After 244 episodes of fashion debates, wardrobe dilemmas, trend predictions, and the occasional style confession, the Wisdom From the Wardrobe team takes a step back to look at the journey of the show itself. What began as a simple monthly conversation about clothes grew into a weekly exploration of fashion trends, personal style, wardrobe psychology, and the ever-changing relationship people have with getting dressed. Naturally, this episode begins in classic Wisdom From the Wardrobe fashion, with a slightly unexpected detour. Bec arrives armed with a Thera-Cane and the bold declaration that she may have been "born to be 80," which quickly leads to a lively discussion about the so-called Potato Shoe Theory. From Birkenstock Bostons to UGG slippers to foam-molded footwear that looks suspiciously like it may have been inspired by root vegetables, the team explores the rise of comfort-first fashion and the curious charm of "ugly-cute" shoes in the 2020s. From there the conversation turns toward the show itself and the many directions it has taken over the years. Along the way the team revisits memorable moments, spirited debates around the table, surprising fashion comebacks, and the universal wardrobe mystery of why we all seem to own at least one item we've never worn but absolutely refuse to part with. More than anything, this retrospective celebrates the conversations that made the show what it is: discussions about confidence, identity, creativity, and the small daily ritual of choosing how we present ourselves to the world through clothing. After hundreds of conversations about style, trends, and the psychology of getting dressed, the team reflects on what they've learned and what they hope listeners have taken away from the show. Trends may come and go, but great style — like a good conversation — never really goes out of fashion. If this is your first time listening, here are a few episodes from the archive to get you started: • Our conversations about personal style and confidence • Episodes exploring fashion trends and wardrobe psychology • Listener favorite discussions on closet clean-outs and wardrobe strategy Browse the full archive and discover more conversations about fashion, style, and the everyday ritual of getting dressed.

This year we are doing my group coaching course together via this podcast! It's free and it only gets better as the year progresses. In January we began with God at the center of our day and our home. We worked to build the habit of a morning prayer routine. I highly recommend the rosary. It's only about 20 minutes and you'll meditate on the whole life of Jesus. February is the month of decluttering. Saturday episodes have been added to focus on decluttering in the kitchen. Each month will have a different focus area and the Saturday episodes will help you focus on one small section of that room. For March we are decluttering our wardrobes. Each Saturday episode will give you a very small area of your wardrobe to help you focus. You'll have all week to declutter that area before moving on to the next focus area. If you're new here, welcome and give this first episode of 2026 a listen to hear where to begin: 316. Your 2026 Life Overhaul Plan: Faith, Clutter, Debt, Diet and More! In this powerful episode, author and former sports broadcaster Peter Young shares the deeply personal story of how he unknowingly became entangled in a destructive religious cult—and how faith ultimately helped him find freedom and healing. Dr. Beth Capecchi sits down with Peter to explore his remarkable life journey—from college basketball and broadcasting to a devastating spiritual and personal crisis. Hey, friend! I'm so excited today. It's time for one of our favorite episodes of the year! We're diving deep into the 2026 spring fashion trends. If you've spent even five minutes scrolling Instagram or popping around YouTube lately, you might feel like you need an entirely new wardrobe this season. But you don't need to chase every trend. It's all about choosing the right ones. So I'm breaking down what's actually worth buying for your wardrobe right now… and what's probably better left on the runway. We'll talk about the most wearable silhouettes, the accessories that will instantly (and inexpensively) update your outfits, the colors that are dominating this season, and a few trends that are fun to watch, but a bit more impractical to wear. And most importantly, I'll share a simple filter to use to pinpoint which trends are right for you, so you can refresh your closet without wasting money or ending up with pieces you never wear. If you want to know which trends are actually worth adding this season — and which ones you can confidently skip — keep listening. Science class meets style column this week on Wisdom From the Wardrobe. We kick things off with Bec's In the News, where she introduces a fascinating innovation in fashion technology: a chalk-based mineral polymer coating that blocks UV and infrared radiation and can cool fabrics up to eight degrees. That's right, a fabric finish designed to literally keep you cooler. When science and style collide, we're paying attention. From there, we head straight to the runways to unpack the Spring Summer 2026 fashion trends, and let's just say the designers did not come to whisper. This season is playing with proportion, personality, and a healthy dose of drama. Voluminous silhouettes are expanding around the hips, minis are confidently reclaiming leg day, and bold primary colors are clashing in joyful technicolor moments that feel more playground than palette. There's fringe with a sporty edge, draped fabrics creating movement and ease, and statement jewels escaping the eveningwear drawer to sparkle unapologetically in broad daylight. Along the way we also discussed the ongoing runway romance with midriff-baring suiting (a look some of us may admire more than adopt), the enduring power of sharp tailoring, and the inevitable return of florals for spring, this time revived from archival prints and given a fresh artistic twist. In other words, the Spring Summer 2026 style trends are bold, expressive, occasionally baffling, and undeniably fun to talk about. As always, we sort through what works on the runway, what might actually work in a real-life wardrobe, and which trends might be best appreciated from the comfort of a front-row opinion. Because fashion may change every season, but a good style conversation never goes out of fashion.

