Hello, I am Anna Mc Connell - Transformational Life Coach and Wardrobe Stylist, I help women and transwomen to create a wardrobe to match their lifestyle, bring out their true personality and simplify their life.A community question was recently asked. The question is: “I am getting head shots done soon, what is your best advice on selecting what to wear?’This is a great question.Several things are to consider, you are using your headshots for social media, website, print, therefore business, you want to look professional, approachable and trustworthy. So you want to determine who you want to appeal to?Who is your audience/clients you want to relate to?You want to convey a message that suits the industry you are working inTo be memorable and communicate who you really areAlthough simplicity is always best, you may want to show your personality with your signature style. A signature is something that you are immediately recognizable by, It may be the jewelry you wear, scarves, unique glasses or the way you wear your hair or makeup. Many celebrities have defined their brand with a signature style. I’m sure you can think of at least 5 right now.In terms of colors, the right colors should brighten your eyes and even out your skin tone. I’m sure you have been complimented many times on how radiant you looked or how glowing you were, those were your colors.Everyone can wear most colors, it all depends on the right shade of that color. For instance, I can wear a grass green which will make my eyes pop whereas a pale green, I will look as if I have jandice, the tone is very important.Check yourself in daylight against a white background as artificial lighting tend to change the color tone.Bold colors, jewel tones or solid are excellent choices for most skin tones. Blues are general favorites. To convey formality, colors such as brown, grey or navy are good choices.Black and stark white may cast shadows with artificial lighting and harsher on most skin tones. If you do want to wear black, wear a brighter color near your face or choose a cream instead of white.Avoid red if you have a pink undertone, it will bring out the red pigments in your skin tone. Most of these rules also apply to video. I hope this has helped.Have a lovely day,Bye See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

    How To Conceal Your Tummy

Hello, I'm Anna Mc Connell, Transformational Coach and Wardrobe Stylist.I help women and Trans-women regain confidence to make the right choices for their Style, Image and Wardrobe. With any transition in your life, whether it is a divorce, a wedding, a new job, a post baby or transitioning from male to female, I help you become the woman you longed to be.When shopping with my clients, this is one of the main issues for women and a question I get asked all the time. How can we conceal our tummy without covering up with shapeless tops and long jackets. Especially over 40, you don’t want to look pregnant or like a tent. There are ways to minimize and look thinner.Divide and conquerThink about the amount of fabric you are wearing. If Trousers cover your tummy completely or tops go all the way down over it, it just creates more bulges.Chose pants that divide your tummy and de-emphasizes the area.Think about slanted pockets and side zippers instead of bulky zippers in the front.Wider waistbands also work well2) Choose tops that have A percentage of lycra, spandex or elastin. They will skim the body better3) You can create an hourglass shape by letting your clothes do the work.Opt for tops that have a heavier weight or built in structure, such as princess seams, darts and empire waists that have a slimming effect. You can also play with color with garments that have color blocking for instance.Avoid loose, boxy and shapeless tops.4) In terms of belts, I would avoid wearing belts over your tummy If they come right under your bra line. We see a lot of women do this but it only emphasizes it. However a belt can be worn above an untucked top under a jacket. If the belt is peeking out from an open jacket it will be slimming. The jacket prevents the eye from seeing the entire waistline therefore makes it look smaller. But only if you are wearing a jacket.5) If you wear prints, bolder is better. Tiny prints have the contrary effect and make you look larger. Colorful graphic prints fool the eye and therefore camouflages.Ruching (the gathering on the sides) is another way to fool the eyeCreating a waistline is one of the most important things you can do. But you need to make strategic choicesWe all have the power to create the image we desire with the body we currently have. When shopping with my clients, we go over all these aspects;= Does the garment showcase my waist= Does it skim my body without being too tight or too loose= We always check the construction of the garment, buttons, zippers, hem, pockets, seams, darts. All the elements to create a flattering fit.= Does the garment highlight my assets and diminish my flaws. For this, you have to know what you want to enhance or conceal. When the clothes fit correctly, you just carry yourself differently, with more confidence.Your clothes express your personality, so don’t be afraid to shine.Celebrate your shape through clothing and make dressing fun again.I hope these tips have helped. To continue the Fashion journey, click on the link above and download my guide while it is still free. Are you on my mailing list yet?
