On this week's episode of the Rad Chats podcast, we sit down with one of the best photographers in the 2A space, David Trieu. Even if you're not familiar with that name, I'd be willing to bet you've seen some of David's work, whether it be from his working relationship with Goon Tape, or other popular brands in the space like War Fighter Athletic, Perroz Designs, and even our friends over at A Better Way 2A. David and I get into a little bit of everything, from his creative process and inspirations, how he got started with photography, his transition into civilian life after his time with the Marines, and dealing with the ever-changing expectations of our respective immigrant parents. What's good community? On today's episode of the Rad Chats podcast, we'll be sitting down with the model citizen himself, Wet Wipes Actual.Wet Wipes and I first connected when he and Aggro the Creator were having their war of the Goon Tape builds. At the time I thought there was heat between them, but soon learned the competition was all in good fun. After talking for a few months on Instagram over our shared love of all things 2A and mental health, Wipes and I decided to meet up in person. It was during this meeting that the Dead Friend Society was born, thanks to some shared experiences with death…and maybe a few dirty martinis as well.During our conversation, you'll hear Wipes and I get into that story, along with all things mental health, his creative process, who exactly the Model Citizen is, the need to check on your homies, the surprising importance of sending it, and extending the olive branch in order to normalize gun culture. We truly get into it all, so without further ado, please enjoy my rad chat with the model citizen, Wet Wipes Actual. What's good community? On today's episode of the Rad Chats podcast, we'll be sitting down with none other than Myk of Rusk Co.For those that don't know, Myk was the first brand I reached out to after RC's inception, and we quickly became friends. Rusk Co also happens to be the first RC collab, a little RC Australia and RC USA connection if you will. This was definitely a fun one to record thanks to Myk's humor and hot takes. We get into quite a few topics, including our experiences with running a small business, Rusk Co's rebrand, Australian gel soft, the importance of being kind to yourself, getting out of your own head, and of course never being stagnant #NEVERSTAGNAT. We did have a few audio issues during this episode, shout out technology, as you'll hear some clicking throughout the thirty minutes or so. I was unable to remove a majority of these without ruining the integrity of Myk's audio. You'll hear me jump in around the 30 minute mark to provide context and fill in the gaps where our connection started to get spotty. Could we have re-recorded the episode? Sure. But as you'll hear, there were so many candid insights that we wouldn't have been able to recreate if we redid the episode. So without further ado, please enjoy this radically wide ranging conversation with Myk of Rusk Co.View full show notes, including links to any resources from this episode here: ___Live CalmStay RadThis is the Rad Chats podcastConnect with the Rad Chats Podcast:Discount: RadChats (10% off your order)Website: https://www.radicaliscalm.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/radicaliscalm/?hl=enRusk Collective: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ruskcollective/?hl=enhttps://www.instagram.com/mykoli.rusk.co/?hl=en

On today's episode we'll be talking with none other than Yaeger Actual, one of the most genuine and insightful dudes you'll find in the 2A space.Yaeger is undoubtedly one of the fastest growing creators in our space thanks to his distinct aesthetic and thoughtful messages. During our conversation, Yaeger and I discuss his dedication to discipline in all aspects of his life, as well as his creative process, his shift toward centering it instead of just sending it, the importance of mental health, adding value to the lives of others, and the evolution of our 2A commUNITY.I love that these conversations have been a way to shed light on each guest's wide range of interests. As I've often said, we're more than just gun guys and gun gals, and I hope that these rad chats are living proof of that fact.View full show notes, including links to any resources from this episode here: https://radicaliscalm.com/blogs/news/010-dedication-to-discipline-with-yaeger_actual___Live CalmStay RadThis is the Rad Chats podcastConnect with the Rad Chats Podcast:Discount: RadChats (10% off your order)Website: https://www.radicaliscalm.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/radicaliscalm/?hl=enYaeger_Actual: Instagram: https://instagram.com/yaeger_actual?igshid=NDBlY2NjN2I=

What's good community? This week we're going to pick up where we left off with Starlitdeath continuing to get deep and exploring the inner workings of the human mind, psychology, and all that fun stuff as we do on the Rad Chats podcast as we talk with Mariely of the MDT Method.I'm stoked to release this conversation as Mariely is actually the one who pushed me to start this podcast somewhere around the time my episode on the Stoked EDC podcast aired. After that episode aired, Mariely reached out to ask if I had ever considered doing a podcast. I don't believe there are any coincidences in life, and that this was a sign that I needed to start this podcast as I had been thinking about it since the beginning of RC.So who is Mariely and what is the MDT Method? Mariely is a veteran, a former Marine, a NASM certified personal trainer, a massage therapist, and an all around badass helping women to take control of their lives through fitness. We get into so many amazing topics from relationships, staying true to you, taking control of your own life, not expecting anything from others, her connection to spirituality and fitness, and much more. But really the main thing is Mariely's holistic approach to training that is so amazing.View full show notes, including links to any resources from this episode here: https://radicaliscalm.com/blogs/news/008-transforming-how-you-move-with-the-mdt-method___Live CalmStay RadThis is the Rad Chats podcastConnect with the Rad Chats Podcast:Discount: RadChats (10% off your order)Website: https://www.radicaliscalm.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/radicaliscalm/?hl=enMariely aka @TheMDTMethod: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/themdtmethod/?hl=enCoaching Inquiries: https://form.jotform.com/213515279818059
