This Omni Talk Retail Fast Five segment reacts to Target's decision to name fashion icon Isaac Mizrahi as its first-ever Creative Director at Large, a brand new role in which Mizrahi will advise on product design, mentor Target designers, and help the retailer reclaim its iconic cheap chic identity. Chris Walton and Jenn Hahn aren't exactly wowed. While they agree that creativity never hurts, both question whether a lack of design vision is actually what's holding Target back right now or whether the real issues are operational, from store execution to service to merchandising. Chris draws on his Target background to push back on the nostalgia play, invoking the legendary Missoni sellout as a reminder that you can't go back to the well and expect the same magic twice. They also wonder aloud where Mizrahi's influence will begin and end across a portfolio this broad and whether this headline is more about buzz than genuine strategic direction. ⏩ Tune in for the full episode here: https://youtu.be/k2JviUlR0-Q

Cultural gaslighting is attempted when people in charge of something take some absurdity, throw a saddle on it, and then stand next to it, booted, spurred, and ready to ride. For example, the absurdity could be saying that the attempted beheading in Ireland was the result of us not being welcoming and inclusive enough. And believe me, they will ride that absurdity as long as the people out there put up with it. Who are you going to believe? Me or your lying eyes? For more from Doug, subscribe to Canon+: https://canonplus.com/
I was so excited to welcome Kyleigh Leddy to Books Are Chic to celebrate her debut novel, Worse Than Strangers. As a fellow New Englander, I loved connecting with Kyleigh and chatting about the places and experiences that helped shape this beautiful story.Set on Nantucket, the island feels like a character all its own and that's no surprise, considering Kyleigh spent much of her life there. We talked about her transition from nonfiction to fiction, writing romance, reimagining Jane Austen's Persuasion for a contemporary audience, the magic of the beach, mother-daughter relationships, and so much more.Kyleigh was an absolute delight to chat with, and I can't wait to watch her flourish as a fiction author. Add Worse Than Strangers to your beach bag this summer and be sure to follow Kyleigh, you'll want to be along for the ride!

They're slowing down... but, you can turn them in and get back double your money! Quite a steal! Oh how times have changed! What did your parents do back in the day that would get them absolutely cancelled these days? Chic fila is no longer the #1 fast food restaurant... who takes the cake? JERSEY MIKES! Anna, Raven, Producer Sophia, Producer Justin give their single favorite fast food product Those pesky card subscriptions. Are you going to renew it... or cancel? That gym membership you haven't used in 8 months or your Costco one you haven't visited since the first time you went. Well, Raven has two of them. Double trouble. Group projects. The bane of the existence of a highschooler with summer around the corner. There are ALWAYS 4 people in the group. Anna describes each... which one are you? Scotland is here for a good time! The world cup welcome them back after MANY years and as they are proud, they are drinking our bars dry. No beer they like here, yet its ALL gone, even on the planes! Thea and George's five-year-old was invited to a classmate's house birthday party. On the evite, it says, “No siblings, drop off only” and George is uncomfortable with that. Thea says he's overreacting. What do you think? Ashley has a chance to win $2,800! All he has to do is answer more pop culture questions than Raven in Can't Beat Raven!
Comedian and beauty queen Victoria Chuah joins Lit Hein fresh off going viral for her coverage of the NYC WAsian meetup — which s parked a whole debate about the ethics of celebrating WAsian-ness. Victoria competed at both Miss USA and Miss America, and she spills about the inner workings of pageants and her various enemies (nothing is her fault btw). We also get into how she spots white guys who are weird about Asian girls, Taylor Swift's ongoing Sombre fixation, and a very special Wasian celebrities edition of Chic or Freak.

