Well… Twitter rolls out plans 'to protect' US midterm elections and suppress 'misleading information' Twitter has rolled out some new terms and policies ahead of the 2022 midterm elections, during which the Republican Party is expected to overtake the Democrats to earn a majority in the US House. The election is seen as a barometer of how the Biden administration and their leadership has performed since taking office, and so far, the pressure is definitely on. These changes are in addition to those made in the lead-up to the 2020 presidential election, in which Twitter's suppression and censorship of information played a key role in misinforming the public. Twitter is stepping up to bolster their terms and prevent "misinformation," that catch-all concept for anything that goes against the Democrat-driven narrative. As such, they've announced "steps we're taking ahead of the US midterms to protect civic conversation on Twitter." As they've done in international elections, Twitter is now "activating enforcement" of their "Civic Integrity Policy for the 2022 US midterms." Twitter states that their Civic Integrity Policy "covers the most common types of harmful misleading information about elections and civic events," which include: false claims about how and where to vote, voter intimidation, and "misleading claims intended to undermine public confidence in an election," which includes "false information about the outcome of the election." When Twitter mods encounter information they believe comes under the "harmful misleading information" category, they will "not recommend or amplify this content," and will provide a "prompt prior to liking or sharing labeled tweets, and in cases where there is potential for harm associated with the false or misleading claim, the Tweet may not be liked or shared to precent the spread of the misleading information." In the lead up to the presidential election in 2020, Twitter suppressed and censored reporting by the New York Post that tied then candidate Joe Biden to his son Hunter's overseas business dealings, with insinuations and allegations of influence peddling. Twitter believed reports coming out of the Biden campaign, and other sources, that claimed the information had been obtained through hacking, a disallowable practice, or was "Russian disinformation." This suppression had an impact on the US presidential election, potentially skewing results in Biden's favor, as polls later indicated. https://thepostmillennial.com/breaking-merrick-garland-confirms-he-personally-approved-mar-a-lago-raid-refuses-to-take-questions?utm_campaign=64487 Merrick Garland confirms he personally approved Mar-a-Lago raid, refuses to take questions In a Thursday press briefing, United States Attorney General Merrick Garland confirmed that he "personally approved" of the FBI raid at former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence, and announced that the Justice Department has filed a motion to unseal the search warrant. Garland told the public that "I personally approved the decision to seek a search warrant in this matter," noting that the Justice Department "does not take such a decision lightly." https://rumble.com/v1fng2x-ag-merrick-garland-delivers-a-statement-about-the-fbi-raiding-trump.html - Play Video Garland has about as much spine as a jellyfish… and can I just ask, where were the FBI raids when Hillary Clinton deleted over 30,000 emails, and literally got an ambassador and numerous contractors killed in Benghazi… Where has the FBI been when all of the names and allegations came out about Jeffrey Epstein? Oh by the way, Bill Clinton was on that list… How about the Biden family? How about Hunter Biden’s lap top? How about him spending money on hookers? and their shady business dealings with China? Ladies and gentleman, we need to be praying that our Lord would continue to shine a light in the darkness of our wicked government, and tear down the high places. And before we move onto the next story, make sure you educate your kids away from our government schools… one way to do that would be Classical Conversations! Classical Conversations Classical Conversations supports homeschooling parents by cultivating the love of learning through a Christian worldview in fellowship with other families. We provide a classical Christ-centered curriculum, local like-minded communities across the United States and in several countries, and we train parents who are striving to be great classical educators in the home. Again that’s ClassicalConversations.com. https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2022/08/11/1116991600/with-new-guidance-cdc-ends-test-to-stay-for-schools-and-relaxes-covid-rules With new guidance, CDC ends test-to-stay for schools and relaxes COVID rules With the coronavirus continuing to spread widely throughout the country, Americans are getting new advice from federal health officials on how to live with the virus. The revised guidance – released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Thursday – lifts the requirement to quarantine if exposed to the virus, deemphasizes screening people with no symptoms and updates COVID-19 protocols in schools, eliminating a recommendation for test-to-stay after potential exposure. "This guidance acknowledges that the pandemic is not over, but also helps us move to a point where COVID-19 no longer severely disrupts our daily lives," the CDC's Greta Massetti said in a statement. "We know that COVID 19 is here to stay," she added in comments during a briefing with reporters. The update isn't necessarily a huge overhaul of the existing guidance, but it does represent an increasing focus on individuals making their own decisions about their level of risk and how they want to mitigate that risk, said Dr. Marcus Plescia, chief medical officer for the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials. "That is consistent with where we are in the pandemic right now," he said. "I don't really think there are many state or local jurisdictions that are feeling they're going to need to start making mandates." It also brings the recommendations for unvaccinated people in line with people who are fully vaccinated – an acknowledgment of the high levels of population immunity in the U.S., due to vaccination, past COVID-19 infections or both. "Based on the latest ... data, it's around 95% of the population," Massetti said, "And so it really makes the most sense to not differentiate," since many people have some protection against severe disease. The changes could have some of the biggest impact in K-12 schools. The guidance eliminates the strategy known as "test-to-stay" – a schedule of testing for people that were exposed to the coronavirus but not up to date with their vaccinations – that allowed them to continue in-person learning, so long as they continued to test negative and showed no symptoms. The test-to-stay protocol has been an alternative to quarantine for school, so now "the practice of handling exposures would involve masking rather than a quarantine," Massetti said. You have no idea how frustrating that last article was to read ladies and gentleman. Now before we go… it’s time for my favorite topic… sports! I had an email sent into me by a Daily News Brief listener named Jeremiah Leidenfrost, titled Joe DiMaggio. The email reads: Hey Garrison, I found this newspaper in a house remodel from 1937 talking about Joe DiMaggio. The newspapers were stapled to the inside of the siding as insulation. I thought I would show you this since you like sports. Enjoy, Jeremiah Leidenfrost Now on the news paper, it reads: Joe DiMaggio, the sensational sophmore outfielder of the world champion New York Yankees, today came to terms for the 1937 season. Col. Jacob Ruppert, owner of the club announced that DiMaggio, had accepted the club’s offer, understood to call for a salary of $15,000, and an increase of pay of $6,500 over last tear’s pay to the youthful slugger. For those who don’t know about Joe DiMaggio, nicknamed "Joltin' Joe", "The Yankee Clipper" and "Joe D.", was an American baseball center fielder who played his entire 13-year career in Major League Baseball for the New York Yankees. Born to Italian Sicilian immigrants in California, he is widely considered one of the greatest baseball players of all time, and had a 56-game hitting streak (May 15 – July 16, 1941), a record that still stands. Off the field, Gabe told me he was also known for his marriage to Marilyn Monroe! It didn’t go well… The union was troubled from the start by DiMaggio's jealousy and controlling attitude; he was also physically abusive. A violent fight between the couple occurred immediately after the skirt-blowing scene in The Seven Year Itch that was filmed on September 14, 1954, in front of Manhattan's Trans-Lux 52nd Street Theater. Then 20th Century Fox's East Coast correspondent Bill Kobrin told the Palm Springs Desert Sun that it was director Billy Wilder's idea to turn the shoot into a media circus. The couple then had a "yelling battle" in the theater lobby.