This weeks mixtape was brought to us by our very own Ali Gentry Creech! From the start Ali asks us "When was the last time you've been in AWE?" When was the last time you took time to sit and marvel at the beauty and wonder of creation? When was the last time you meditated on the grandeur of God? And maybe more importantly, when was the last time you sat with the scriptures and sat with the wonder of who God is? Starting in Psalm 19 Ali walks us through how we can find wonder not only in the people and the nature around us, but how we can find wonder in the scriptures and in the character of God! When we encounter God with a sense of awe and wonder we can't help but take a posture of humility. It is this posture that allows us to step into a life of holiness, sanctification, and wholeness. At the end of the message Ali calls us to sit and listen to So Will I (100 Billion X) by Hillsong United and meditate on the words of the song. So make sure to tune in for an inspiring message and a time of reflecting on the wonder of God! Here is the video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2U7ffUM5Ec

“So Will I (100 Billion X)” is a popular worship song written by Hillsong United that has received a lot of recognition over the years from people who love the song and also people who choose not to sing it for different reasons based on the lyrics. Mackenzie breaks down the lyrics of this song, comparing the lines with Scripture and addressing some concerns people have pointed out with its lyrics.   Hi, I'm Mackenzie. I'm a music artist, worship leader, wife, mom (I wear a lot of hats), and host of the Godly Whistleblower podcast. I seek to shine a light on popular teachings and music in the church today and share what Scripture teaches on how we are to worship in spirit and in truth within the church gathering. My desire is to learn together with my listeners how Christians are to live lives ultimately as a pleasing worship to God. Stephan liebt Hillsong!

The End of It All Alisha EichEveryone goes through struggles and tough times in life. Everyone questions the “Why did this happen to me” feelings. Everyone knows they have a God given calling – but sometimes, “life just gets in the way.” Amen! That is what happened with our guest today.Alisha Eich developed a serious interest in singing, playing the piano, and writing music around the age of 11. Influenced by worship leaders such as Darlene Zschech, Delirious, Brooke Fraser, and Hillsong United during her teenage years, Alisha learned how to write music that is creative, authentic, and spiritual.Raised in a ministry-minded home, she was greatly influenced by her parents, with the emphasis in her home on using one's talents to serve God. This is a principle that continues to guide her today. She released some music a few years ago and then “Life” got in the way a bit. She got married, had four children… but the calling on her life persisted.Alisha Eich's newest solo single, “The End of It All,” (released on June 14th), speaks about the sovereignty and purposes of God amidst the chaos and struggles of life. The song weaves a narrative from creation in Genesis to our redemption in the New Testament, acknowledging God's eternal redeeming plan. Addressing daily struggles and emphasizing the importance of clinging to Jesus, Alisha reminds listeners that no matter what challenges arise, Jesus Christ remains a steadfast creator and friend. Amen.Help me welcome to the program, Alisha Eich! Alisha, thank you for taking the time to join us today. I do appreciate it!The first question I always start with is this… other than that brief information I just shared, can you tell us in your own words, “Who is Alisha Eich?”You grew up in a Christian home. I believe I read where your parents were in the ministry as well. Is that correct? How did your home life bear out in the music you created and performed growing up?You collaborated with your song, “The End of It All,” with Lloyd Nicks. How did you get connected with him to collaborate on this song? Have you worked with him before? You've been nominated for GMA (Gospel Music Association) Awards before. Is this one going to win you another nomination?I know being a wife and full time mother is time consuming… Are you about ready to go on the road with your latest release? What's the plans you have in regards to that?Alisha, this is all so interesting. And your latest song, “The End of It All” is absolutely amazing. How can someone obtain a copy of your song? Is it available on iTunes or something like that?If someone wanted to reach out to you, maybe to invite you to their church or an event, etc. Or just to ask a question or maybe to do an interview like this… how can they do that? How can someone get in touch with you?I'll put links to all of this in the show notes below.Folks, there is absolutely no way to replace what is in your heart. If you have Jesus in your heart, the music will reflect that. Amen. I find myself singing Gospel songs while cutting grass or just walking through the store. Now, I'm just singing them in my head…if I started singing them out loud, Brother Bob would probably be banned from going shopping… amen. I can't carry a tune to save my life… but…Alisha Aich sure can. Amen! You need to click the links down below and grab your own copy of her music – and especially her latest release, “The End of It All.” Amen! This music will set your soul free, Praise God!Drop down into the show notes, reach out to Alisha and be sure to grab your own copy of her music… especially her latest release, “The End of It All.” AmenCONTACT INFORMATION:Email: visionpr7@gmail.comWebsite: https://www.alishaeich.com/“The End of It All” -...

