Meet Beau the 15-year-old genius, my new co-host. I had a fantastic and intellectually invigorating time with my 15-year-old mate Beau Chaseling preparing our first podcast and show on; Consciousness, The Brain Meditation Awakenings Enlightenment Plant medicines (pros and cons), Left and right brains Reductionist materialist models of consciousness vs spiritual models of consciousness Phases of individual and species development Potential underlying evolutionary nature of human consciousness. If you are wondering why I would discuss these things with a 15-year-old and you don't know Beau, he is a 15-year-old genius with multi-discipline intelligence (physics, history, politics etc), guitar slinger and just an all-round down to earth good guy (huge levels of emotional intelligence) with an incredible intellect and like me....an ongoing dedication to meditation as an evolutionary tool (psycho-technology). This has been long in fermentation and we are excited to share the first of an ongoing series of podcasts with anyone interested (first show dropping next week). If you are into this type of thing you should find it thought-provoking and stimulating. Regardless of whether you are an ardent woo-woo spiritual type or a logic-driven reductionist materialist type you will enjoy our attempts at bridge-building between the two sides and our pursuit of evidence. This is the start of something new for me personally. A lot of the things I have investigated deeply for years as a lifelong meditator and experienced as a result, I have not shared with many (the experiences are far from 'normal'). I look forward to this next chapter and look forward to sharing a quality critical and deep thinker in Beau with anyone wanting to listen.
We all make mistakes and upset customers during the course of our business lives. But it's how we deal with the problems that can set us apart. In this show I outline a customer service strategy that will enable you, if you make a mistake and let down a client, to win them over to the point that they will love you more than if you hadn't made the mistake in the first place. It's a pretty simple formula but one that many people don't use because there is too much emotion caught up in the situation. With real life examples you will learn: That you need to deal with issues promptly That just apologising isn't enough - you need to offer things that are worth more than the original product or service That customers want their suffering to be recognised That by offering free items with a high perceived value, you can turn a negative into a real positive and win over clients for life
If you want to build a business that grows without you, you will need to get used to identifying and dealing with roadblocks. A roadblock is an inefficiency or lack of resources that shows up under load at a certain time, usually when a business is starting to do well. In most businesses I work with, the business owner themselves is the main roadblock. Because they control the day to day running of the business, when more clients come on board, they haven't got the systems or team in place to deal with the extra workload. So they end up working all hours, carrying too many roles. In this show I demonstrate that roadblocks are a positive thing. They highlight what needs to change in your business - all you need to do is to fix the roadblock and that will improve operational efficiencies and the ability to scale your business. You will learn: That roadblocks show up under success - you know you're doing the right thing when you see them That moving yourself as the business owner from running to ‘conducting' the business can remove the first roadblock Resources are not just people - they are knowledge, systems and processes as well That taking time out to build robust systems and processes is vital to a growing business That building a team with different strengths and weaknesses will help you overcome the human resources roadblock
If you want to build a business that runs smoothly without you, the key thing you'll need to do is build a successful, high-performing team. But to do this, an understanding of human psychology is crucial. You will need to understand now only how the individuals on your team function but also how you as the business owner behave in relationships and how that impacts your behaviour as a leader. Luckily it's not as complicated as it sounds! We all fall into certain personality types and when you understand these, you will be able to see what strengths and weaknesses both you and your team have - and adapt accordingly. You will learn: How you are in your relationships is also how you are in business That your predominant personality type determines what you like to do and how you interact with others That getting people with the right value structures as you is vital To build a team you must understand others, their personalities, their strengths and weaknesses and their value systems, and you must be able to reach those value systems That by understanding the dysfunctional aspects of your personality style, you can start to override them
Most businesses offer a range of products or services. But the mistake many business owners make is to market their whole range of offerings to customers, thinking that offering more will bring more clients and success. They couldn't be more wrong! In fact what they're doing is positioning themselves as a generalist, not an expert. This will attract the wrong type of client who is only interested in price and not likely to be a long term client who the business owner can have a long and profitable relationship with. In my second show with Steve, a Qigong expert, I discuss how defining a high need, high value avatar or niche with one main problem that needs solving doesn't restrict what you do but helps you position yourself as an expert who can solve that problem. Once you've done that and gained their trust, you can introduce your other services. You will learn: That by centring your marketing around one key message creates clarity that your clients will love - something that most businesses don't offer That your message will need to address a big problem that your target market suffers from That all of your communications should show the benefits of solving this problem That focusing only on one thing in your marketing isn't restrictive, it allows you to position yourself as an expert who people will trust That once clients trust you, they are happy to purchase your other products and services!
