Hollywood hated Nefarious. Critics gave it 27 percent. Audiences gave it 97 percent. And Steve Deace said he nearly died twice making it. In this episode, Lance Wallnau sits down with bestselling author and Blaze podcaster Steve Deace to talk about what really happened after Nefarious hit theaters in 2023, and why he's about to go even further with his next film. In this episode: * Why Steve says he nearly died twice, nearly divorced, and nearly went bankrupt while making Nefarious, and what he says happened on the other side of that * The real story behind the massive gap between Nefarious's 27 percent critic score and 97 percent audience score, and who Steve blames for it * Why Sean Patrick Flannery says his own Hollywood agent refuses to acknowledge he was in the film, and what happened when a major director screened it privately * The plot of Steve's new film, a redemptive supernatural thriller he describes as "the Omen meets A Christmas Carol," where the devil pitches a runaway young woman to become a demonic Mother Mary and give birth to the Antichrist * Why Steve believes storytelling, not politics, is the last place left in culture where real persuasion happens, and why he says a movie can be a bigger force multiplier than a Senate race * How Steve builds an entire script from visions he says come to him at 5 a.m., and why his son and director Damien Levett are part of the team behind this project * What it will take to finish funding the film, and how viewers can get involved Podcast Episode 2218: The Antichrist Is Coming to Hollywood? Vinnie saw Noah Kahan's crew driving into the city this morning. Ryan Reynolds shares a playful congratulations as ‘The Odyssey' surpasses ‘Deadpool and Wolverine' as the highest grossing R rated movie ever. Plus, a new Anne Hathaway movie, ‘Mother Mary,' comes to streaming and a new Taylor Sheridan horse competition show. The $4 Trillion Meta lawsuits continue today. Hour 1: Vinnie saw Noah Kahan's crew driving into the city this morning. Will this be the end of the “like” button? The saddest love story you've ever heard. The crazy reason Patrick Ewing never played with Jordan. Have you ever tried your dog's food? Matty has, and here's his review! Hour 2: It's Friday! And that means Sarah, Vinnie, and the gang give some bad advice. Which is actually great advice, mostly. This week, weddings are an exciting time in your life, but what if you had to share the spotlight with your fiance's twin? Then, how much is too much for concert tickets for your kid? Will they even remember it? Does that even matter?? Vinnie still can't believe the obsession with delivery, and it's about to get crazier. Amazon is promising drone delivery in 500 cities by the end of the year. This might cut down on porch pirates, but it also might cut down on fun ring camera videos. Nerd alert! Mushroom leather, and a crocodile the size of a car. Hour 3: You can always email us: SarahandVinnie@audacy.com. Drake is going big in his search for the right girlfriend. This time it's a goth chick and a castle. Some things are better left in the review mirror. Rosie O'Donnell is in the news. What's the pettiest reason you've used to dump someone? Of course, Matty has a bunch to share. Hour 4: It's New Music Friday! Weezer has a new album out today. The listeners are saying not to skip Paris Jackson. Sam Smith released ‘Hazel Eyes.' Stella Langley's debut album is here following her hit song “Boston.” The Foo Fighters are doing a One Night Only with AC/DC in St. Louis. Drinking has hit an all time low in America, again. This segment might make you hungry for a sandwich. Plus, a game!