[49] After returning from New York City to Hollywood in October 1954, Monroe filed for divorce from DiMaggio after only nine months of marriage. Anyways the more ya know! Find yourselves a good man or woman to stand by you, and stand on God’s promises, otherwise, you’ll end up like them! In the late 90s there wasn't a movie made that didn't star Adam Sandler...or at least that's what it felt like. Lost in the shuffle of such memorable characters like Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore or The Waterboy is 1999's "Big Daddy". A story of a slacker too old to be slacking who adopts a child in an attempt to seem more grown up. While not the best Sandler has done the movie had heart and a few great cameos by Steve Buscemi and Rob Schneider.

Alright, back to China… they’re not happy with Nancy Pelosi… who is though? https://www.foxnews.com/world/china-furious-pelosi-lands-taiwan-promises-all-necessary-measures-defend-itself China furious after Pelosi lands in Taiwan, promises 'all necessary measures' to defend itself The People's Republic of China released a lengthy statement Tuesday condemning the arrival of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to the island of Taiwan. China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs published the statement, in which the Chinese government accuses Pelosi, D-Calif., of undermining U.S.-China relations and encouraging the "separatist forces for ‘Taiwan independence.’" Pelosi landed in Taiwan late Tuesday night local time, making her the highest-ranking U.S. official to visit the island since Newt Gingrich in 1997. "This is a serious violation of the one-China principle and the provisions of the three China-U.S. joint communiqués. It has a severe impact on the political foundation of China-U.S. relations, and seriously infringes upon China's sovereignty and territorial integrity," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs wrote. "There is but one China in the world, Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's territory, and the Government of the People's Republic of China is the sole legal government representing the whole of China." The People's Republic of China has long claimed sovereignty over Taiwan and the Taiwan Strait, the relatively narrow strip of ocean between the island of Taiwan and the Chinese mainland. The Chinese military has frequently sent planes into the area, testing Taiwan's air defense zone. The USS Ronald Reagan and a strike group are currently positioned near Taiwan after they left a port in Singapore on Tuesday. A Navy spokesperson confirmed the news but said it was a planned trip. Pelosi is traveling with a House delegation that includes Democratic Reps. Gregory Meeks of New York, Mark Takano of California, Suzan DelBene of Washington, Raja Krishnamoorthi of Illinois and Andy Kim of New Jersey. Here’s more from Fox News on this developing situation: China issues new threats after Pelosi lands in Taiwan-Play 0:52-2:30 The world awaits… it’s going to be interesting to see what our Lord has in store through this situation developing in Taiwan… Let’s shift our eyes back to the U.S. as Idaho is in the news… https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/justice/doj-sues-idaho-over-state-law-near-total-abortion-ban DOJ sues Idaho over law imposing 'near-total ban' on abortion The Justice Department filed a lawsuit against Idaho over the state's law banning abortion after six weeks, Attorney General Merrick Garland announced Tuesday. The legal filing marks the first time President Joe Biden's Justice Department launched a challenge against a state for abortion restrictions since the landmark June 24 Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization decision overturned a half-century of abortion access precedent, which the president decried as a "realization of an extreme ideology and a tragic error by the Supreme Court." The suit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Idaho, contends that the federal Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act preempts the state law. The federal law requires physicians to perform medically stabilizing abortions in an emergency. Garland explained there are circumstances in which abortion is "necessary" if a patient is undergoing an unstable condition during pregnancy. Associate Attorney General Vanita Gupta, who leads the reproductive rights task force, said the DOJ is seeking a declaratory judgment that Idaho's law "violates the supremacy clause of the United States Constitution and is preempted by federal law where it conflicts with EMTALA." The federal agency's lawsuit noted that the state has "passed a near-absolute ban on abortion,” which after taking effect on Aug. 25 will make it a criminal offense to perform an abortion “in all but extremely narrow circumstances.” Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra also released a statement following the DOJ's announcement, saying the department will continue to partner with the DOJ to enforce federal laws protecting healthcare "including abortions." Meanwhile, the Idaho Supreme Court is slated to hear arguments Wednesday on challenges over its near-total abortion ban, according to the Idaho Press. Attorneys for Idaho will seek to protect three separate restrictive abortion laws passed by the state. Ladies and gentleman, please keep our state in your prayers as a legal battle takes center stage. We wish to see this abomination of abortion brought down in Idaho, and this would be a huge step. https://www.cnn.com/2022/08/01/health/california-newsom-state-of-emergency-monkeypox/index.html Elsewhere in the US, California and Illinois declare states of emergency over monkeypox outbreak This is from CNN. The governors of California and Illinois declared states of emergency to bolster their monkeypox vaccination efforts as the virus spreads nationwide. Monday's declarations come as more than 5,800 probable or confirmed cases of monkeypox have been reported in the US. California had more than 800 cases Tuesday, while Illinois had more than 500, according to data from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. While the World Health Organization has declared the monkeypox outbreak a public health emergency of international concern, the Biden administration has not issued a nationwide public health emergency declaration. California is the third and largest state to issue a statewide declaration related to the disease. New York was the first to do so. California's move allows emergency medical services personnel throughout the state to administer FDA-approved monkeypox vaccines, expanding the pool of people able to inoculate residents against the virus even as a vaccine shortage persists. Illinois' declaration also will make more resources available to combat the virus, Gov. J.B. Pritzker said. The Chicago and state public health departments announced Illinois' first presumptive case June 2. Monkeypox is a poxvirus, related to smallpox, that usually causes pimple- or blister-like lesions, as well as flu-like symptoms such as fever, headaches, muscle aches, chills and respiratory symptoms, according to the CDC. And guys, great news, I found out a great way to avoid Monkey Pox, here it is… don’t be gay! Be heterosexual, and find a godly man or woman to marry, and you’re home free! Yes I realize it’s probably not that simple. But anyways… California has received more than 61,000 vaccine doses so far and