Building a profitable business whilst working less requires a few key strategies to be implemented. These strategies will form the heart of your marketing to position you as an expert in your chosen field and bring you the kind of client who will make you more money. The first of these is to build a scalable business model. By this we mean one in which you don't trade time for money (there are only so many hours in a day!) on a one to one basis but where you can share your expertise more widely. The second of these is to identify a high value target market who are in need of what you offer. Figure out what their key problem is and how you can solve it. If you focus ALL of your marketing on offering to solve that problem, you will be perceived as the expert rather than a generalist. What's more, your target market will tune into your marketing messages and come to you for help. In today's show, we discuss these points with Steve, a Qigong expert who is looking to scale up his business. With real life examples, you will learn: That many people have problems because they haven't followed their calling - and if you offer to help them when they reach crisis point, you can make a huge difference That you need to build a scalable business model - one where people aren't wholly reliant on your personal service That you need to identify your high value target market - your ‘A' clients who will make you money, and focus purely on these people That even if you have lots of product offerings, you should focus your marketing messaging on the one that helps solve a particular problem for your target market That if your marketing is too general or contains too many message, people just won't see it
Most business owners would love to grow a successful business that runs smoothly without them. That's a given. But to do that they need to constantly ask themselves certain questions in order to disrupt their unconscious beliefs. Because of the education system, we're not conditioned to question things but it's only by doing this that you can challenge the beliefs that hold you back. By learning to constantly ask questions, you will evolve and change not only as a person but as a business owner. These questions include ‘Who else can I get to do this task? What system can look after this for me so I don't have to do it?' and ‘Can someone do this better than me?' You will learn: The questions you need to ask yourself in order to build yourself out of your business That by questioning yourself, you will start to free yourself from your unconscious beliefs about people That ego is made up of belief systems, and the more rigidly you adhere to your belief systems as though they're truths, the more you will struggle in relationships. That self enquiry and questioning will lead to positive change The five rules you should follow to succeed in your personal as well as business relationships
The strategies to building a successful business are fairly straightforward and any old business coach can help you with these. They involve getting your systems right, getting the right team in place and automating your marketing. But what holds many business owners from implementing these strategies effectively is their psychological blocks. And this is where we differ from other business coaches. We help them understand the four layers of the psyche that will be affecting their decision making WITHOUT them even knowing it. I explain these four layers in today's show and give concrete examples of how they can affect business decisions. You will learn: The psychological blocks that stop business owners from building a business that runs independently of them How NOT to become a roadblock in the growth of your business That logical thinking or knowledge is the first layer That your personality type, the second layer, is vital to understanding where your strengths and weaknesses lie. That the third layer of your emotions can affect how you build your team That your belief systems, the fourth layer, can be incredibly destructive without you even being aware of them
If you're a female entrepreneur struggling with the demands of your family, your partner and managing the staff in your business, my latest podcast is designed JUST for you. Female entrepreneurs often have a harder time than male entrepreneurs because they're naturally inclined to be more nurturing. This means they put other people's needs before their own, leading to burnout and a lack of time for themselves and their passions. This can all be solved with the right recruitment methods to build a high performing team. You will learn: The psychological drivers behind your decisions as a female business owner That if you don't take time out, your problems will seem far bigger That sisterhood is a powerful bond that can hold you back if not dealt with correctly
Running a business is a challenge that allows you to evolve and grow. But if you don't have the ability to deal well with challenge and find yourself constantly retreating to an emotionally safe space, your business will suffer and you won't be fulfilled as a person. To deal with challenge you need to deal with uncomfortable feelings that arise from your unconscious belief systems. They will question whether you're capable of dealing with new things. Addressing these uncomfortable emotions, understanding where they're coming from and having a clear vision of what you really want and what matters to you will help you overcome challenge and evolve not only as a business person but in life. You will learn: That you need to define what matters to you and what you want to do with your life in order to have a fulfilling life and successful business When you are truly honest about what you really want, your answers will challenge the parts of you that worry whether you have the capabilities to achieve those deeply meaningful goals A lot of people avoid challenge because challenge is uncomfortable, so turn to certainty, where they feel safe. When you avoid challenge and retreat to certainty, the creativity required to really achieve what you want is diminished. How to approach uncomfortable emotions head on and move forward into new ways of thinking
