From the mist of Lake Titicaca, eight children of Inti and Mama Quilla stepped onto the high plains, their feet brushing the grass and waking the land itself. Perhaps most famous as the home of the druids, Ynys Môn, also known as Anglesey, occupies 275 square miles just off the north Wales coast. It is an ancient place. Archaeologists found Neolithic settlements at Llanfaethlu, making these some of the oldest villages in Wales. The Neolithic Castell Bryn Gwyn site remained in use until the Roman period. Bryn Celli Ddu is one of the most famous Bronze Age burial mounds. This passage tomb is around 5000 years old, and aligns with the sunrise on the summer solstice. Its name means 'the Mound in the Dark Grove', and it was first excavated in 1865. With so much history everywhere you turn, finding folklore and legend is to be expected. What does the Bible say about Halloween? Is the holiday just harmless fun? Why do Christians celebrate it?According to the National Retail Federation, seven in ten Americans (who live in a country that still marginally believes in the Bible) now celebrate Halloween. Total spending on the holiday is in the billions of dollars. Foods that are often associated with it include Bonfire toffee (Great Britain), candy and toffee apples (Great Britain, Ireland), caramel apples and candy corn, candy shaped like skulls, bats, and so on, as well as pumpkins (a Halloween tradition).Everyone knows the celebration of Halloween, All Hallowed's Ev'n, involves witches, warlocks, jack-o-lanterns, and an odd little phrase, “trick or treat.” They feel it's innocent, and all about pretending as they teach their little ones to dress up and join in the fun.  Is our Creator fond of us doing this, or are we practicing something originating in darkness that is absolutely evil in His eyes?  The word “Halloween” is a hybridization of the phrase “All Hallow's Eve,” or All Hallowed's Ev'n.  The Catholic Circus had made November 1st "All Saints' Day" in order to re-invent the pagans' festival of death. The night before became known as All Halloweds' Evening." “Hallowed” means “Holy,” and is a word derived from “halo,” a nimbus, hoop, or glowing emanation around the head of a deity such as Krishna (India).  Buddha is often depicted with a hoop or glowing orb around his head, as is “Jupiter” of the Romans, and Ceruiden of the Druids.  This practice of relating a round glow to the heads of deities or “enlightened ones” was adopted by Catholicism from the Romans, stemming from even more ancient Pagans.  The statue of Jupiter has a halo, and was re-named Peter.  The Catholics adopted the halo from Paganism to indicate that a person was a saint, so their images of dead “saints” could be properly venerated.  The idea of being “haloed” meant the person was “holy,” and this idea is conveyed in the term “hallowed”, pertaining to veneration / worship, or "sacred."  Whatever Yahweh declares set-apart (qodesh) is set-apart; what man declares set-apart, unsupported by the Words of Yahweh, is an abomination to Him. Autumnal Equinox - 13 weeksa. Divinatory practices were an important part of traditional Halloween ritual. The veil between worlds was thinned by both the season transition and the close proximity of our ancestors to the spirits of nature. Surviving winter was a superstitious and hopeful affair and divination eased the transition, just as it provided comfort for the living and dead. One was either to be prosperous or die. Most divination was focused on marriage, from apples and cabbage to kale and nuts. The forbidding of divination in various religious texts, and the emphasis placed on the one true God, is a matter of perspective considering the Druids, with Christian symbols, held this God to be found in nature and sky. Divination today is often done behind a thicker veil and for less serious reasons. In 2025 it is even easier to turn to Grok or ChatGPT, perhaps one of a number of religious applications, to fulfill the spiritual need, consult oracles, and commune with the other side. However, this is leading rapidly to false prophets, psychosis, and paranoid delusion. Interestingly, up to half of all chatbots and AI driven systems are released in the fall months, and up to a third of all cases of violence or psychosis resulting from chatbot use occurs in the same timeframe. A recent ritual EDM show at the pyramids in Egypt takes the discussion to another dimension. On a stage set by two massive pillars and wire, a laser light show produced an enormous robot that broke through the portal glass on October 10. The show was called Quantum DJ and The End of Genesys, the latter indicating perhaps the end of organic evolution and the start of synthetic change. Whereas the Druids danced east to west in alignment with the sun, and the whirling dervishes in circles to align with the planets, an EDM show themed by the end of God's creation and drug field orgy of mindless erratic dancing is sure to invoke the absolute worst from the other side. I was born in Aberdeen, Scotland but spent most of my childhood and all my teenage years in Kent and Surrey, England. At 19 I moved to London to study at university and this was the beginning of my development into a semi-professional or professional artist, designer, musician, photographer and writer. In 1990, at university, I discovered the Apple MacIntosh computer which I immediately fell in love with, leading to my interest in digital art and Graphic Design (which became my career), following a stint in Mitre House Publishing for my degree industrial placement and writing for the university magazine Cityscape. I began writing poetry at the age of 15, pretty badly I might add. Over time I developed my own style of both poetry and prose. My first article was published in 1991 but a year after leaving university I left journalism aside for other activities (mainly music) until the early 2000s when I began to write more frequently. For most of the 1990s I concentrated on my band Children Of Dub and released several albums and singles during that time. A multitude of my articles in magazines and websites have been appearing in recent years, which you can find on my articles page. In 2005 my first book, on spiritual wisdom, "The Journey" was published under the pseudonym Joseph Dawton. In 2006 I was editor of a collection of poetry entitled "Where The Hazel Falls", featuring some of my poems, as well as eight other authors in Ireland. My first book to be published without the use of a pseudonym was "The Druid's Primer" in 2012, which is a non-fiction book on Druidry. A revised and expanded edition of "The Journey", was published in UK and USA by Moon Books, in late 2012. My first solo collection of poetry "Through The Cracks In The Concrete The Wilderness Grows" was published in 2016 through Killkenny Druidry College Press and "Kerry Folk Tales" (with Gary Branigan) was published in summer 2019 through The History Press. "How To Save The Planet" was published by Electric Publications in November 2019. "5th Element" by Children Of Dub was released on CD in March 2020, followed by a 2xCD best-of compilation "Evolution 1993-2020".

The Celtic peoples, including their priestly class of Druids, predate Christianity by over a thousand years. Some say by 3,000 with conservative estimates at about 1,200 years. It is from these people we acquire large numbers of our modern Halloween traditions.