I was beyond thrilled to welcome back Hannah Brown to Books are Chic for the third time! We caught up to celebrate her latest novel, Reasons to Be Loved by You, the third book in the “Hannahverse.”It has been such a joy to read Hannah's books and watch her writing career soar. There's something incredibly special about following an author from their debut and cheering them on with every new release. And if you ask me, Hannah is only getting better with each book. I remember saying during our very first conversation that it felt like she had been writing romance novels for year and I stand by that today. In this episode, we dive into book three, how her writing has evolved throughout the series, the personal connections she has to this story, and so much more. Hannah is an absolute delight, and her entire backlist is packed with the kind of charming, heartfelt romances that belong in every summer beach bag.
Escuchar audio

If you're looking for a sweeping, epic, and dramatic love story to kick off your summer reading, look no further than Into the Blue. This novel checks every box, and I absolutely loved it. I was thrilled to welcome Emma Brodie to the podcast to celebrate not only the book's release, but also its selection as Reese's Book Club and a Book of the Month pick for May.As fellow New Englanders, Emma and I had plenty to discuss, especially since the region is woven so beautifully into the story. We talked about her path to publication, the challenges and joys of writing a sophomore novel, how Vanderpump Rules and the infamous Scandoval saga unexpectedly influenced the book's development, our mutual love for Julia Spiro, and what it's been like publishing under Jenna Bush Hager's imprint.Trust me when I say this: Into the Blue belongs on your summer TBR. It's the kind of unforgettable love story that will stay with you long after the final page—and you'll thank me later.

Trust me when I say this one belongs in your beach bag this summer. This wildly entertaining mystery, set aboard a luxury yacht, will have you missing your favorite Below Deck crew while racing to uncover what really happened. In 1979, Sister Sledge changed the sound of wedding receptions forever with “We Are Family.” Believe it or not, the Chic-penned banger never made it to No. 1. Steely Dan helped invent Yacht Rock with 1977's jazzy bop “Peg.” (They would have loved it better if it had cracked the Top 10.) And in 1972, Elton John told a timeless tale of a blue-jean baby, a “Tiny Dancer.” Casey Kasem never counted it down.Today on Hit Parade: Chris Molanphy celebrates “near misses”—now-ubiquitous hits that missed the mark on the pop charts, stalling out at No. 2, No. 11, or No. 41. https://wels2.blob.core.windows.net/daily-devotions/20260530dev.mp3 Listen to Devotion On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink.” John 7:37 Swank or Saving? Exclusive. Trendy. Natty. Dapper. Chic. Swank. These adjectives describe Ty Nant. Ty Nant is a company in Wales that bottles and sells water. In 1976, a water diviner instructed a British farmer to bore beside his house through 100 feet of rock. He did. And he hit a powerful spring. Thirteen years later, the water that wells up adjacent to the stone farmhouse was on the market. And these days, Ty Nant bottled water graces the tables of some of the world’s most esteemed restaurants. Ty Nant’s water may wet one’s taste for being trendy or chic, but it cannot quench the thirst of the soul. That’s because every person enters this world with a hellishly parched soul. Ty Nant’s hydrating properties can’t soothe such sin-scorched souls. And Ty Nant’s social status can’t soften what is shriveled in death. But there is water that springs from eternity. It is effervescent from the peace and power of Almighty God. It cannot be discovered by any human diviner, but is graciously revealed in the divine man, Jesus Christ. In his own words, Jesus explains: “Let anyone who is thirsty, come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” This is not about being swank but being saved from our accursed selfishness. This is not about being trendy but being quenched in our thirst for life with God. This is not about being chic but being confirmed in a child-like faith that declares, “Jesus is my Savior from sin.” Ty Nant, when translated, means “House by the Stream.” How chic! But Jesus Christ opens his home in heaven to us. Ty Nant is temporarily trendy while Jesus Christ is eternally satisfying. And Jesus is free. Prayer: Dear Jesus, when I’m feeling down or worried or sad, help me realize that I’m experiencing spiritual thirst. Then help me turn to you and your promises to quench my thirst. Amen. Amen. My OG OG, Kristy Woodson Harvey, is back! And when I say we go way back, I mean over a decade ago when I first received her debut novel and welcomed her onto my blog. She has been a favorite ever since and truly is one of the absolute best.We celebrated her latest novel, Summer State of Mind, and trust me, the title says it all. Once you dive in, you can practically feel the summer breeze coming off the pages. People calls her books “elevated beach reads,” and I could not agree more. Kristy has such a gift for pulling readers into stories that are equal parts escapist and heartfelt. This latest delivers everything readers love about her work: a strong leading lady, characters you genuinely want to spend time with, rich Southern charm, and emotional depth that lingers long after the final page. It is classic Kristy in every way.We also caught up on all the exciting things happening in her world, from new developments and more Peachtree Bluff conversations to life as an athlete, her latest favorite reads, and so much more.Consider this your sign to add Summer State of Mind to your beach read TBR immediately.
Elated to welcome back one of the queens of summer reads, Annabel Monaghan. These conversations are always among my favorites, and I'm endlessly grateful that Annabel continues to return to celebrate her books with me. She has such a gift for making every story feel deeply personal, like a place you've known or people you've grown up beside, while remaining so grounded, warm, and relatable. This year, I am screaming from the rooftops about Dolly All the Time. Newly selected as the June GMA Book Club pick, this is going to be the book of the summer — the ultimate beach accessory, if you ask me. I told Annabel it may be my favorite book she's written, which is saying a lot, but also one of my all-time favorite reads. Yes, I said it.Why? Because Annabel captured something so specific and nostalgic for me. The setting felt so close to home, and the characters reminded me of people I grew up with. I was instantly transported back to summers by the ocean, to that unmistakable feeling of home and memory colliding. If you grew up near the water, you'll understand exactly what I mean.We talked about the inspiration behind the novel, the pull of the ocean, the beautiful dedication to caregivers, and so much more. Honestly, I didn't want the conversation to end.Dolly will stay with me all summer long because it is a reminder of humanity, humor, and love — all the things we need most right now.