There are only two things that make your business money; marketing and sales. And the better your marketing, the less you have to sell. So how do you make your marketing effective? It needs to appeal to the right type of client for your business. But who is that client and how do you get their attention? I explain the process in this week's show. It's about developing a niche and a detailed avatar of your ideal client. The inspiration from the show came about as a result of two new clients that we have taken into our Ignite Business Mastery Program - they had been advised to appeal to a broad audience but were getting low-value, unsatisfying clients. In the show you will learn: That if your marketing is too general, most people won't see it due to their brains filtering out irrelevant information That if you don't market yourself on your expertise, you'll end up competing on price, the lowest common denominator, for low value clients That if you care about what you do, you don't want clients who are only driven by price That identifying a high-value niche is vital to attracting the attention of the right clients How to create an avatar of your ideal client, painting a picture of who they are, their problems and how you can solve them. How to market to your avatar by demonstrating your expertise
Practitioner businesses such as physiotherapists or hairdressers can be incredibly difficult to scale because you're limited to the size of your practise, team and hours in the day. There IS a solution but it involves a shift in mindset. In this second part of my interview with Darron, a physiotherapist from Melbourne who specialises in face and jaw pain, I delve into how he can create a whole new business model and identify the parts of his personality that are holding him back from doing it. We discuss his business mission and more importantly HOW to achieve it whilst addressing the roadblocks that are stopping him. You will learn: How to create new & scalable models for your business that involve building the right team around you and creating new income streams That you need to define your mission and make it central to everything you do How the practitioner part of you that wants to help people will be limiting the entrepreneurial part of you That you need to understand what drives your behaviour and holds you back in order to overcome your roadblocks
Is your business based around your skills as a practitioner? Is that how you built your niche? This makes it incredibly difficult to build yourself out of your business because, in many senses you ARE the business. Whether you're a hairdresser or physiotherapist with a particular skill set that clients love, you need to put systems in place to make sure your business - and clients - are less reliant on you. In today's episode I talk to a Darron, a physiotherapist who specialises in face and jaw pain. He's one of the best at what he does and has built himself a brilliant niche. But he's a victim of his own success; he works too hard and wants to spend more time with his family. I discuss how he's changing and advise him that he needs not only to put systems in place but change psychologically to hand over the reins. You will learn: How creating a business around your skillset can be incredibly rewarding but also limiting - and what to do about it How, as a practitioner, your desire to help people can limit your business's ability to make money How to put systems in place to pass on your skills to a team How to deal with clients who only want you and no-one else! How you need to deal with your ego when taking yourself out of your business
Are you someone who beats yourself up over your mistakes? Do you criticise yourself and experience high levels of negative self-talk and self-doubt? This will be impacting your ability to perform well in business - as well as your evolve in your personal life. As a Business Coach with a keen interest in psychology, I understand only too well that you can't separate how a business owner thinks - what they believe or their emotional dispositions - from how they run their business. And this is why I address these patterns of thinking and how to evolve them in my work with clients. Today I will show you how your inner critic has taken shape and how to turn your past mistakes into things to learn from rather than negative things that hold you back. In doing so, you will evolve as a person to be more accepting of yourself - and others. You will learn: How the belief systems that create negative self talk originate in the unconscious mind How the more shame and guilt you have, the less ‘deservability' you have - i.e the feeling that you deserve success. How punishing yourself is reinforced in our societal and family beliefs - once you understand this you can start to overcome it How judging yourself also leads you to judge others How to use your past mistakes to evolve and learn, not prove that you're a horrible person! How to accept who you are, mistakes and all
This week I focus on what I believe to be a much neglected aspect of business coaching and helping people succeed in business; the power of the unconscious mind to drive decision making. Most decisions are driven from the unconscious realm. All the science shows that today, yet most people are unaware of how this affects their behavior. Because the unconscious mind is irrational, it can question great rational decisions and stop us from achieving what we want out of life. Today I will show you how you are not just a single “I” but that you are made up of different parts that question the decisions that other parts make. I give you examples to show how you can build self-awareness and move forward from self-doubting and self-sabotage to build a successful business. You will learn: How your unconscious mind questions and controls much of your decision-making How to become aware of the different parts of you that influence how you behave in business How to self-inspect to see what's happening on the unconscious level How to build a self-awareness that allows you to play to your strengths whilst delegating your weaker aspects to others How to stop YOU being the roadblock in your business Listen now!

