy until it is returned to its owner. Hearing that Blackwood set off into the north-east, toward the Forest of Ymir, the Gypsies prepare to pursue her. Can they find her amongst the dark glades and beast-riddled pines of this vast wood? Will the key to the dark chambers wreathed in fate and mystery be returned to safe hands? All is to be unveiled in this most audacious episode of… The Journeyman Questers!

With the trial of Dutch concluded our brave heroes the Gypsies of fortune have left G’Mirri with their sights set towards the icy coast of ‘The Varamark!’ home to both Varion and Richter. A harsh environment with harsher occupants set in boreal forests and tundra planes, as well as fearsome and windswept coastal bluffs and frozen islands. The Gypsies head towards the Church of the High Hunt, refuge to Brother Draug after his resurrection as a Lycanthrope. But HARK the Gypsies see a small abandoned caravan on the road south and upon landing the forests tremble and the hulking figures stir!!!

What is Law, dear listener? Is Law a reflection of our morality? Is it an arbitrary code of societal conduct? Is Law merely the established and indelible whim of the ruling classes and their preferred form of social covenant? Or is Law the only thing standing between civility and savagery? Civility and savagery, eh? Sounds like someone we know, doesn’t it? In this instalment of the Journeyman Questers we see the fire and fury of Dutch, half Orc pugilist of the Gypsies of Fortune, clapped in irons and brought before the dock so that the city of G’Miri might pass judgement on his deeds and actions. A worker lay dead, his head dashed against the cobblestones like a ripe pomegranate when introduced to the fist of the force of nature known as Dutch - alley carrouser, pub fight instigator, the gnarled and painted hot-blooded heart of the Gypsies of Fortune. Whispers move across the flagstones, past poorhouse brazier and merchant guild treasury. Dutch, who fought so valiantly to defend the city during the Bloodmoon siege, guilty of pummeling an innocent onlooker so hard that his body lay shattered and broken? Was it an accident, as some are perhaps too quick to say? Could a being so sure of his fists misplace them so tragically? Or, as some of the less tolerant murmur, could it simply be a case of Dutch’s Orcish ‘nature’ rising to the surface, a savage cream clawing its way past the milk of kindness and patience that he has fought so hard to cultivate? Or, as some smallfolk mutter and merchant tycoons nod unconcernedly, has Dutch’s status as City Saviour and close comrade of Mayor Rufus merely gone to his head and made him unconcerned for the ruin and devastation left in the wake of the maelstrom he unleashes every time he smirks and cracks his knuckles? Dutch’s allies seek to restore his freedom even as they seek to restore their own powers, and witnesses hold bated breath as all eyes turn on them. They say one should not build statues to the living, as they still have time to disgrace the stone. What does it mean when a hero falls, commits an error or act unbefitting of the legend we have mantled them with like a rich cloak of ermine? A man of redemption seeks to redeem Dutch’s reputation, while Mayor Rufus grapples with the torn loyalties between his citizen’s desire for justice and his own wish to see his friend safe. The lupine stalker awaits his brother’s verdict with trepidation, and a rather enigmatic figure will yet leave the worried Gypsies with a rather peculiar valentine. But hark! The bailiffs call for order as the gavel finds the wood, much the way a headsman’s axe finds the neck. Something is closing in around Dutch - is it the love of his friends? The aura of fate? Or the noose?

Therein our intrepid Gypsies will encounter foes and threats old and new, with many a surprise in store.None can say what land the sun shall rise upon in the wake of this most martial of dialectics between nature and industry. Dusk falls over the Aercine canopy, tendrils of shadow creeping across the forest floor and mingling with the corrupting thorns which writhe their way incessantly across this once-sacred wood. But whereas ordinarily the forest night would teem and trill with the sombre hooting of owls, the croaking of toads, the yowl of a fox or any other number of myriad chirps and tuts emanating from the lives which forage their bounty under the night sky, this eve is different. A stillness hangs across the moss and branch, and even the brook seems reserved in it’s wet patter.For a pale moon looms over the sky-mounting apex of High Canopy, and all forms of woodland life have sent their representatives to this parliament of foliage to find consensus in the Moon Meet. Grave faces with sombre expressions must now determine this most pressing business; what is to be done about the Dwarves of Cinderhelm?There are soft hearts which call for peace and calloused ones which yearn for blood. The Arch Druids are collected, and now the fundamental elements of this world must debate via animated rhetoric the case for the Dwarves’ expulsion, appeasement or slaughter.The decision of this Moon Meet will determine the fate of the entire forest, perhaps the world beyond, and perchance even worlds beyond this. For all things which sup from the bounty of this land are connected, each element in a graceful and endless dance, eternally rising and falling in tandem. And the effects of a blow struck in this world may echo out unto the vast blackened void above, before cascading down unto all possible realities beyond the horizon.And many eyes are watching...

Our quest currently follows a group called the Gypsies of Fortune, a varied party of dispossessed travellers trying to build a new home together in the town of G'Mirri, and venturing far and wide to find retribution, treasure, glory and the loved and lost. We want to bring the fun, laughter, terror and wonder that we experience around our table to your ears, to celebrate the nerdy paradise of D&D and to revel in an adventure of such calibre that it might just tickle you where you want to be tickled!
