Communication in any relationship is vital if you're going to stay connected and maintain a wholesome relationship. However, no one can actually teach the other how to pray. We learn by spending time together, studying one another and getting to know one another. No one can tell you nor should they give you specific words to say in your conversation, that takes away from personality and individuality. When it comes to prayer, we can only give you guidelines, principles, and a pattern as Jesus did when His disciples said to Him, "Lord, teach us to pray."
We live in a power-crazed society! Everyone is grappling for powerful positions...political, economical, psychological power. Much of the craziness in this world is because of sin and feeling powerless. However, the greatest power we all have access to is supernatural power through Jesus Christ. Your consistent prayer life produces powerful results. Example: The prophet Elijah (James 5:16). Try it! Practice praying in expectation of experiencing the transforming power of prayer.
Man's frailty as a human being makes him/her prone to breaking promises, even unintentionally. However, God is not a man; therefore, He does not break promises nor lie. We can put our confidence in Him to hear and answer our prayers. There are many promises in the Bible (Word of God) concerning prayer. Several are given in this episode. Get pen and paper to record as you listen to this podcast! Thanks for listening!
The premise for the book and the podcast. Without developing a "consistent" prayer life, one's relationship with God is weakened. Prayer is the Christian's lifeline. A prayerless life is open prey for the adversary that prowls like a roaring lion for weak and powerless Christians.