She's very different to your standard broker who tends to be male, in their 40s-50s, wearing a suit and focussed on the deal rather than what's best for their clients. She really cares about her clients, many of whom are vulnerable and going through a divorce. In this session, Perry analyzes the personality traits that are holding Rachael back and encourages her to define her mission and let the world know about it. Peter, now senior management and responsible for business development for one of Australia's largest engineering firms, strongly believes that the unconscious habits he disrupted early on, and the self-awareness skills he's continued to develop, have played a massive and very positive part in his business and personal success. In this week's episode you'll discover… The skills you need to develop if you want to have a big impact in business or your life. What it is that REALLY stresses you out, and how you can overcome it. Why self-awareness and self-development play such a key role in your business success. And much much more…

If you're interested in thinking more strategically so that you can make more money easily, with less effort and build more passive income, then you're definitely going to want to listen to this week's episode. Today I am interviewing a young entrepreneur who I rate very highly, who works in an industry that for the most part, doesn't have a lot of switched-on business people working in it. During this episode you'll discover… Why it's essential that you take time out of your business on a daily basis when you are an entrepreneur so that you can access unconscious problem-solving powers, only available when you rest and relax. Why it's so important to create continuity income in your business so that you can stop the ‘feast and famine' income rollercoaster that many business owners experience when they are the ‘service provider' and also the main ‘marketer' in their business. How to develop an authentic ‘personality' brand that grows your business and stays true to you. And much more… Summary When working in a creative industry, if you lose the love of it, then you basically lose your business. It really does make it harder. We all have our logic component but we also have unconscious, problem solving powers, that only get accessed when we rest and relax. When you take time out, creative freshness happens. So as an entrepreneur, your brain starts working better, you make better decisions, better choices and you keep your inspiration levels high. If you work seven days a week there's no joy brought into your work. Continuity income is the key to developing a business with a consistent and stable cash flow, that in turn allows you to grow and develop the business further. You have to automate your marketing so that it runs 24/7, as well as delegate all your services providing, if you want to have a business that runs independently of you and without your constant input.
Would you like more income and freedom in your life? Then you must upgrade your belief systems. Mental sabotages have an enormous impact on your ability to grow wealth. In this week's episode, you'll discover… The anti-wealth belief that holds you back from a life of prosperity and success. The mental trickery that sends you into a downward spiral of self-sabotaging beliefs. (Once you're aware of this you can help prevent its influence on you.) Why we are often in conflict with ourselves and how to gain clarity on your direction forward. And much much more… Summary You are made up of many parts called sub-personalities. Each of these 20-30 parts have different beliefs and often conflict with each other. Beliefs are powerful. We inherit many of them from our parents. The rest are passed down through culture. Anti wealth beliefs hold you back from building the income you want in your life. You are NOT your beliefs. Always pull them apart and inspect them. Ask questions like: “Where did this conditioning come from? Is this really true? Your body is a biofeedback mechanism. Notice how it reacts when you say belief statements out aloud. Meditation helps to improve your mind-body awareness. Listen Now!
