Some anecdotes from the stories behind the creation of some of my poetry. That is what Season 2 will be all about. Season 1 is where you can find all my poetries. Instagram: @oldschoolbastard It has been a long time coming that we take a step forward and proceed to other platforms. Here is a start! I would like to give a special mention to all those poets who have been featured in some of my work esp. Faiz Sahab, Faraz Sahab and Amir Ameer Sahab.
Recalling one of my oldest anecdotes from what now seems like a previous life/dream. I bring a random rant for all of you titled "feeling dump 106".Aaj bhi apne kamre me maine har us cheez ki entry band kar rakhi hai, jo mujhe dikhai deti hai....kaash aisa hota ke tanhai bhi dikhai deti.... - Jai Singhfollow me on Instagram : https://www.instagram.com/oldschoolbastardMusic: Winter Aid The Wisp Sings (intended for fair use only)
presenting another mehfil mix of Tum Itna Jo Muskura Rahe ho sung by @paponmusic (originally sung by Jagjit Singh Sahab). This nazm by Ahmed Faraz sahab used to be my train read at one point of time and since then has had a very visual impact on my thinking. I always visualise two characters who are constantly trying to prove to each other that they are happy forgetting that happiness doesn't need provingOriginal Song (Intended for fair use only)
I have been thinking for a very long time to recreate one of a Ali Sethi's songs into a Mehfil mix. Presenting one of his iconic songs “Haal Aisa Nahin” with a few original couplets by Adeem Hashmi “sar-e-sehra musafir ko sitaara yaad rehta hai, main chalta hoon mujhe chehera tumhara yaad rehta hai”. There will be more that will follow. I would like to begun this new series with the song of my favourite singer. Heard this song some 7 years back and have been following @alisethiofficial work since then. Could not find the original video of the song but I know how it looked like and was beautiful
It has been years since this ride actually happened but I realised that I have never really told this story to anyone yet. So here is a detailed version of the story split into parts. In this first part I tell you all real events from a third person perspective and I hope you guys like it. After all it was minus 27 degrees and I almost died.Music Courtesy: Ralf Illenberger (intended for fair use only)Follow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/oldschoolbastard/

Sometimes we can't really fathom the effort we have to put in to convince someone. The question remains why do we have to convince someone in the first place? My first attempt at writing Erotica. However, this is not the original draft of the same. The original draft will forever remain in my diary for a selective audience. I don't have the courage to put it out there, Follow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/oldschoolbastard
One of the poetries of Amrita Ji that is very close to my heart and had to narrate this for you all.Music: B SIvaramkrishna Rao Narrated by: https://www.instagram.com/oldschoolbastard/
It sounds very fancy especially when one starts to garner compliments for their writing. That is exactly when one should be careful with what they are writing; as it can be very easy to lose track. Writing demands a lot and its all about perception and depth. Rhyming comes later! Let me explain... Follow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/oldschoolbastard
I just popped on live to talk about something. This is as real as it gets
I am writing about Pakhi after 4 years today and what a nostalgia it has been. I have never seen Pakhi as a form of literary perfection instead I have always thought of it as Emotions of a Turbulent Mind. This autobiographical anecdote is nothing but a pure unfiltered free flowing river of nothing but raw emotions. Hope you guys like it.My Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/oldschoolbastard

just writing a letter with my address on it. Just in case someone comes looking for me after I am gone. I have written everything here and I hope, one day someone does. Hopeful to the point of hopelessness and as beautiful it is, is also the most dangerous.Written and narrated by: @oldschoolbastardFollow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/oldschoolbastard/

It is very important to forgive certain people in life in order to move on. I have been going through some changes in my life where I have to take some steps. This is me taking a few steps towards forgiving certain people. Ronaldinho and Pamela Anderson by no means should be related to my personal life. Song: Chhan Kitthan by Ali SethiPoetry that talks about the beauty of long-distance which most of our generation fails to abide. We as a generation have a lot of trust issues but what if? we could manage writing letters at least. The problem here is that social media has made everything very accessible that somehow is not working in the favor of loveWritten by: AnonymousNarrated by: Nitin Jai Singh Siwach Follow me on Instagram : https://www.instagram.com/oldschoolbastard/
Diary is written by Gulzar Sahab and describes the basic human struggles in the rawest form possible. It talks of guilt, struggle, and hope. Isn't that how most of us are? Struggling to give voice to our emotions. Here is an attempt to do justice to one of my favourite nazm by the living legend. The sheer beauty of Gulzar sahab is how he relates the most basic observation of our day-to-day living with the most complicated emotions.Music: B. Wrote this one night when I felt something that, if put into words will take me a lifetime to make sense. Sometimes, I can't fathom how my mind functions. I am not sure if the mind is the right word that should be used here. I have been going through some subconscious changes where I can predict the future. I felt really unsafe that night; I knew something was coming. Boy, I was right, it was a night of happening. It wreaks havoc tonight. That night I woke up looking for a home and as fate would have it, I felt something that I had not felt before. For once, I knew where my home was and I was freaked and my home was too.
A poetry by Amir Ameer that fits in so beautifully on Bol Na Halke Halke by Shankar Ehsaan LoyMy Instagram: @Oldschoolbastard
I have been thinking of doing this for a very long time and I have dumped the idea more times than one. I only thought that since I am starting a new podcast. It is very important to maintain utter transparency with my listeners. I have tried to tell you about the important chapters of my life. I have left out on a few things. I have reserved them for a later time.I hope you guys like it and use this as a form of inspiration for the times when you really need one. This is specially dedicated to all those who have difficulties dealing with their mental health. Trust me when I say "It is okay to not be okay"; but you have to be okay with that.Love,Jai SinghMusic: The Way There | Hreidar
Something that I had written long ago. Although it is incomplete. I plan on completing this pretty soon and bringing it out in front of all of you.
It has been an absolute joy creating this poetry for the world and more importantly for myself. I wanted to share the idea behind the making of Cigarette. This has been one of the most complicated yet most soulful works that I have created so far.Music : Andrew York
Although having spent countless nights wondering as to how different things could have been, had I made some different choices in life. This is a vivid description of how multitasking looks like in my world.
I am far from home and our oldies are on the streets fighting for their rights. We have to raise our voices. Every human has the right to rightfully fight for their fundamental rights.
Ever thought, what happens when two people separate? do they unlove or do they still remain in love, wishing well for each other? Here is the answer
Sometimes I wonder, what if I never had the vision to look beyond? Will, it still be so beautiful or it is actually so beautiful to every eye around.
A beautiful nazm written by Amrita Pritam Ji based on the Indo Pak Partition. The least that the partition could have done was to divide the land; the worst it could do was to divide hearts.
A piece that has always stuck by me all these years. This has to be very special for me. Thank you Amrita Pritam Ji for giving us this.
it was one of those nights when I was missing my dudu a lot and that's when I thought of her love story that I have lived through ages.
ever needed a hug? AA hug so tight that it makes you feel so light, your shoulders drop and your head leans in? That!!!! Here is one for you!
Inspired by real-life, I try to bring forward the blunt emotions that I have been feeling for quite some time now.
A cigarette is sometimes a metaphor for something in the bigger picture. This poetry is very special for me as it perfectly describes, how I used to feel someone used to push me to talk during my mental health crisis.
have you ever left something special for something more materialistic and then got nothing?
A cross over that I guess is very apt considering how in today's world, we flip flop with our love interests.
sometimes i fantasize how will I meet the love of my life in the morning and this is precisely how it is going to be.
A tribute to one of my favourite movies: RockstarYour Heart is all you need and all you have.