Fr. Robert McTeigue provides guidance for those who are confused about worship. In a world that often appears increasingly disordered, why should the faithful approach divine worship with greater seriousness and reverence? If the Mass is frequently treated as a mere social obligation or an inconvenience, what responsibility do clergy and laity share in restoring a proper understanding of its sacred purpose as an act of reparation offered to God for debts that can never be fully repaid? Andy and Dani travel to Narnia! Does this story still hold up?!? Hell yes it does! Are there secret police that tattle on the whereabouts of at risk characters?!? Um.. well yes thats also true... Is this whole story actually about the idea of believing in God and that everything you do you should do in his name?!? Oh well... uhh ya... I guess that's true...
Each of us brings a couple of “facts” to the table, but there's a twist — some are completely true, while others are total nonsense. The challenge is figuring out which is which. On today's episode, the facts got particularly random. From the possibility of winning a year's worth of days off to bizarre trivia about wardrobe doors, the team had to decide what sounded believable and what was clearly made up.

"The Colors Everyone Will Be Wearing in Spring 2026 (According to Pantone)" Fashion exhibitions, fearless color, and a little bit of "menopause mayhem." Just another stylish week on Wisdom From the Wardrobe. We kick things off, as always, with In the News, where Bec brings us word that the iconic Met Gala has announced its upcoming theme, "Costume Art." The exhibition explores the idea that the dressed body is a common thread across the entire museum collection, a reminder that clothing isn't just fashion, it's storytelling. From museum halls to the runways of New York Fashion Week, we then turn our attention to the Spring/Summer 2026 Pantone color trends, and this season's palette is anything but shy. According to the Pantone Color Institute, designers are pushing back against AI-driven sameness and leaning into bold personal expression. The result? A mix of comforting neutrals and vibrant statement shades that feel optimistic, expressive, and occasionally… a little chaotic. Think tones like Burnt Sienna and Coffee Bean, interesting shades like Muskmelon, soft romantic shades like Dusty Rose, and grounding hues like Marina and Sage Green. In other words, there's a color for every mood, including the occasional moment of what Stacy lovingly referred to as "menopause mayhem." In this episode, we break down the Spring Summer 2026 color trends, talk about which shades actually work in real life wardrobes, and share practical ways to incorporate trending colors without feeling like you're dressed as a Pantone swatch. Because great style isn't about wearing every trend. It's about knowing which ones deserve a spot in your closet. Expect plenty of laughs, a few honest opinions, and the usual reminder that personal style should be fun and not a paint-by-numbers exercise. If you've wondering which fashion color trends are worth trying (and which might be better left on the runway), this episode is your stylish cheat sheet.

A 1998 Yohji Yamamoto suit. A front row seat at New York Fashion Week. And the enduring mystique of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy. This week on Wisdom From the Wardrobe, we begin with In the News as Bec unpacks the buzz around the upcoming TV drama Love Story, inspired by John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy. In a fashion moment that felt almost cinematic, Violet Grey founder Cassandra Grey wore Carolyn's actual black Yohji Yamamoto suit from 1998 to sit front row at Khaite, just feet away from the actress portraying her. Proof that true style doesn't expire. It evolves. It echoes. Which leads us to this week's deeper conversation: When getting dressed feels emotional, and why that's completely normal. Because if you've ever stood in front of your closet feeling frustrated, disconnected, nostalgic, or "off," it's rarely about the blouse. Getting dressed is one of the first acts of identity we perform each day. It's how we signal who we are to the world and to ourselves. So, when life shifts career changes, aging, body changes, confidence shifts, new priorities, but the wardrobe hasn't caught up, friction happens. And that friction feels emotional. In this episode, we gently unpack the psychology of personal style: How clothing functions as identity signaling Why cognitive dissonance shows up when your closet reflects a past version of you The role of body perception and vulnerability in getting dressed How memory is embedded in fabric Why decision fatigue can amplify emotional reactions We also offer practical, calming tools, not corrective ones. From creating a "safe outfit" formula to making micro-adjustments instead of dramatic overhauls, this conversation is about removing shame and replacing it with curiosity. Because here's the reframe: If getting dressed feels emotional, it's usually not about clothes. It's about change. And change is growth. This episode blends a little fashion psychology, wardrobe mindset, and personal style evolution into a thoughtful conversation that reminds you: you haven't lost your style. You're just growing into a new one.