If you own an investment property (or intend to buy one), you'll love this episode. Today, Perry interviews an artist from Western Australia who bought some great real estate. The simple technique to decrease the time your mind wanders off during meditation. (You can do this with just 5 minutes per day.) Plus, how to deal with negative emotions (like fear and anger) and how to reduce the grip they hold over you. And much more… Summary Your ability to make high quality decisions is key to your success. Meditation clears your mind and allows you to make better decisions. It's easy to dismiss meditation because you're too busy. That's a big mistake. It can have incredible returns for you. You can't upgrade yourself unless you observe your behaviours, beliefs and patterns. And you can't observe yourself unless you have a contemplative practice like meditation to assist you. Start small. Do a simple exercise like the one shown in this episode for just 2-5 minutes and notice how it reduces your stress. Listen Now!

In today's episode, you'll discover… The KEY to access unlimited motivation and drive for your business. (Trust me, it's NOT what you think.) The impact your psyche has on your ability to create wealth. Plus, how to unearth the REAL value you provide your clients. Summary If you don't feel good about “self”, your motivation and drive will fizzle out. If you lack motivation and drive, you might have beliefs from your childhood that hold you back. If beliefs hold you back, you need to reprogram them and the natural drive to grow your business will return. Acknowledge the real value you give clients. What are the deeper, more intangible results you give them? Tap into that. It's often more motivating. Listen Now!
Do you want to earn more passive and scalable income? Most businesses who serve clients one-on-one find it hard to scale and grow. In today's episode you'll discover… How to create a fulfilling and meaningful business without the need to serve clients one-on-one. How to leverage and monetise your expertise at scale. The “mini-me” business model and how it helps you generate more income while working less hours. The number 1 thing other professionals must have if you want to hire them to replace you. The power of alignment and how it impacts your business. (Listen Now!) Summary It's hard to implement tactical strategies and scale your business until you face the neglected psychological patterns that hold you back. Don't be too humble if you truly are an expert. You might downplay your mission and play a smaller game in life. Let go of the immediate gratification you get from working with clients. Only then can you truly scale. Grow your income by educating on mass: For example, you can create a YouTube channel, perform group coaching and build a Facebook group. Use monetisation strategies to generate income. For example, you can promote products you believe in, take a percentage of the sale and find sponsorship deals.
Do you want a deep and meaningful life? A life where every single day is filled with passion and purpose? Over time many business owners become disconnected from their true gifts and joys. During today's episode you'll discover why most people don't achieve great wealth and what holds them back. You'll learn the importance of your “unknown zone” and how to motivate yourself. Plus, you'll discover what provided a single mother the ability to build a 5 million dollar business in 5 years. Listen Now! Summary To succeed in business you must be connected to your “why.” When you have a “why” and a higher calling or purpose you can push forward, even in the face of deep fears. Move outside your comfort and competency zones to grow. Observe your personality to reach self mastery. When you understand your personality, you have more emotional intelligence to be conscious of your weaknesses and self-sabotaging patterns.
Are you frustrated that you work too many hours? Want to spend more time with your family? Sadly, most entrepreneurs build businesses that can't function without them. The result? They feel trapped, overwhelmed and overworked. Listen Now! In today's podcast, you'll discover… The 3 steps to build a business that operates without you. How society programmed you to create a job rather than a business. Why many business owners spend decades learning but rarely implement strategies. The deepest fear that holds you back from success. (And no, it's not fear of failure.) Summary In order to build a hands-off business you must have 3 things: A stellar team. Most people hire the wrong staff. You need a team that shares your values. The kind of team that loves your business as much as you do and will keep it running even when you're away. Systems. This includes software to automate processes and procedure manuals so that staff understands the scope of their work. Upgraded psychology. You could have the best team and systems in place and yet still fail. You must identify the beliefs that limit your thinking and transform them. Otherwise you'll never implement your systems and team properly. (Note: At the Freedom Formula Workshop on the Gold Coast, Perry will discuss another important ingredient to achieve business success in 2019 and beyond.
Want more free time? You need talented staff to manage the majority of your business activities. Sadly, many entrepreneurs struggle to hire teams even when they desperately need them. In this week's podcast, Perry interviews Dave to uncover the blocks that trap him inside his business. You'll discover why business owners hesitate to bring on more staff and how to finally hire them with confidence. You'll learn when perfectionism is good and when it becomes a hindrance. Plus, you'll see what happens when someone comes face-to-face with their unconscious blocks. Listen Now! Summary Work “on” your business, not “in” your business. This allows you to spend the majority of your time on high-dollar productive activities like marketing, quoting, and relationship building. Having a “do it yourself” attitude in business is not compatible with growth or more free time. If you have a history of betrayal and people that have let you down, you'll find it hard to trust others and delegate tasks. You can have the best strategies in the world but if you don't upgrade the belief systems that control you from the unconscious, you'll struggle to implement anything.