distributed more than 25,000, according to the governor's news release. Los Angeles County has received its own vaccine allocation, and state officials said California will make additional allocations in the coming weeks. Last week, Sodom… oh wait I mean, San Francisco became the first major US city to declare a local health emergency on monkeypox. Now hidden towards the bottom of CNN’s article is this following paragraph: “A large number of cases in this outbreak have been in men who have sex with men, including gay and bisexual men, and public health officials are focusing their prevention efforts on this group. The virus is not unique to this community, but the nature of its close-contact spread has led to a disproportionate impact.” Following the emergency declaration in California, Equality California, a major LGBT rights nonprofit organization, applauded the governor's move, noting in a statement that the virus "continues to disproportionately affect gay, bisexual and queer men here in California and across the country." Hey speaking of gays, are you being discriminated against at your work place because you hold to the Bible? Then you need to talk to my friends at RedBalloon.work. Dr. Phillip Magness, the research and education director at the American Institute for Economic Research, shared a screenshot of a recent post from July 24 that Facebook fact-checked. “Independent fact-checkers reviewed the photo and said it was partly false,” the fact-check read. “Facebook added a notice to the post.” Magness called the fact-check “Orwellian.” “We live in an Orwellian hell-scape,” Magness posted. “Facebook is now ‘fact-checking’ anyone who questions the White House’s word-games about the definition of a recession.” Magness furthered his assertion in a recent Wall Street Journal (WSJ) op-ed that the U.S. is, in fact, in a recession, and that the Biden administration is trying to cover it up by “playing word games.” Newly released data shows the real GDP decreased at an annual rate of 0.9% in the second quarter of 2022, marking the second consecutive quarter of negative GDP growth. While the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) uses several factors to determine whether the U.S. is in a recession, economist Julius Shiskin wrote in 1974 that two consecutive quarters of declining GDP is a good rule of thumb to define a recession, with that definition becoming somewhat of a standard. The White House has gone out of its way to deny that the economy is in a recession, with President Joe Biden declaring Thursday the state of the economy “doesn’t sound like a recession.” The White House also posted a blog that said the NBER indicated there is a “strong growth in the U.S. economy” and therefore the current state of things does not indicate a recession. Things have become so confusing that Wikipedia had to place a pause on editing the term “recession” after the definition was altered 41 times within roughly one week. Users repeatedly deleted the technical definition that described a recession as having two consecutive quarters of negative GDP growth. So, you guys know me… I love to end my segments with my favorite topic, sports! Well today I’m not going to talk about sports, I’m going to talk about NASCAR. Oh zinger! Now I know… I know… your body goes through a lot of stress in NASCAR, I get it… let’s just get into the story… Ty Dillon After Getting Run Over By Kyle Larson: “Luckily The Good Lord Was Keeping An Eye Out For Me, Keeping Me Safe” Ty Dillon thanked God for keeping him safe after Kyle Larson slammed into during the events of the NASCAR Cup Series race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Larson ran over Dillon going around 170 mph coming into the sharp right hand turn 1. As Larson attempted to make the corner with Dillon on his outside, he launched over the curb into Dillon’s door. Kyle Larson has issue, slams into Ty Dillon at Indy- Play 1:35-2:26 Well Thank God both drivers were okay. Redballoon Not so long ago, the American dream was alive and well. 07/31/2022 Intro Good evening America, welcome to Waterbreak. It is no secret to this audience that COVID tyranny was a crime scene that should have never happened, but I don’t think we are ready to face the answers to this problem. My guest today is Davis Younts, who is continuing to fight this COVID tyranny as we speak, is joining us to talk about the coast-guard’s COVID crime scene and Comedian John Branyan has some news that you can trust, fixing all the definitions that have been changed under the Biden administration. So, grab your best scotch or Dr. Pepper and enjoy the show. Plug Bobo Construction: Stop sending your hard-earned money to companies that hate you! It’s time to build a Christian economy. Contact Austin Bobo at Abobo@Boboconstructioninc.com or visit the website at www.boboconstructioninc.com Whatever is fair and right, that’s what we do – Bobo Construction, Inc. Canon Ball or Belly Flop We are now two years out from 2020, and the lingering tyranny is not going away. This is not a logical tyranny, but is tyranny ever logical? They are forcing vaccination to stop transmission, but that vaccine does not stop…transmission. This is what you can expect from a President who thinks a man can be a woman, and appoints Mitch McConnel as a woman to be the Assistant Health Secretary. (SLIDE) The democrats are trying to spin the COVID pandemic into a Climate pandemic, feeding their lust for power and squeezing all they can out of our fears, complacency, and ignorance. Some people followed the government out of fear, some out of complacency, others out of ignorance, but no matter what happened, we should have never let this happen to America. America was built on men who resisted tyranny. America was built by families fleeing religious persecution, America was built through grit and great difficulty. Our government did not build America. This is why the founders recognized that the government derives its “just powers from the consent of the governed”. The government comes from the people, the government did not build America, people built America and created a government out of that foundation. The second crime scene is always worse than the first, and what people don’t realize is that COVID was the second or third crime scene. First crime scene was abdication, which included parents putting their kids in public schools, the second crime scene was not speaking up, and now you have been successfully conditioned for the third crime scene-the COVID crime scene. Right now our military really is a battleground for the taking of our freedoms. Don’t pretend that the force vaccination policies in the military wont ever effect you. They are just an easy control group for their tyranny. But the military long ago should have been asking “What was the first crime scene and why did we not throw-down at that first crime scene?” What was the first crime scene? Women in the military? Blind submission to our industrial military complex? The massive military spending bills that get passed every couple of years? These are important questions to ask if we are ever going to take back our liberties in the military. Those are questions we will have to get to at another time, because right now we have a lot of Chrisitans in the military who are in the fight for their lives. Several dozen coast-guard helicopter rescue swimmers have had their religious exemptions from taking the vaccine denied, and now the coast-guard does not even want to hear their case…no due process! That is egregious. These military members are really being wronged, and my guest today is their lawyer Interview Davis Younts, https://standwithwarriors.org/, welcome to the show David. You have been on the show before, and it seems like despite all the injunctions, why is the coast guard, who’s top Commander is Admiral Linda L. Fagan btw, why are they continuing to go after the unvaxxed despite injunctions with other military branches? What do you mean the coast guard is denying “due process”? I think you average citizen thinks this wont affect them, why is this legal fight so important to the average citizen? However, the Chicago Bears stated in a press release earlier this month that they wouldn’t consider any other