What's good community? I've been itching to release this week's episode for a while now, as we're talking with one of my favorite people in the 2A space, Starlitdeath. In a world filled with fakes, Star pretends to be no one but herself. As she puts it, Starlitdeath is a “sort of mental health, cosplay, gun guru person”. I don't know if there's anyone better at blending their various interests into one cohesive, functioning image. It's this unique blend of self-ownership from Star that inspired what would become the Mental Monday posts on our Instagram, which in turn inspired this podcast. Every week you can find Star sharing different aspects of her interests–one day it could be a video from her competition shooting, and the next you could see Star finding a way to connect cosplay to mental health, all while providing easily-digestible context and practicals to better oneself. Our rad chat was just about as diverse as both of our interests, as Star and I get into everything from gear and cosplay, to 45 vs 9 mil, the challenges around battling the stigma of being a 2A supporter, and even dive into some heavier stuff at the end.View full show notes, including links to any resources from this episode here:https://radicaliscalm.com/blogs/news/007-thriving-not-just-surviving-with-starlitdeath___Live CalmStay RadThis is the Rad Chats podcastConnect with the Rad Chats Podcast:Discount: RadChats (10% off your order)Website: https://www.radicaliscalm.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/radicaliscalm/?hl=enStarlitDeath: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/starlitdeath/?hl=en
On today's rad chat, we get an inside look at Canadian airsoft, both from a communal aspect a business standpoint, as we talk to Tina of Lady Killa Airsoft and Mitch of CanaOps.We quickly dive into mental health, as our guests share how they've weathered the storms of life, and how airsoft has and continues to be used by many for therapy. I mean, how awesome is it that you can let out your frustrations by going into battle with your friends in a safe environment?Tina and Mitch also share their mental health initiatives through Storm and AAA, aimed at helping those in recovery find healing through shared lived experience. The three of us definitely vibed as we all have a clear passion for wanting to help and support others in our respective communities. On this week's episode of the Rad Chats podcast, we'll be talking with one of my favorite 2A creators, Aaron.Aaron is a veteran, husband, photographer, and aficionado of all things fitness, 4runners, firearms, and of course, frenchies. You can find him on Instagram @4runners_firearms_frenchies. As you'll hear over the course of the episode, Aaron is a passionate advocate for veterans, and veteran mental health. Our rad chat picks up right where Aggro the Creator and I left off, as Aaron shares his experience in the Marines, the realities of transitioning into civilian life, and what he hopes other veterans can learn from his experiences. This conversation definitely felt like I was shooting the breeze with one of my boys. If you have young kids in the car, I'd skip this one or listen to it when you have some alone time, as Aaron and I drop a multitude of F bombs throughout the episode. On this week's episode we chat with Aggro the Creator . You may be familiar with Aggro from his Goon Tape builds, where he strapped everything from tiny hammers to axes onto his firearms. One of Aggro's recent posts blew up when EOTech reposted one of his builds. This particular build saw Aggro strap an EOTech onto his double barrel shotty, and appears to have attempted 50 BMG out of it. Aggro is a one of a kind innovator of ridiculousness and violence. While the beginning of our conversation revolves around firearms and gear, we quickly dive into the deep end. Aggro doesn't mince words when it comes to sharing his journey with mental health, and the reality of transitioning out of the military, and into civilian life. This conversation was a real eye opener to the things our men and women face, as a result of their time in the military.View full show notes, including links to any resources from this episode here: https://radicaliscalm.com/blogs/news/rad-chats-004-the-man-behind-the-mask-aggro-the-creator___Live CalmStay RadThis is the Rad Chats podcastConnect with the Rad Chats Podcast:Discount: RadChats (10% off your order)Website: https://www.radicaliscalm.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/radicaliscalm/?hl=enAggro the Creator: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/aggrothecreator/
On this week's episode we chat with Jordan of A Better Way 2A . This brand aims to "make the gun community better. [Their] mission is to create more inclusion in the gun community and to welcome the many diverse groups of individuals who are, and who wish to be, responsible gun owners. [They] do this primarily by creating 2A products that resonate with people from all across the political spectrum, by partnering with businesses who share similar values, donating to causes we love, and through advocacy..." Jordan and RC have a wide ranging discussion, conversing on such topics as their design process, having fun in the 2A space, giving back & helping others, as well as their perspectives as to why previously underrepresented groups are starting to show up and support the 2A community.View full show notes, including links to any resources from this episode here:https://radicaliscalm.com/blogs/news/rad-chats-003-abetterway2a Live CalmStay RadThis is the Rad Chats podcastConnect with the Rad Chats Podcast:Discount: RadChats (10% off your order)Website: https://www.radicaliscalm.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/radicaliscalm/?hl=enABetterWay2A: Website: https://www.abetterway2a.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/abetterway2a/?hl=en