Do you feel trapped by your business? Frustrated that you don't have enough free time? You need to delegate and hire the best talent possible. However, this is easier said than done. In this week's podcast, you'll discover the big mistakes business owners make trying to delegate and how to avoid them. You'll learn the two types of staff members and why there's a 78% chance you've hired the wrong type. Plus, you'll understand the power that self mastery plays in your life. There's even a story about a business owner who was addicted to the low-level tasks in his business. (Many entrepreneurs are guilty of this. Are you?) Listen Now! Podcast Summary Remove yourself from the day to day workings of your business. This is the only way to rapidly grow your profits. To increase your income you must know your most profitable gifts and talents and delegate everything else. Lots of business owners can't delegate tasks because unconscious belief systems hold them back. (You'll learn 4 of them.) Don't hire comfort seekers, only hire star performers. These experts pride themselves on doing the best work possible and tie this to their self worth. And best of all, they manage themselves. Make a commitment to reach self mastery. Without a deep understanding of your destructive inner beliefs and patterns, you'll sabotage your ability to implement sound business advice. You can have the best “how to” strategies but unless you overcome your roadblocks, your business will stagnate.
Perry's guest this week has an amazing story. Tracey's business went bankrupt after the GFC and has since started a relationship counseling business. However, she wants to focus less on trading “time for money” and move to a passive income model. In today's episode, you'll discover strategies to position your brand, how to generate more passive income and how to command higher fees. Plus, you'll learn how traumatic life experiences can sabotage your business goals for decades if left unchecked. Listen Now! Summary: Diversify your business to avoid times of economic downturn. Tracey's transport business went bankrupt during the Global Financial Crisis because all her eggs were in one basket. Traumatic and emotional wounds cause your unconscious to avoid that situation ever happening again. For Tracey this crippled her confidence in business and made her very risk-averse. To grow and be successful you need to focus on creating income producing assets that don't require your input. Become an authority in your niche and package up your expertise into courses and trainings. That's how you generate passive income. Position your business in a narrow niche to command higher fees and become the obvious choice for clients. Tracey could narrow her relationship counselling service to only wealthy tradesman.
You've heard it before: “pick a niche and specialize.” But is this necessary or just overrated? And if you do pick a specialty, what's the best way to go about it? In this week's show, Perry goes deep and answers an important niche question from one of his clients. Plus, you'll discover how getting this wrong skyrockets marketing costs and lowers sales. Listen Now!
In this week's episode Perry interviews Dan. He's a plumber with 20 years experience and gets many referrals because of his friendly, kind and honest nature. However, Dan still battles with low prices and wants to charge higher fees, while working with premium quality clients. Perry shares solid strategies to command higher fees and become the obvious choice above his competitors. You'll also discover the unconscious blocks that hold Dan back. (Do these same belief systems hold you back?) Listen Now!
Struggling to grow your wealth? It could be your belief patterns around love. You'll discover the “love+wealth” connection: how compassion helps and hinders your ability to grow financially with today's special guest, Hannah. Hannah is a property investor. She loves to buy run down properties, renovate them and then sell for profit. Over the years, she's had decent success but has plateaued at her current income level. Discover the fascinating wealth blocks that hold most of us back. Summary Hannah's abilities to reach her maximum capacity for wealth is deeply tied to beliefs about love. Her highest value in life is love and connection, not wealth. Unconsciously she believes that she can't be wealthy AND also be loved and accepted by others. In order to reach her potential as a highly successful investor, she needs to rewire her belief systems about love and power related to men. And she needs to rewire her beliefs about being rejected by her social circle and understand that not all people are insecure about other people's wealth and success. If she works on these elements, she'll no longer stagnate in her ability to invest. Listen to the episode to discover the new belief system that Hannah needs to internalize if she wants to reach new heights with her investing and wealth creation.