offers, even for their home stadium, Soldier Field. The NFL team reaffirmed that sentiment to ESPN this week, noting that they were set on moving to another location over 30 miles away. “As part of our mutual agreement with the seller of that property, we are not pursuing alternative stadium deals or sites, including renovations to Soldier Field, while we are under contract,” stated the team. The Bears plan to move to Arlington Park, the longtime site of Churchill Downs’ thoroughbred racing in Arlington Heights. That area experiences well below the national median of crime levels, according to multiple crime statistic analyses. Census data reports that the area has a median household income of over $100,200, and just over four percent of residents were in poverty. Comparatively, the city of Chicago suffers from high crime rates characterized by record numbers of shootings. Census data revealed that the city had a median household income of nearly $62,100, and over 17 percent of residents were in poverty. Along with the Bears’ definitive statement, Lightfoot revealed to AP News that the team refused to meet with her. Even so, Lightfoot hasn’t slowed on her attempts to further negotiations. Lightfoot explained in Monday’s press release that the $900 million to $2.2 billion would cover three different renovation options that could result in either a fully-enclosed stadium, a dome stadium, or a multi-purpose stadium suitable for soccer games and concerts. Lightfoot noted that the first two options were proposed with the Bears in mind. She asserted that the Bears would save an estimated $1 to $1.5 billion in costs if they remained with Soldier Field rather than moving on to Arlington Park. The mayor also launched a website, “Re-Imagine Soldier Field,” as part of her last-ditch effort to win back the Bears. The site offers downloadable digital renderings of desired renovations. 07/24/2022 Intro Good evening America and Canada, welcome to Waterbreak. For those who are in crazy blue COVID states or Canada, the question I want to ask you this evening is “Are you a refugee or reinforcement?” My guest today is Pastor Dave Hatcher and most of the Waterbreak team is lined up and ready to deliver. So, grab your best scotch or Dr. Pepper and enjoy the show. Plug: New Saint Andrews: Today’s culture shifts like sand. But New Saint Andrews College is established on Christ, the immovable rock. It is a premier institution that forges evangelical leaders who don’t fear or hate the world. Guided by God’s Word, they take the world back because they’re equipped with the genius of classical liberal arts and God-honoring wisdom, thanks to a faculty dedicated to academic rigor and to God’s kingdom.Find out more, at nsa.edu/ Canon Ball/Belly Flop Reinforcements or Refugees For those who are awake, understand that we are living in politically tumultuous times. This is particularly the case if you are living in coastal leftist states and Canada. San Diego School district has already declared students will be required to masks when school starts up a again, or they can choose Zoom school instead, DC will be requiring all students 12 and up to get the vaccine in order to attend in person classes, and Canada is resuming random COVID testing for air travelers….sort of like random TSA checks. Can you say theater COVID measures? As a side note, my friend Andrew DeBartolo, as he was flying back from the US into Canada, no one was required to wear masks until they started their descent into Toronto. So, for an hour and a half flight no one is wearing a mask and the Canadian government thinks they are fighting COVID by requiring people to wear masks the last 20min of the flight? Tyranny is not reasonable, which is why you resist it when it is in its infancy. Before we go any further, it has to be said that our countries, US and Canada, are in this position because fathers have abdicated their responsibilities, and the church has abdicated her responsibilities in various ways. We need to learn from this, that in God’s world, if we do not follow His designed order, and in this case we are talking about how he has ordered the church, family, and civil governments, than the imbalance created by the abdication will give room to one of the other governments taking over that abdicated space. The civil government has done this very thing, as both the church and family governments have abdicated their responsibilities. Now, if we want the government to shrink, the church and families need to repent right here, in this very spot. So, here we are. We have very difficult states like California and Washington, and in Canada the most conservative province was the province that was arresting pastors, and of course Ontario is just plain crazy. One of the things I am grateful for in all this, is that God in His kindness has brought together a lot of like minded pastors, churches, and families who understand the moment that we are in, and are trying to figure out what is the best way forward. The other thing that this COVID moment has revealed, is that a lot of Christians have put themselves in vulnerable situations and have realized that they need to make some big changes in their lives. These vulnerable situations include attending a church that has soft leadership, realizing your kids in public schools is not a good idea, not having a solide local community, fathers realizing that they have not led their family well, and so forth. This has caused a lot of social, economic, ecclesiatical and geographical movement in these last two years. A lot of people switched churches, moved to a different city, state or country, changed jobs, and more all because of the COVID shakeup. Now if you are in one of this commie government situations, there are two categories I want you to consider. Are you a reinforcement in your land or do you need to seek refugee status in a new community? Are you in a situation where you have a good church, a good community, a good “post” to fight from? Or are you in a position of weakness, with no church, no solid classical Christian school, or like-minded community? If You have a good post to fight from, don’t leave, don’t abandon that post. Stay and fight, be an encouragement to your pastor, run for city council, figure out ways to push back. My guest this evening is Pastor Dave Hatcher Dave attended Washington State University where he graduated with a BA in Business Administration. He also has three years post-graduate work at Greyfriars Hall in Moscow, ID, in their pastoral training program. Dave is the Pastor of Trinity Church. Dave and his wife, Kim, have six children; five of whom are Providence graduates. Welcome to the show Pastor Dave. You are a pastor in one of those difficult states, the state of Washington, how has your church been thinking about these last two years, and what it looks like moving forward? How do you counsel a family that is processing should “I stay or move out of Washington”? Poli, the film was produced by Poli, Jose Luis Martinez, and Owen Miller. Unexpected news brings a new opportunity. He leaves his life behind and sets off to find purpose and forgiveness. But Marcus will have to face the consequences of his past and overcome the greatest obstacle of all: Himself."We are ecstatic to be teaming up with Gravitas Ventures, a distributor that has been around for so long with such a large library of films. Their enthusiasm and eagerness to help push the film's important message gives us confidence that it will impact the right audience," said J.R. Poli."We at Gravitas are happy to present the redemptive story of Marcus. Owen Miller, Katana Malone, and Paul Wight deliver their characters' voices with a depth and authenticity we believe will resonate with audiences in theaters and on VOD this summer," said Bill Guentzler, Gravitas Ventures Senior Director of Acquisitions.PAUL WIGHT PROVIDES DETAILS BEHIND UPCOMING DRAMATIC ROLE IN MARCUS (FROM WRESTLING INC . COM)Paul Wight, formerly known as The Big Show while in WWE, will star in an upcoming movie "Marcus," written and directed by J.R. Poli. In an exclusive interview with Wrestling Inc., the former six-time World Champion discussed the film and his role, which is somewhat different than the more comedic