The Sage Advice Podcast is a new weekly podcast created to help survivors of abusive relationships. Together we can navigate the lonely, often treacherous process of putting their life back together after an abusive relationship ends. Our host is Erin Callen, the founder of S.A.G.E or Surviving Abuse with Grace and Empathy. As Erin was attempting to put her life back together after leaving her own abusive relationship she felt there was something missing. Friends and family were supportive, but they didn't understand her emotions. She saw a counselor every week, which was essential, but there were so many other hours in the week and she longed to talk to someone who understood. In 2020, Erin created SAGE to help bring together victims of abuse to learn from each other, create a community and find healing. You can find workshops, mentorships and meditation classes on the SAGE website sage.community. On the Sage Advice Podcast, we will talk with other abuse survivors, supporters of survivors and allies. Join the conversation on instagram @thesageadvicepodcast and @oursagecommunity because together we can survive abuse with grace and empathy. If you would like to be on the podcast to share your story, please email sageadvicepodcast@gmail.com

In the midst of an abusive marriage, Tina began having a recurring dream. Every night an image would come to her, an image she dubbed 'Mother Mary,' who told her to make a rosary. Confused at first, eventually Tina decided to listen and began making rosaries. What she found was so much bigger and more important than rosary beads, she found calm in the storm of chaos. Listen to Tina tell her incredible story of reinvention and resilience. Finding the quiet allowed her to follow a new path of healing and a new career helping others who suffer the effects of trauma. She fought every step of the way to heal herself and make sure she was financially secure. We had a great conversation and hope you enjoy. Before you skip this topic, I'd encourage you to listen. IPV stands for Intimate Parter Violence. It is a hard enough topic to cover alone but when adding pregnancy to the mix it can be very hard to comprehend. But-ITS HAPPENING. It happens all the time. We have to learn to listen to the hard stuff and educate ourselves so that we can help someone in need should they ever need it. Lola does a great job with giving personal experience and information so that we can all learn and spread the message. If this episode reaches just one person in need, it would have been worth it. Please listen. Follow us on Instagram @oursagecommunity and @thesageadvicepodcast. Don't forget to visit the SAGE website sage.community for workshops, meditations, mentorships and more.

My name is Erin and I am the host and creator of the Sage Advice Podcast. Almost two years ago I left my own emotionally abusive (sometimes physical) relationship and have been trying to process my emotions everyday since. It's hard to find yourself again when who you are can never be the same. The goal of SAGE and the Sage Advice Podcast is to come together, hear each others stories and help one another feel whole again. Today I am telling you my story. It's not fair to ask you to tell you story without sharing mine. I strongly believe that sharing each others stories helps us all get stronger and maybe one day you will tell me your story. The world could use more empathy, understanding, community and healing. Follow us on Instagram @oursagecommunity and @thesageadvicepodcast.