All of us have insatiable desires that can only be satisfied in communion with our heavenly Father. The desire to be delighted in, for wonder, to behold glory, and to be someone great are driving forces within each of us. The desire to be fully know and fully loved, to be passionate, and to live a life of significance resound within each of us at the foundation of who we are. God created these desires knowing that they can only be fully satisfied in him—that they would be avenues to deeper relationship with him. As we look at each of these desires individually, I pray your heart would find its fulfillment in the loving nearness of your heavenly Father. May is here! Friend and fellow Desert Springs podcaster Mark Syhlowy joined our host Sarah Schalow in the studio to share his story. Mark cohosts The Now Life podcast with Shawn Jones and we're so glad that we got the opportunity to get to know him on a deeper level today. Mark begins his story by describing his childhood growing up in Buffalo, NY (Go Bills!). He explains that some of his earliest memories involve him struggling to feel loved and accepted. As early as 14 years old, the feeling and pressure of wanting to belong led him to become involved with drinking and things of that nature. Mark continued on in that lifestyle until finally in his early 20s some people around him started placing their trust in Jesus and he soon came to know the Lord as well. Though Mark experienced salvation it was a process to let go of certain things in his life, but it was from that moment that he felt the redemption of Christ beginning to work. Mark continued to do his best to follow the Lord, seeking Christian community and surrounding himself with people that could help him grow. He moved to Arizona in the early 2000s and started attending Desert Springs shortly after. We don't want to give it all away here, but we really appreciate Mark's vulnerability. You're going to hear his heart on multiple struggles and the way he feels the Lord is continuing to redeem him through them. He also shares that his children are the some of the greatest examples of how he has seen Christ's love. You will certainly see the thread of redemption in Mark's story and will be encouraged to remember the worth that we have in Christ; there is nothing or no one that is too far gone. The Now Life podcast: https://www.dscchurch.com/the-now-lifeShawn Jones' Stories Collective episode: https://open.spotify.com/episode/4OuNAKEDp73agvxkFVXevV?si=816c1aa44aa1490ePhoenix Rescue Mission: https://phoenixrescuemission.orgHighlands by Hillsong UNITED: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mkbxP0rxt6EWould you please subscribe and leave us a review? Through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus we have been afforded an opportunity to live an incredibly abundant life here on earth. Our God is nearer, more tangible, and has a greater ability to make his presence known than we've yet realized. He longs to make his children more in tune and aware of the depths of his love, guidance, empowerment, and nearness. He longs for our days here on earth to be marked by unveiled communion with him. As we look at what it is to live an abundant life here on earth, I pray that your heart will be awakened to the reality of God's presence and affection in your life. Our Scripture for today comes from Matthew 6:34, and today's worship is Here Now by Hillsong United. --   If you've wrestled with making Bible study a consistent habit of spiritual formation, A Light Unto My Path will inspire and encourage you to drink more deeply from the unending well that is the Bible.  A Light Unto My Path will answer these 7 critical questions:  Why do we read the Bible? How was the Bible created? Why do we need to interpret the Bible? What is the Bible about? What are the best tools for studying the Bible? What can I learn from others? How can I learn for myself?   I love that the goal of this book is not to learn more about the Bible (even though you will), but to better understand the Bible as one of the primary ways God seeks to have a relationship with us today.  Get your copy today  at supportfirst15.org!