Have you ever wondered if your relationships are affecting your ability to manifest? One of the most common questions I am asked: "How can I manifest when my family/friend/spouse is so negative?" Every relationship you have is impacting your energy and your manifestations. The question is 'are they affecting you positively or negatively' and what can you do about it? In this episode, I explain how to see relationships as a mirror of YOUR energy and how that empowers you to create the life you truly desire. I also answer a viewer's question about how to navigate being a mom with challenging kids and how to take care of your energy. Relationships are so personal that it really does take a one-on-one conversation to uncover the specific things that YOU need to address, and if you want to do that you can still schedule a Mother Mary Intuitive Healing Session for the 2001 price of just $149. Remember, YOU are the writer and director of the movie of your life, and you can change the script at any moment. Key Learnings: 1) Relationships are a mirror for us. They show us how we treat ourselves, and what we believe we deserve. They also show us what we believe to be true about relationships, such as "relationships are hard" or "love is sacrifice." Once you realize that you have a relationship belief that does not work for you, you can change it! 2) Rather than focus on changing other people, focus on changing the script and beliefs you hold. This is the only way to truly change your relationships. Decide what type of relationship you want to have, and then tell the Universe you insist on this being true for you by not settling for anything less. 3) Because relationships are so intimate and reveal our deepest needs and fears, the best way to manifest something different is to work with someone one on one to discover the underlying issue. If you want to work with me and Mother Mary to read your energy and see how your relationships are impacting you, you can schedule a Mother Mary Intuitive Healing session here. In this deeply moving episode, David Hoffmeister sits down with Brazilian A Course in Miracles teacher Jeane Mendes to share their amazing and profound encounters with the divine. Together, they explore what it means to experience true revelation and how to navigate the return to the physical world after witnessing pure light. During the conversation, Jeane recounts her extraordinary journey, explaining how she was lying in bed, exhausted from work, and seeking help from Jesus and Mother Mary when she heard the loving voice of God. She explains that this voice gently asked if she would let go of her worldly attachments before she stepped fully into an immensely loving light where she felt all minds were present within her. Similarly, David shares his mystical experiences in Kentucky, detailing a moment deep in the woods where he meditated while gazing into a friend's eyes. He describes how his visual perception of the physical world flattened out like a painting before bright light streamed through his friend's silhouette, eventually causing the physical world to disappear entirely into an unspeakable experience of pure light and love. Beyond the moments of revelation, the two teachers discuss the sudden relapses into unconscious guilt or deep sadness that can often follow when returning to the ego's thought system. To navigate this reentry, they provide insights on using forgiveness and trust in the Holy Spirit to release worldly attachments. By letting go of the need to control finances, diets, or relationships, they explain how one can live freely in the world without experiencing this spiritual surrender as a sacrifice. This week Anna talks with actors Sian Clifford and Laurie Kynaston, and with director Samuel Abrahams about their new film LADY, a mockumentary about a lonely aristocrat who invites a documentary crew into her home, with events taking a surreal turn as her desire to be seen spirals out of control. The episode opens with a lively conversation recorded live at BFI Southbank, where Sian, Sam and Laurie discuss how a real life YouTuber inspired the writers, the 15 day shoot at Somerleyton Hall in Suffolk, the improvisational freedom of shooting in documentary style, and the joy of working with a tiny, trusted crew. Questions from the audience touch on class, Britishness and the film's surreal turn into invisibility. Anna then sits down with Sian Clifford one-on-one, for a more in-depth conversation, about her leap of faith in taking on the role, the emotional afterglow of the BFI screening, FLEABAG's lasting legacy, and her recent run of releases including MOTHER MARY and THE BALLAD OF WALLIS ISLAND, and what it means to carry a film as a lead after playing mainly supporting roles. Te contamos lo que estuvimos viendo estos meses:
Did you know there is a powerful spiritual energy flowing through August? This month delivers a sequence I have not seen quite like this before: the 8/8 Lions Gate Portal, a Total Eclipse on the 12th, and the Feast of the Assumption on the 15th — all arriving within days of each other, all building on the energy of the Transfiguration on August 6th. What does this mean for YOU??? In this episode, I break down the metaphysical meaning of this year's 8/8 Lions Gate and why it is one of the most powerful activation windows of the year, and how YOU can consciously receive what this cosmic gateway is opening in YOU! I also share the meaning of the total Eclipse on the 12th – what it's clearing, revealing and how it is connected to the sacred events surrounding it. I will even share a brief message from Mother Mary with Her guidance for this sacred window! If you have been feeling like something is on the verge of opening – you are not imagining it! This August energy is real and meant to support you! PS - If you really want to take advantage of this time, you can register for the 8/8 Lions Gate Divine Light Activation Key Learnings: 1) Every year we experience the Lions Gate portal opening from July 26 – Aug 12th. The energy culminates on 8/8. This year, with Jupiter in Leo, the emphasis is on letting our light shine and coming out of the shadows! 2) This sequence of events begins on August 6th, the feast of the Transfiguration of Christ, when He manifested His LIGHT Body, His true nature. The Lions Gate on the 8th is the apex of this window of cosmic light pouring onto the planet. It begins this wave of energy that leads to the Assumption on the 15th. 3) The Total Solar Eclipse on the 12th happens on the final day of the Lions Gate Portal and is a powerful magnifier for releasing the old and embracing the new.
Sergio Pérez y Marta Gutiérrez hablan de Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Atrapa el millón, Mother Mary.

A listener named Michael asks Father Dave about ways we honor the Blessed Virgin Mary. Michael says, "I had a friend ask me, 'How many Marys do Catholics believe in?' They were referring to the many titles: Our Lady of Fatima, Our Lady of Lourdes, etc. The list is long. How can I explain the many manifestations of Mother Mary?"