Reframe how you think and feel about decluttering your wardrobe—with zero guilt, and a lot more you. In this episode of The Style Stories Podcast, I'm breaking up with the outdated rule: “If you haven't worn it in a year, get rid of it.” That tiny sentence has caused more anxiety, shame, and decision-paralysis than almost anything else in your wardrobe. Instead, I walk you through a fresh, kinder, more intelligent way to edit your clothes so your wardrobe reflects who you are now—not a past version of you. We dive into: Why you're not wearing so many of the clothes you own (and it's not because you're lazy or bad with style) The TWO key questions to ask yourself instead of “Have I worn this in a year?” How to work out whether something still feels like you today How to spot where your wardrobe is unbalanced (workwear, going-out, occasion pieces, everyday “in-between” outfits) Why chasing a perfect 10-piece capsule can actually block your personal style How to start listening to your gut so getting dressed feels easier, lighter, and more you If you're ready to stop feeling guilty every time you open your wardrobe and start making calm, confident decisions about what stays and what goes, this episode is for you.
Sequins on ice? Absolutely. Sequins at brunch? …maybe not. On this episode of Wisdom From the Wardrobe, we kick things off in In the News with a look at the jaw-dropping Olympic figure skating costumes, intricate, hand-embellished masterpieces costing anywhere from $3,500 to $8,000 each (and skaters need three!). It's performance dressing at its most dazzling, and a reminder that sometimes fashion really is a sport. From there, we glide straight into a question far closer to home: How do you look put together without feeling overdressed? Because somewhere between "I just threw this on" and "Why am I dressed for a gala at the grocery store?" lives the sweet spot. In this episode, we unpack: The very real anxiety of being overdressed vs. underdressed Why structure and fit matter more than price tags or trends What actually makes an outfit look polished (hint: it's usually balance) How to look polished without looking try-hard Easy outfit formulas for errands, casual workdays, lunches, and everyday life And why confidence is the most powerful finishing touch We talk about finding your balance, because personal style isn't about perfection, It's about intentionality. Looking put together doesn't require more effort; it requires clarity. We also bust the myth of "effortless style." Effortless isn't accidental; it's edited. If you've ever stood in front of your closet wondering how to look polished every day without feeling overdone, this episode gives you practical tools, real-life outfit formulas, and a mindset shift that makes getting dressed feel easier, and a lot more fun. Because style isn't a performance, It's communication. And when you find your balance, you don't have to overthink it — you just show up.

Have you ever stared at a wardrobe full of clothes and still thought… I have nothing to wear? You're not alone. In Episode 81 of It's a Mindset, I'm joined by Emma Edwards — financial behaviour specialist, founder of The Broke Generation and author of The Wardrobe Project — to unpack the powerful psychology behind our spending habits, self-image and relationship with consumption. Emma undertook a radical experiment: one full year without buying any clothes. No new pieces, no second-hand finds, not even rentals. What followed was a deeply honest journey that challenged the cultural “hamster wheel” of fashion consumption and revealed just how closely our spending can be tied to identity, insecurity and emotional needs. This conversation goes far beyond budgeting. It's about awareness, behaviour and the quiet patterns driving many of our financial decisions. Emma really encouraged me to reflect on my own consumption — especially when it comes to clothing — and what might be sitting underneath those choices. It was such a powerful reminder that money habits are rarely just about money. Emma is the founder of Broke Media and host of The Broke Generation Podcast, reaching tens of thousands of listeners each month. As a Certified Financial Behavior Specialist®, she is known for helping people feel good about money by focusing on the psychology behind our financial choices — not just the numbers. This teaching invites us into a profound exploration of gratitude as a cornerstone of abundant Christian living. Drawing from Colossians 2:6-15, we discover that gratitude isn't merely an occasional emotion reserved for special occasions, but rather a transformative trait that should characterize our entire existence. The message powerfully breaks down gratitude into three essential components: the benefactor (Christ Jesus the Lord), the benefit (our complete salvation), and the beneficiary (us as recipients). What makes this particularly compelling is the recognition that gratitude has measurable effects on our physical and emotional well-being, decreasing depression, anxiety, and stress while increasing energy, hope, and contentment. Yet beyond these natural benefits lies something far greater: when we truly grasp what Christ accomplished on the cross, canceling our debt and disarming spiritual powers, we cannot help but overflow with thanksgiving. The vivid illustration from The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe brings home the reality that we were traitors deserving death, yet Christ offered Himself as our substitute. This isn't just theological theory; it's the foundation for a life marked by continuous gratitude, recognizing that everything we have, from our next breath to our eternal destiny, is an undeserved gift from a lavish God.