parts he's played in previous movies."Originally, being part of this project was really just to help produce it and get this project going," Wight said. "Then there was an opportunity for a role in the picture, and I read the script and I was like, 'Yeah, I'd like to try Gus.' Because it is a very serious role, but Gus is a very important component to 'Marcus,' because Gus is actually one of the interactions that Marcus has with someone that's really trying to understand Marcus in his own way and trying to be supportive, but really doesn't understand how to know Marcus. Yes, it's a security guard role, but at the same time there's a lot more depth to the character and to the plot line of the story.""In acting, I want to try to push myself and push my boundaries and try to find things that are not what you would typically see me doing," Wight continued. "Sometimes it's hard to find those roles."Professional wrestling has seen multiple wrestlers transition from wrestling to Hollywood, with the most famous examples being The Rock, John Cena, and Batista. Wight is a somewhat understated name in that company - he's been in quite a few movies prior to this one, though typically in less central roles, from "The Waterboy" to "Fighting with my Family.""Marcus" also stars Owen Miller, Katana Malone, and Toddy Bruno.MARCUS is now available in theaters, VOD and digital

Amazon Sues Administrators of More Than 10,000 Facebook Groups Over Fake Reviews https://www.wsj.com/articles/amazon-sues-facebook-group-administrators-over-fake-reviews-11658222818 Amazon.com AMZN 3.91%▲ Inc. said it filed a lawsuit against the administrators of what it says are more than 10,000 Facebook groups used to coordinate fake reviews of Amazon products. Those in charge of the Facebook groups solicit the reviews for items ranging from camera tripods to car stereos in exchange for free products or money, Amazon said in a statement. The activity, which is against Amazon’s rules, occurs across Amazon’s stores in the U.S., U.K., Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Japan, the company said. Such bogus reviews are typically used to boost products’ ratings and increase the likelihood customers buy them. The lawsuit represents “proactive legal action targeting bad actors,” Amazon Vice President Dharmesh Mehta said in the statement. Amazon has for years been dogged by inauthentic reviews. During the pandemic, consumers have flocked to e-commerce platforms, and with that has come growing review manipulation and customer frustration. The U.K.’s antitrust regulator last year launched an investigation into whether Amazon and Alphabet Inc. unit Google are doing enough to eliminate fake reviews. One of the Facebook groups, called “Amazon Product Review,” had more than 43,000 members. Facebook removed the group this year, Amazon said, adding that it evaded Facebook’s detection by changing letters in phrases that might set off Facebook’s alarms. Amazon didn’t disclose the names of the Facebook group administrators or their locations. The Seattle-based company said it filed the suit in Washington state’s King County Superior Court. “Groups that solicit or encourage fake reviews violate our policies and are removed,” said a spokeswoman for Facebook’s parent company, Meta Platforms Inc. That was up $502,438,730,000—or 15.07 percent—from the then-record $3,332,951,270,000 (in constant June 2022 dollars) that the federal government collected in taxes in the first nine months of fiscal 2021. The record $3,835,390,000,000 in total taxes that the federal government collected in the first nine months of this fiscal year included $2,135,472,000,000 in individual income taxes; $1,125,464,000,000 in social insurance and retirement receipts; $61,035,000,000 in excise taxes; $24,032,000,000 in estate and gift taxes; $74,181,000,000 in customs duties; and $109,154,000,000 in what the Treasury calls “miscellaneous receipts.” At the same time that it was collecting this record $3,835,390,000,000 in total taxes, the federal government spent $4,350,457,000,000. Thus, the federal government ran a deficit of $515,067,000,000 in the first nine months of the fiscal year. The Department of Health and Human Services spent the most money of any federal agency during the first nine months of the fiscal year, expending $1,191,470,000,000. The Social Security Administration spent the second most: $952,222,000,000. The Department of the Treasury spent the third most: $944,194,000,000. Now he’s got a real shot at winning. https://www.politico.com/news/2022/07/19/mastriano-pennsylvania-governor-race-00046423 Jackie Kulback was just one of the Pennsylvania GOP leaders who was worried in May when Doug Mastriano clinched the Republican primary for governor. Mastriano was a MAGA state senator who worked to overturn the 2020 presidential election and Kulback thought he would struggle to win the critical battleground state in the fall. But she’s feeling differently these days. “The higher the gas prices go, the more electable Mastriano is,” said the chair of the Cambria County Republican Party. “Honestly, I feel this is Mastriano’s campaign to lose.” In the immediate aftermath of Pennsylvania’s messy gubernatorial primary — which included an ill-fated, last-minute attempt by the GOP establishment to stop Mastriano — many Democrats and Republicans in Pennsylvania thought the race was all but over. Attorney General Josh Shapiro, the Democratic nominee, is a first-class fundraiser with a record of winning tough statewide races. He emerged unscathed from the Democratic primary after clearing the field. Mastriano, on the other hand, has a shoestring campaign, regularly antagonizes members of his own party, and is known for his far-right views on hot-button issues. He chartered buses to the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, where he appears to have been part of a crowd that crossed barricades. He believes in no exceptions for an abortion ban. He has said that the state legislature has the power to appoint presidential electors, and as governor, he would have the power to “decertify” election machines. When Mastriano pulled out a win in the primary, many national Republicans kept their distance and, privately, assumed Shapiro would waltz to the governor’s mansion. But as the political environment has worsened for Democrats across the country, the gubernatorial race in Pennsylvania has begun to look more competitive than either party expected. Polls show Mastriano behind Shapiro by only three to four percentage points, which is within the margin of error. Though many still have doubts about Mastriano’s ability to run a successful campaign, that has made Pennsylvania Republicans more optimistic — and served as a wake-up call for Democrats, particularly in the wake of Roe v. Wade being overturned. “I have the feeling that the race is too close, and that there is this very vocal group that Mastriano has behind him, and that Shapiro has got a lot of work to do,” said Pat Moulton, a retired nurse who attended a meet-and-greet with Shapiro in northeastern Pennsylvania last week. “As a Democrat, it’s frighteningly close.” Biden Energy Advisor Makes Revealing Comments While Discussing Gas Prices on CNN https://townhall.com/tipsheet/katiepavlich/2022/07/19/pain-is-the-point-white-house-vows-to-accelerate-devastating-energy-transition-n2610453 President Joe Biden's Special Coordinator for International Energy Affairs Amos Hochstein made an appearance on CNN Tuesday morning as gas prices continue to bust the budgets of American families. During his remarks, Hochstein said the White House does not want oil and gas companies embarking on new projects and that they are working to accelerate the current, extremely painful and unaffordable transition to alternative energy. "It's about making a choice between what is the short term and the medium term so we can make sure we have enough oil and gas to support us through the transition and what are the kind of steps we don't want the oil and gas industry to take that would have longterm consequences when we don't want new major projects that would take 20-30 years that would become profitable," Hochstein said. "So we have to make that differentiation to make sure the American