Messages from the weekly youth meetings of Christ the King Lutheran Church.
We focus so much on dating and relationships in today’s world and yet it is such an area of struggle and heartache for so many. Perhaps we need a new model for relationships- dating from your value rather than for your value. Come learn how being “worth dying for” changes your current/future relationships and your whole life!
As much as we may want to always be authentic in today’s world, we wear masks all the time. We act differently around some people than we do others. Is Christianity just another mask we wear, or is it an opportunity to get rid of all the masks and find our identity in something that is consistent and lasts?
Can God really use me? That’s one of the big questions for Christians to wrestle with, especially young people. But God’s answer to that question is both simple and profound: how God uses the small works of sinners like you and me to make an eternal difference.
United. A word we say all the time, but rarely do we actually we true unity. What unites us as a church? The words of God: you are worth more and you are made for more.
What are you worth? What is your stuff worth? What are the people around you worth? This is what we looked at last week from Ephesians 3 at our congregational Prayer & Praise night.
Worth More, Made For More
Who are you? Where are you going? Who are you bringing with you? The answers to these questions dramatically impact the outcome and purpose of your life. Join us as we find the answers to these questions in Christ. Message given Oct 4, 2017.
Can't we all agree on anything? That seems to be one of the predominant thoughts as we look through social media or the news these days. Find out how in Christ, we are given a unity that can't be found anywhere else. Message given Sept 20, 2017.
Have you ever felt unwelcome in a church? Unwelcomed by God? That's the state that unfortunately so many people find themselves in. Thankfully, God has something to say to us: you are welcome home! Message given Sept 15, 2017.
What does it look like to run the race of faith? How does Ephesians 2:8-10 fit into this race? What role does grace place in our walk? Message given Sept 13, 2017.
What does it look like for God to do "more" in our lives? How does He change us? Message given Sept 6, 2017.
We're constantly looking for more in this world. What "more" does God offer than anything else in this world? In one word- redemption. Message given Aug 30, 2017.
What are your expectations for your life? Are your plans so set in stone that you aren't open to God using you in a different way? How can you be open to God changing your expectations? Message given March 8, 2017.
"In my heart and my soul, Lord, I give you control. Consume me from the inside out, Lord" - "From the Inside Out" by Hillsong United. What does it look like to give up control? Message given Mar 1, 2017.
Most of us live our lives so filled to the brim, that we can't possibly add one more thing. So when the church asks to give up/add something for Lent, we don't understand why we would do that. But the issue here is trust. Do I trust God enough to get out of my comfort zone? Message given Feb 22, 2017.
"It's my life, I can do what I want with it." This is the hallmark phrase of teenage rebellion, yet is it really something that makes sense? Are we the owners of anything, and is there a better way? Message given Feb 15, 2017.
What is God's design and purpose for relationships? Hint: it has more to do with just "falling in love" and sailing through the rest of life. Message given Feb 8, 2017.
What does it look like to be a man? Where do we learn that? What does God have to say about it, and is that a better model than what we see in our world today? Message given Feb 1, 2017.
You are worth dying for. That is how valuable you are. Don't let anyone try and define your value outside of that. You're worth it! Message given Jan 25, 2017.
DTR stands for "define the relationship". But this doesn't only reference the "DTR talk" that so many of us are so bad at having, but also the crucial question of "what defines your relationships?" Is it what you see in the world around you, or are you looking at God's standards? Message given Jan 18, 2017.
Our society puts so much emphasis on finding "the one". But does that system really work out well for us? Perhaps instead of looking for the one, we need to recognize that He has already found us. Message given Jan 11, 2017.
A New Year gives us a great opportunity to not only reflect, but to reset. Go back to the basics, focus on what really matters, and rebuild on a firm foundation. That's why for this series, we're starting in the one place that matters. Our first resolution: Above all else, seek (run after) God. Message given Jan 4, 2017.
Jesus, the Bread of Life, was born in Bethlehem the "house of bread." Yet most of the time, we go to Bethlehem looking for something temporary, instead of the eternal Jesus that we find. Take a look with us at some classic Christmas hymns to help us find the Bread of Life, eternal Savior this Christmas. Message given Dec 14.