John has officially reached DEFCON 1… and apparently, so has his wardrobe. On this episode, John threatens public nudity if his latest sports prediction doesn't come true (yes, we're concerned too). The guys debate whether the Chicago Bears are actually plotting an escape from Chicago, what that would mean for the lakefront, and why stadium drama always gets more attention than the offensive line. Plus, are the Tennessee Titans cooking up fresh new uniforms to distract from the rebuild? We break down the rumors, the rebrands, and whether a new look can fix old problems. Wardrobe malfunctions, moving trucks, and makeover season in the NFL — it's all here. Listen responsibly.
The Style Reset continues, and this time, we go deeper. In Part Two of The Style Reset: How to Dress for the Life You're Actually Living, the conversation shifts from lifestyle alignment to something far more personal: closet guilt. The Style Reset continues, and this time the conversation goes deeper. In this follow-up episode of Wisdom From the Wardrobe, we move beyond identifying how you actually live and into one of the biggest obstacles standing between you and effortless personal style: guilt. We begin, as always, with In the News. This week, we reflect on the passing of legendary Italian designer Valentino Garavani, his cinematic inspirations, enduring glamour, and the unmistakable legacy of Valentino red, before pivoting to fashion's lighter side with the latest Crocs x Lego collaboration. From couture to clogs, it's proof that fashion holds space for both reverence and play. Then we turn inward and focus on letting go of guilt around the pieces you don't wear. Why do we hold onto clothes that no longer serve our daily lives, and how does that emotional weight keep us stuck in the same outfit cycle? We explore the idea that clothing is a tool, not a moral obligation, and how creating an "archive" mindset allows you to honor beautiful pieces without forcing them into everyday rotation. If part one was about aligning your wardrobe with your lifestyle, this episode is about giving yourself permission to evolve. This is a thoughtful, honest look at personal style growth, wardrobe mindset shifts, and redefining what it means to truly dress for the life you're living now. Happy Styling!
Winter may not always be dramatic, but the style slump is real. In this episode of Wisdom From the Wardrobe, we tackle that familiar moment when getting dressed starts to feel repetitive, heavy, and just a little uninspired. We open with our In the News segment recapping the 2026 Grammys, sharing our thoughts on who wore what and the rise of increasingly "undressed" red carpet looks before turning the conversation back to real-life style. This episode is all about breaking out of winter wardrobe fatigue without buying an entirely new closet. We unpack why the slump happens, how months of repeating silhouettes can drain creativity, and why the solution isn't spring shopping but smarter styling. From shifting proportions and mixing textures to adding one intentional detail that changes everything, we share practical ways to refresh outfits you already own. You'll also hear our favorite repeatable outfit formulas designed for real life, from elevated casual layers to effortless tonal dressing and winter-ready dresses that bring new energy into the season. If winter dressing feels more like endurance than inspiration, this conversation offers a grounded reset focused on ease, intention, and rediscovering what already works in your wardrobe. Because sometimes style doesn't disappear in winter, it just gets quieter.
I have too many clothes, and I love them all. I need to donate more and can't seem to cull them out. I do not know my style other than comfortable. I feel I dress boring. I do not like fussy clothes. My biggest challenge is finding outfits that look good on me.

As an LA-based stylist working with top executives, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders from around the world. This one will make you look at your closet (and yourself) completely differently. Here's what we play with in this one: Why your wardrobe is the most underutilized manifestation tool you own The identity shift that took Chellie from $2,500 packages to $40K — and how she held it as a woman Body dysmorphia: the thing every woman deals with (yes, even the powerful ones flying in on private jets) Why "size up, tailor down" is the styling philosophy that changes everything The conditioning from your mother that's still running your closet today How getting dressed every day is neuroscience-backed energy work What happened when Chellie moved to LA with zero clients booked — and had her biggest month ever Style as a daily self-care practice, not a shopping spree The connection between how you dress, what you charge, and who you attract ✨ Try this: For the next 30 days, get your hot ass dressed every single day — even if you're not leaving the house.