consumer has what it needs to grow, grow our economy and the global economy, but not take steps and endanger the climate work that we're trying to do to make sure that we're on a better footing to accelerate the transition." The total already eclipses the 389,000 got-aways from FY2021. The source says the number, recorded daily, is based on evidence collected by a range of technology systems and aerial drones that capture images. The metric is usually not released by CBP. Historically, the Border Patrol has relied upon traditional sign-cutting techniques to locate and count footprints and other physical evidence left behind at popular migrant crossings. The latter metric has been all but removed from the equation because manpower is redirected to daily migrant care. The average migrant got-away count, recorded since the fiscal year began in October, remains at roughly 1,700 per day. According to the source, more than 7,000 migrants are arrested by the agency on most days. In some areas, large migrant groups are taxing Border Patrol resources and contributing to the increase in got-aways. As reported by Breitbart Texas, in one Texas border town, 1,772 migrants were apprehended in one day. In April, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas testified to members of the House Judiciary Committee that there were more than 389,000 got-aways in FY 2021. At the current pace, the total projected number of got-aways will nearly double last year’s count, according to the source. The source says the situation along the southern border will likely worsen. After a recent Supreme Court ruling, DHS will soon end the Trump era Migrant Protection Protocol program also known as Remain in Mexico. DHS Secretary Mayorkas expressed his approval over the ruling that allows the agency to stop returning migrants to Mexico to await asylum processing.” 23 Million California Residents to Receive up to $1,050 in Inflation Relief Funds https://finance.yahoo.com/news/23-million-california-residents-receive-155218841.html According to Yahoo: “On June 30, California approved an inflation relief package — one which will see 23 million residents of the state receive a direct payment of up to $1,050. The $17 billion inflation relief package includes $9.5 billion for tax refunds to help address inflation and offset rising prices. Governor Gavin newsom and Senate President pro Tempore Toni G. Atkins and Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon said in a joint statement” “California’s budget addresses the state’s most pressing needs, and prioritizes getting dollars back into the pockets of millions of Californians who are grappling with global inflation and rising prices of everything from gas to groceries,” “The centerpiece of the agreement, a $17 billion inflation relief package, will offer tax refunds to millions of working Californians. Twenty-three million Californians will benefit from direct payments of up to $1,050. The package will also include a suspension of the state sales tax on diesel, and additional funds to help people pay their rent and utility bills,” they added. The amount of the California inflation relief payments varies depending on the income and dependents in the household, and eligibility is divided into three categories. Payments are expected to be going out to individuals by the end of Oct. 2022 and conclude by the middle of Jan. 2023, according to California’s Franchise Tax Board. Couples filing jointly with an income of $150,000 or less can receive $1,050 with a dependent, and $700 without a dependent. Couples with an income of $150,001 to $250,000 will receive $750 with a dependent and $500 without a dependent. Couples filing jointly with an income of $250,001 to $500,000 are slated to receive $600 with a dependent and $400 without one. For heads of households making $150,000 or less, they qualify for $700 with a dependent and $350 without. Those with an income of $150,001 to $250,000 qualify for $500 with a dependent and $250 without. As for those with an income of $250,001 to $500,000, they qualify for $400 with a dependent, and $200 without.” CPI projections, which are low, project that the average household will experience an increase in about $5K of inflated expenses as a result of inflation…but I think it will be more like $15 to $20K. New York Effectively Nullifies The Supreme Court’s Latest Pro-Second Amendment Decision https://thefederalist.com/2022/07/05/new-york-effectively-nullifies-the-supreme-courts-latest-pro-second-amendment-decision/ According to the Federalist: “New York Gov. Kathy Hochul ushered in the long Independence Day weekend by signing legislation crafted in response to Supreme Court’s recent decision. he U.S. Supreme Court has made clear that the Second Amendment guarantees law-abiding citizens the right to keep and bear arms for self-defense, both in their homes and in public. On Friday, New York responded that it didn’t care. New York Gov. Kathy Hochul ushered in the long Independence Day weekend on Friday by signing into law legislation crafted in response to the Supreme Court’s recent decision in New York State Rifle and Pistol Association, Inc. v. Bruen. Just more than a week earlier, the U.S. Supreme Court in Bruen had declared that New York’s prior “may issue” gun licensing scheme, which prohibited individuals from carrying concealed handguns unless they “demonstrate[d] a special need for self-protection distinguishable from that of the general community,” violated the Second Amendment. In reaching that conclusion, the high court stressed that the right to “bear arms,” by necessity, applies outside the home. The New York legislature responded by calling an extraordinary session and then passing the bill Hochul signed into law on Friday. That hastily passed statute established detailed regulations governing a citizen’s right to obtain a permit to carry a concealed weapon and added restrictive limits to where such concealed weapons could be carried. Both aspects of the New York legislation run headlong into the Supreme Court’s analysis in Bruen—and potentially First Amendment jurisprudence. … The larger constitutional problem with New York’s revised conceal-carry law concerns the state’s attempt to, in essence, declare most public spaces “sensitive locations” in which guns cannot be carried even by permitted individuals. Specifically, the statute makes it a felony to carry firearms “in or upon a sensitive location,” then provides an exhaustive list of sensitive locations which, because of its constitutional significance, is excerpted in full below: (a) any place owned or under the control of federal, state or local government, for the purpose of government administration, including courts; (b) any location providing health, behavioral health, or chemical dependance care or services; (c) any place of worship or religious observation; (d) libraries, public playgrounds, public parks, and zoos; (e) the location of any program licensed, regulated, certified, funded, or approved by the office of children and family services that provides services to children, youth, or young adults, any legally exempt childcare provider; a childcare program for which a permit to operate such program has been issued by the department of health and mental hygiene pursuant to the health code of the city of New York; (f) nursery schools, preschools, and summer camps; (g) the location of any program licensed, regulated, certified, operated, or funded by the office for people with developmental disabilities; (h) the location of any program licensed, regulated, certified, operated, or funded by office of addiction services and supports; (i) the location of any program licensed, regulated, certified, operated, or funded by the office of mental health; (j) the location of any program licensed, regulated, certified, operated, or funded by the office of temporary and disability assistance; (k) homeless shelters, runaway homeless youth shelters, family shelters, shelters for adults, domestic violence shelters, and emergency shelters, and residential programs for victims of domestic violence; (l) residential settings licensed, certified, regulated, funded, or operated by the department of health; (m) in or upon any building or