Jordan and I discuss Luca Guadagnino's Call Me By Your Name. But most importantly, the 3 Sufjan songs featured heavily in the film! Is this a Song of Songs style love story? Or is it an older guy creeping on someone underage? For some reason we delve into it?
Did you all know these songs were based on the ten commandments? who knew? We're back! And we're actually a Sufjan Stevens podcast (just a bad one)
On this episode of your favourite Sufjan Stevens podcast, we don't talk about Sufjan at all! Are you surprised? Instead, I sit down with the "Canadian Sufjan", our very own Jordan Klassen! We're talking Jordan's 2022 release "Glossolalia". Oh! And Jordan reveals he's a mentalist for some reason.
Wow, we're back! and this time we have an intimate conversation with Olivia Klassen! Olivia is a Library Technician in Vancouver. You can hear her vocals on Jordan's track "Niko"! She is also Jordan's Indie Wife! We got her on the pod! Olivia is a real gem, and we're so glad she joined us for our silly podcast. We joined our friend Cail and Lucas from the Album vs Album podcast to decide which Sufjan album do we like better: Illinois or Michigan? Illinois has the bangers, the classics, the songs that most people know! but Michigan has a charm that cannot be duplicated! What album will win?! You know when Steve Urkel went on Full House? This is basically the same thing. Check out more episodes of Album vs Album wherever you get podcasts! Email us at twtwpe@gmail.com
On this episode we look at Sufjan Steven's mixtape "The Greatest Gift". And we give you, the listener, a great gift because this was recorded together in Jordan's studio in Vancouver. Join us, as we join Sufjan (with Bryce Dessner, Nico Muhly and James McAlister) as our tour guide through the cosmos with their 2017 collaboration "Planetarium". We also talk about vulnerability, Sufjan's sexual experiences at a methodist summer camp, and The Water Boy.
We got to sit down with writer, producer, comedian and performer Joey Clift! Joey set out to do what Sufjan couldn't: complete the 50 states project! We talk to Joey about how this idea came to be, how he did it with the help of the internet, and if he's a fan? We also got to hear about the projects Joey is working on, specifically a new Netflix show called Spirit Rangers! Joey is hilarious. Check him out on twitter: @joeytainment As always you can email us at: twtwpe@gmail.com

We answer all the crucial questions surrounding this EP like: Do you go to Costco just for $1.50 hot dogs? Did you know Sufjan wrote a song in 2000 called "All Delighted People" and it sounds nothing like the version on this EP? Do you think "The Owl And The Tanager" is a goth ballad? (ugh) Thanks to Hans and Jarrod of Blindman Brewery and Red Hart Brewing for the free beer! As always you can reach out to us at: twtwpe@gmail.com

We reflect on Sufjan's break out hit "Illinois" with special guest Nathan Moes. Justin and Jordan think it's a great album, Nathan thinks it's a good album. It gets tense. Hark! Lift Up Your Heads! The Michigan Episode For The Weary, The Broken, The Tired! In this episode we learn that Jordan went to a Sufjan concert as a first date with his now wife (and bailed on a friend in the process) and I (Justin) make some pretty cringey observations about Sufjan's music that sounded profound in my mind but now make me feel embarrassed. But anyway, Holland really does remind me of dust particles floating in the air on a hot summer morning after sleeping in, so.... But, wow, is this a great Sufjan record.
Jordan and Justin share their top 3 favourite Sufjan Christmas songs from his box set "Songs For Christmas". Jordan does a brilliant play on words with Christmas presents vs Christmas presence.