What a delight it was to welcome THE Brooke Averick to Books Are Chic to celebrate her debut novel, Phoebe Berman's Gonna Lose It. I'm telling you now, this book is going to be the ultimate seaside companion this summer. Phoebe is the kind of leading lady you won't soon forget, and Brooke is absolutely about to become a new auto-buy author for your bookshelf.Brooke and I chatted about the transition from podcaster to author, the pressure of writing for an audience that already knows and loves her voice, the magic of a great love story, and the excitement of finally sending this book into the world. While Phoebe delivers plenty of romance, the real heartbeat of the novel is its celebration of friendship and the people who carry us through life.
Latest Reese Witherspoon Book Club pick and author of one of my all-time favorite novels, Alexandra Andrews joins me on the podcast! Her latest thriller, The Fine Art of Lying, is a slow-burn suspense story packed with the kind of twists only Alexandra can deliver. Her debut, Who Is Maud Dixon, remains one of my ultimate gateway recommendations for anyone looking to get back into reading. I'm genuinely jealous of anyone experiencing it for the first time. The Fine Art of Lying follows a deliciously complicated leading lady who becomes entangled in the dark underbelly of the art world, and I could not put it down. Alexandra and I chatted about sophomore novels, the art world, becoming part of Reese's Book Club, and of course, my endless fangirling over Maud Dixon.I already can't wait for her next book… though if you listen to the episode, you'll probably hear me say that at least a million times.

Joshua Kane please dress us! Amy Phillips and Emily Dorezas comedically recap Ladies of London, riffing on the cast endlessly “yelling across the garden,” Kimmy's allegedly raw Longleat omelet, and the show's mean-spirited “British way” of mocking outfits. They joke through Margo's villain arc and her disastrous confrontation with Mark—describing his sudden gentle tone as creepy and performative—while clocking how she torpedoes her own case with harsh insults. The conversation detours into Joshua Kane's runway suits (including “detached collars” and a very specific fit critique), Lottie's melodramatic runway panic, and a Christopher Guest-style parody fantasy. They spiral into bits about hormones, progesterone at Costco, cheddar cheese origins, demanding royal titles for Emma, tiara shopping, and Micah's confusing “Art of Showing Up” launch—then cap it with Mark's dramatic, posture-perfect crying and a final reminder: don't yell in the garden.BLISSY Wake up with clearer skin, smoother hair, and cooler sleep.