grounds, owned or leased, of any educational institutions, colleges and universities, licensed private career schools, school districts, public schools, private schools licensed under article one hundred one of the education law, charter schools, non-public schools, board of cooperative educational services, special act schools, preschool special education programs, private residential or non-residential schools for the education of students with disabilities, and any state-operated or state-supported schools; (n) any place, conveyance, or vehicle used for public transportation or public transit, subway cars, train cars, buses, ferries, railroad, omnibus, marine or aviation transportation; or any facility used for or in connection with service in the transportation of passengers, airports, train stations, subway and rail stations, and bus terminals; (o) any establishment issued a license for on-premise consumption pursuant to article four, four-A, five, or six of the alcoholic beverage control law where alcohol is consumed and any establishment licensed under article four of the cannabis law for on-premise consumption; (p) any place used for the performance, art entertainment, gaming, or sporting events such as theaters, stadiums, racetracks, museums, amusement parks, performance venues, concerts, exhibits, conference centers, banquet halls, and gaming facilities and video lottery terminal facilities as licensed by the gaming commission; (q) any location being used as a polling place; (r) any public sidewalk or other public area restricted from general public access for a limited time or special event that has been issued a permit for such time or event by a governmental entity, or subject to specific, heightened law enforcement protection, or has otherwise had such access restricted by a governmental entity, provided such location is identified as such by clear and conspicuous signage; (s) any gathering of individuals to collectively express their constitutional rights to protest or assemble; (t) the area commonly known as Times Square, as such area is determined and identified by the city of New York; provided such area shall be clearly and conspicuously identified with signage. Merely skimming these provisions confirms the breadth of the new law, which leaves New York residents with few public places where they may legally carry a gun for self-defense. That bottom line strikes to the core of the Supreme Court’s ruling in Bruen that the Second Amendment guarantees a right for law-abiding, responsible citizens to carry a firearm in public for purposes of self-defense. New York’s expansive list of supposedly “sensitive locations” likewise ignores the Supreme Court’s analysis in Bruen.” Armored Republic The Mission of Armored Republic is to Honor Christ by equipping Free Men with Tools of Liberty necessary to preserve God-given rights. The Supreme Court on Thursday curtailed the EPA's ability to restrict power plant emissions under the Clean Air Act. Morrisey, who brought the suit on behalf of his coal-dependent state, celebrated the ruling on the John Solomon Reports podcast. The legal implications of the decision far transcend environmental policy alone, according to the attorney general. "We wanted to say this is really about maintaining the separation of powers, not climate change, because it was about who gets to make the major decisions of the day, not necessarily what those decisions are, but who gets to make it," said Morrisey. "And the reason that's so important, is because when you have something so fundamental, a vast economic and political significance, you want the people's representatives to make a decision, and to have clear statements, clear lines of delegation to the federal agencies," he added. "And that did not happen here. That's why the court said that it was not going to allow the Clean Power Plan or similar type of regulation to go forward." Morrisey expressed optimism that the ruling would effectively limit overreach by federal regulators and arm states with a legal basis to challenge similar initiatives in the future. "I think it helps really solidify this major questions doctrine, so that you're gonna be able to limit when the bureaucrats can reach down, seize power, and try to take some one strand of ambiguity and turn it into a major rulemaking with incredible burdens on the American people," he said. "And so I am really gratified that the court resolves it on those grounds, as opposed to just merely some technical grounds." Rush toward green energy has left US 'incredibly' vulnerable to summer blackouts, expert warns https://www.foxnews.com/us/rush-green-energy-has-left-us-incredibly-vulnerable-summer-blackouts-expert-warns Did you know renewable energy is putting the country at risk of power outages this summer? The government’s push to renewable energy and away from traditional energy sources is silly. Daniel Turner, founder and executive director at Power the Future told Fox News that he “think(s) the entire country is incredibly vulnerable, because the entire country is facing a huge energy shortage and I don’t think there is any place that is truly safe,", told Fox News. Turner went on to argue that outages will most likely affect the poor and minority neighborhoods. "They will choose what neighborhoods go into darkness," Turner said. "Historically, when we have done this, we have chosen poor and usually minority neighborhoods to do that." Previously planned power outages in states such as California have a history of disproportionately impacting poor neighborhoods, including one instance in 2019 where a poor, mostly Hispanic neighborhood in Sonoma County had its power cut for eight days in October. The deliberate outages not only plunged residents of the area into darkness for days, but the resulting food spoilage strained already tight budgets. "Even if the electricity doesn’t arrive… the bills do," one resident said at the time. "Look who they shut off. Have you ever seen a Kardashian complain about lack of power, or Silicon Valley… Facebook’s headquarters? They’re all fine… they’re never the ones plunged into darkness," Turner said. The total already eclipses the 389,000 got-aways from FY2021. Happy Hump Day y’all! This is Garrison Hardie with your CrossPolitic Daily News Brief for Wednesday, June 29th. 2022… I’m going to start the same exact way as I started yesterday, and the day before! The early bird pricing for our conference ends on June 30th, so this Thursday! Lies, Propaganda, Story Telling, and the Serrated Edge: This year our national conference is in Knoxville, TN October 6th-8th. The theme of this year’s conference is Lies, Propaganda, Storytelling and the Serrated Edge. Satan is the father of lies, and the mother of those lies is a government who has rejected God. We have especially been lied to these last two years, and the COVIDpanic has been one of the central mechanisms that our government has used to lie to us and to grab more power. Because Christians have not been reading their bibles, we are susceptible to lies and weak in our ability to fight these lies. God has given us His word to fight Satan and his lies, and we need to recover all of God’s word, its serrated edge and all. Mark your calendars for October 6th-8th, as we fight, laugh and feast with fellowship, beer and Psalms, our amazing lineup of speakers, hanging with our awesome vendors, meeting new friends, and more. Early bird tickets are available now, but will be gone before you know it! Sign up now at flfnetwork.com/knoxville2022 Louisiana and Utah trigger laws banning abortions temporarily blocked by courts https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/louisiana-trigger-law-banning-abortions-temporarily-blocked-court-rcna35528 So, yesterday on CrossPolitic, the guys discussed how Federal Lands could be used to host abortion clinics according to health & human services secratary, Xavier Beccera… That’s the same guy who believes he should be able to take your kids away if you don’t let them go through the mameing of a sex change if they want it… Judges in Louisiana and Utah on Monday temporarily blocked prohibitions on abortion in their states following last week's U.S. Supreme Court ruling that ends a national right