July is not just another month — it is an open door. Mother Mary has a message for you, and it begins with letting go. In this episode of Mother Mary Speaks, I share a channeled transmission for July and August — a season of spiritual energy unlike any other. The anniversary of the first apparition of the Miraculous Medal falls on July 18th, and Mother Mary is calling us to work consciously with this sacred symbol to open ourselves to receive the blessings that are already on their way. In this episode you will discover: The spiritual significance of July and August energy What the Miraculous Medal is, its history, and how to acquire one (see show notes) How to consciously wear the medal so you receive its full spiritual benefit Mother Mary's message: let the first half of the year go — release what hasn't worked, and turn your eyes toward where you are headed How to stay open in your mind, heart, and hearing so that as the blessings come, you are ready to receive them This is your permission slip to stop carrying the weight of the past six months. The second half of the year is yours! Key Learnings: 1) July and August bring abundant blessings this year. It all begins with the feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel on the 16th and the anniversary of the first Apparition of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. The month continues with the feast days of St. Mary Magdalene and St. Anne, and then the Lions Gate Portal opens for two and a half weeks and spiritual energy pours onto the planet. This auspicious time ends with an ECLIPSE on the 12th, which sets you up for a powerful Assumption experience! 2) Where to begin? Start by getting and wearing a Miraculous Medal! A Miraculous Medal is not a 'lucky charm' but rather it is a portal that connects you directly to the heart of the Divine Mother! By entering Her energy field, you are automatically attuning yourself to the field of miracles. 3) Her message: "let go of the past, specifically the first half of the year, and keep your eyes and mind focused on the future. Keep your heart, mind and ears open to receive the blessings, opportunities and synchronicities that are already here for you." "By consciously wearing a Miraculous Medal, you become attuned to the field of miracles." Mary, our Mother, is the model of prayer. She teaches us many lessons for our lives, but her way of praying is something we are called to ponder and learn from. Her prayerful life kept her faithful, alive, and active in fulfilling her vocation as the Mother of the Redeemer. In this final episode of Teach Us to Pray, we reflect on Mary as the model of prayer. Learn more about this great saint, her spirituality, and her life of prayer with Fr. Larry Kaufmann, C.Ss.R., in our series Teach Us to Pray.

Which naturally turned into another lengthy celebration of Anne Hathaway and Michaela Cole in David Lowery's brilliant Mother Mary. We are going through a relationship renaissance right now. And when I say shit's crazy, I mean shit's crazy. But I know that we are redefining love as we know it, and there are higher levels of devotional love awaiting us that we have never in the herstory of time experienced before. I found Issy on Instagram and I could not stop saving her posts. Every single one was resonating. She is a sacred union priestess, a matchmaker of 8 years who managed 54 clients' love lives at once, and a woman who has walked this path herself and found her soulmate in the most unexpected way. This conversation went everywhere. From the difference between soulmates and soul family, to why your list is actually keeping you from your person, to what really happens when you have sex on the first date, to the moment Issy gave her love life over to Mother Mary and matched with her husband on Bumble days later. It is the conversation every woman on the sacred union timeline needs to hear. In this episode we explore:
Join Father Cyril, C.Ss.R., as he explores the profound devotion of Saint John Bosco to Mother Mary, discovering how her guidance continues to lead today's youth toward salvation.
Join Father Cyril, C.Ss.R., as he explores the Solemnity of Pentecost, reflecting on Mother Mary's profound connection to the Holy Spirit and how we, too, can conceive Jesus.

Claire and Gavia share their mixed feelings on Mother Mary, the stylish new psychological drama by David Lowery (The Green Knight). Exploring the tumultuous relationship between a Lady Gaga-esque pop star (Anne Hathaway) and her former costume designer (Michaela Coel), this genre-defying film incorporates elements of the supernatural into a story about creative collaboration and the destructive power of celebrity.

Adam and Josh discuss Mother Mary, the new film from David Lowery starring Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel. Part ghost story, part concert film, part chamber drama, the film traces the fraught creative and emotional bond between a pop star and her longtime collaborator as questions of art and control blur together. The conversation explores the film’s woozy dream-logic filmmaking and the moments where its ideas feel most arresting — and most difficult to reconcile. She turns to her former costume designer and estranged friend, played by Michaela Coel, to find herself again. The reunion resurfaces old wounds, and then things get spooky and weird. The film features a few grandiose concert numbers with songs penned by Charli xcx, Jack Antonoff, and FKA twigs.Follow Pop Culture Happy Hour on Letterboxd at letterboxd.com/nprpopcultureSubscribe to Pop Culture Happy Hour Plus at plus.npr.org/happyhourSee pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for sponsorship and to manage your podcast sponsorship preferences.NPR Privacy Policy