to the procedure. The high court on Friday overturned Roe v. Wade, which for nearly 50 years had granted women the constitutional right to abortions. More than a dozen states set so-called trigger laws to take immediate effect banning or severely limiting abortions in the event Roe v. Wade was overturned. Trigger laws were also being challenged in Arizona, Idaho, Kentucky, Mississippi and Texas. A state judge in Louisiana issued a temporary restraining order Monday barring the state from enforcing its ban, leading to the immediate resumption of the procedure. Orleans Parish Civil District Judge Robin Giarrusso granted the request of plaintiffs Hope Medical Group for Women and Medical Students for Choice. Hours later, Utah Third District Judge Andrew Stone halted that state's trigger law effective immediately under a 14-day temporary restraining order requested by the Planned Parenthood Association of Utah. "There is irreparable harm that has been shown," Stone said in granting the order. "Affected women are deprived of safe, local medical treatments to terminate pregnancies." Planned Parenthood lawyer Julie Murray argued that because patients had access to abortion for five decades, halting the procedure with such short notice had reverberating impacts for Utah women. The nonprofit organization's facilities in Utah had more than 55 patients scheduled for abortion appointments this week, it said in its emergency request Saturday for a temporary restraining order. Utah Solicitor General Tyler Green argued that nothing in the state's constitution specifically protects a right to abortion and that the interest of the unborn weighs as heavily as the harm to would-be patients under prohibition. Providers in Louisiana stopped performing abortions Friday, unsure of the legality of the practice because of the vagueness of the bill, reproductive rights groups said. Attorney General Jeff Landry said Monday that his office will go to court to support the abortion ban, which he said was "enacted by the people" of Louisiana. "We are fully prepared to defend these laws in our state courts, just as we have in our federal courts," Landry said in a statement. In a statement Friday, Democratic Gov. John Bel Edwards declared that he is "unabashedly pro-life and opposed to abortion" but said he is seeking changes to Louisiana's trigger law — first put in place in 2006 — because it has no exceptions for rape and incest. "As I have said many times before, I believe women who are survivors of rape or incest should be able to determine whether to continue with a pregnancy that is the result of a criminal act," Edwards said Friday. Ladiess and gentleman, we need to be praying for our nation, because the devil and his minions are still at work. We need to keep fighting, and taking ground. We now shift our eyes to the Lone Star state, as: Austin City Council Members Propose Local Resolution to ‘Decriminalize’ Killing a Child https://texasscorecard.com/local/austin-city-council-members-propose-local-resolution-to-decriminalize-killing-a-child/ After the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade last week—allowing states to outlaw the practice of dismembering, poisoning, or using any other means to kill a baby in the womb—the Democrat-run Austin City Council wants to retaliate. Councilmembers Vanessa Fuentes and Jose “Chito” Vela have proposed the “Guarding the Right to Abortion Care for Everyone (GRACE)” Act, a resolution aiming to effectively “decriminalize” abortion in Austin. The document recommends the Austin Police Department not store reports of soon-to-be-illegal abortions, give related information to other government agencies, nor investigate the businesses exterminating the preborn children. Ironically, the resolution refuses to recognize women, instead labeling them as “pregnant people.” Texas has a coming state law (to be activated within 30 days) to ban the abortion practice statewide, and similar existing laws were already on the books before the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision. However, district attorneys across Texas and the Austin City Council are trying to find ways to avoid enforcing the upcoming ban. KJP on San Antonio horror: It's a fact that the border is closed https://hotair.com/ed-morrissey/2022/06/28/kjp-on-san-antonio-horror-its-a-fact-that-the-border-is-closed-n479296 Fact checkers, start your engines. Or at least those fact checkers who still check facts on claims made by government officials, who seem to be a dying breed these days. After the deaths of at least 46 illegal immigrants in San Antonio, Texas and the worst human-trafficking disaster in recent memory, Governor Greg Abbott blamed Joe Biden and the 17-month border crisis that is still raging in his state and others along the border. The official response from the White House is: Border crisis, you say? What border crisis? https://twitter.com/i/status/1541774525985132544 - Play all audio It is not a fact that the border is closed, and it’s not a fact that this smuggling attempt proves it. We’ll get to both in a moment, but this is one strategy of many for breaching the border, and in this case it worked. The truck got through the border, didn’t it? How did that happen? The ongoing crisis at the U.S.-Mexico international border continues to worsen. Evidence from U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) recent data release shows that Border Patrol encountered the highest number of illegal immigrants this past May compared to previous months. Agents working along the southern border encountered 239,416 illegal immigrants, a historic record. To accommodate the staggering number, CBP had to increase the Y-axis on its line graph detailing border encounters. This is the second time this has happened during Joe Biden’s presidency. Out of the over 200,000 migrants who illegally crossed the border, 100,699 of them were removed from the U.S. under Title 42. Over 177,000 people encountered by Border Patrol were first time crossers, a 15 percent jump compared to April. A couple of weeks before that, Julio noted that the recent wave has been fueled in part by Biden’s effort to end pandemic-related Title 42 enforcement at the border. A judge forced the administration to keep it in place, but word hasn’t gotten to the wave of migrants hoping to take advantage of the opening: While many have decided not to illegally cross at this time, other groups of people decided that since they have made it this far in their journey, they will make the final step and illegally enter the United States. In the late afternoon, Border Patrol was processing a large group that turned themselves in. Does that sound like the border is “closed,” and that it’s a “fact”? Or does it sound more like Biden and his team keep signaling a reluctance to enforce border security and a desire to allow people to flood across into the US? Sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell sentenced to 20 years in prison https://thepostmillennial.com/breaking-ghislaine-maxwell-sentenced-to-20-years-in-prison?utm_campaign=64487 Ghislaine Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison on Tuesday for her roll in aiding former financier and prolific sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein in abusing young girls. She faced a maximum sentence of up to 80 years. Maxwell was convicted in December of recruiting and trafficking four teenage girls for sexual abuse by her then-boyfriend Jeffrey Epstein. Epstein's life famously ended under suspicious circumstances in a New York prison after being placed on suicide watch. He never faced trial. According to the New York Post, Maxwell's lawyer, Bobby Sternheim, said Saturday that "Ghislaine Maxwell is on suicide watch — but isn’t really suicidal." Sternheim claims Maxwell was put in solitary confinement on placed on suicide watch "without justification," adding "She [Maxwell] is not suicidal." He adds that Maxwell's June 28th sentencing, where she will face the possibility of up to 55 years in prison, may need to be delayed. That’s gunna do it for this CrossPolitic Daily NewsBrief. Or at least those fact checkers who still check facts on claims made by government officials, who seem to be a dying breed these days.
