BUFFALO, NY- June 4, 2024 – A new research perspective was published in Oncotarget's Volume 15 on June 3, 2024, entitled, “Bruton's tyrosine kinase inhibitor-related cardiotoxicity: The quest for predictive biomarkers and improved risk stratification.” In this new perspective, researchers Jai N. Patel, Jai Singh, and Nilanjan Ghosh from Atrium Health discuss Ibrutinib — the first Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK) inhibitor approved for the treatment of patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). “While producing durable responses and prolonging survival, roughly 20–25% of patients experience dose limiting side effects, mostly consisting of cardiovascular toxicities like severe hypertension and atrial fibrillation.” While clinical predictors of BTK inhibitor-related cardiotoxicity have been proposed and may aid in risk stratification, there is no routine risk model used in clinical practice today to identify patients at highest risk. A recent study investigating genetic predictors of ibrutinib-related cardiotoxicity found that single nucleotide polymorphisms in KCNQ1 and GATA4 were significantly associated with cardiotoxic events. If replicated in larger studies, these biomarkers may improve risk stratification in combination with clinical factors. “A clinicogenomic risk model may aid in identifying patients at highest risk of developing BTK inhibitor-related cardiotoxicity in which further risk mitigation strategies may be explored.” DOI - https://doi.org/10.18632/oncotarget.28589 Correspondence to - Nilanjan Ghosh - nilanjan.ghosh@atriumhealth.org Sign up for free Altmetric alerts about this article - https://oncotarget.altmetric.com/details/email_updates?id=10.18632%2Foncotarget.28589 Subscribe for free publication alerts from Oncotarget - https://www.oncotarget.com/subscribe/ Keywords - cancer, BTK inhibitor, cardiotoxicity, biomarkers, risk, genetics About Oncotarget Oncotarget (a primarily oncology-focused, peer-reviewed, open access journal) aims to maximize research impact through insightful peer-review; eliminate borders between specialties by linking different fields of oncology, cancer research and biomedical sciences; and foster application of basic and clinical science. In this episode, I have another great conversation with Jai Singh. Jai joined us in episode 61 and here we have a second conversation about conscious fatherhood. Jai is a men's coach who works with fathers on their relationship with themselves, their partners, their kids and their sense of purpose in life. His work is inspired by his own humbling and growth-inspiring experience with marriage and fatherhood, and from seeing how deeply but silently most men struggle through the journey of fatherhood. He began offering coaching in 2016 and started running men's groups specifically for fathers in 2019. He is based in Richmond, Virginia in the U.S. and runs online and in-person men's programs. In this episode, we talk about how to support fathers to bring more self-connection to their parenting journey, whilst they navigate the stresses and challenges of parenting without the support that we evolved to rely on. He shares how fathers can bring more awareness of the full range of their emotional experience in order to be able to identify and meet their needs more, so they have more capacity for the emotional storms of parenting. We talk about the need for support for us all on the parenting journey and how to support men to feel safe to be vulnerable. In this episode, Jai shares some of the challenges of fatherhood and how mothers can best support their partners to come on board with conscious parenting. We discuss how parenthood is an incredible opportunity for growth and healing and the impact of our childhoods on how we respond to our children. The FTSE 100 has started 2023 on the front foot, following Asia and Europe higher in early trading to reach six-month highs of 7,600 points. This is despite a report by economists in the Financial Times which stated that the UK is predicted to experience one of the worst recessions among the G7 countries in 2023. In company news, festive favourite Hotel Chocolat is having another crack at the Japanese market, signing a new strategic partnership agreement with Tokyo-based Eat Creator Corporation. Over in the US, Elon Musk's space exploration company SpaceX is said to be raising US$750mln in a new round of funding. That would value the rocket and satellite company at US$137bn. And among the small caps, Challenger Energy says almost all exploration acreage offshore Uruguay has been sewn up, which is a boon to its early mover advantage in the area. This report was written by Jai Singh and presented by me, Thomas Warner. #ProactiveInvestors #ftse100 #invest #investing #investment #investor #stockmarket #stocks #stock #stockmarketnews
The FTSE 100 has risen in early trading today, reaching fortnight highs of around 7,530 points. That's despite fresh ONS data today showing that the UK economy shrank by 0.3% in the third quarter. And the choppy economic surf continues to keep that downward pressure on house prices. A new forecast from property website Zoopla this morning suggests UK house prices will fall by around 5% in 2023. Over in the US, former FTX boss Sam Bankman-Fried has arrived in the US to face charges after agreeing to be extradited from his bolthole in the Bahamas. The 30-year-old agreed to be extradited earlier this week. Among the small caps, ImmuPharma is targeting the next clinical stage for its lupus treatment, Lupuzor, in 2023. And staying in the realm of biopharmaceuticals, OKYO Pharma has received FDA clearance to initiate a Phase 2 study for its dry eye disease treatment. That's all for this morning, today's report was written by Jai Singh and presented by me, Thomas Warner. #ProactiveInvestors #FTSE100 #invest #investing #investment #investor #stockmarket #stocks #stock #stockmarketnews

The FTSE 100 hit three-week lows of around 7,450 points at the open. Actual attendance in the City today is likely to be pretty low as people struggle to make it following heavy snowfall, but there's still plenty of news out there. The London Stock Exchange itself announced a strategic 10-year partnership with Microsoft to provide various data-related services. The ONS revealed this morning that the UK economy defied expectations by actually growing in October, increasing by half a percent. But house prices continue to slide, with the average asking price dropping 2.1% last month, according to data from Rightmove. Among the large caps, Ryanair will have to pay compensation to passengers whose flight was delayed by strike action in 2018. The UK court of appeal has determined that strike action by airline staff does not constitute an 'extraordinary circumstance' and, as such, affected passengers should be entitled to compensation. And in small caps, Poolbeg Pharma said it completed the first clinical trial for its new flu jab with no severe adverse reactions reported. Today's market report was written by Jai Singh and presented by Thomas Warner. #ProactiveInvestors #FTSE #LSE #invest #investing #investment #investor #stockmarket #stocks #stock #stockmarketnews
I have been thinking for a very long time to recreate one of a Ali Sethi's songs into a Mehfil mix. Presenting one of his iconic songs “Haal Aisa Nahin” with a few original couplets by Adeem Hashmi “sar-e-sehra musafir ko sitaara yaad rehta hai, main chalta hoon mujhe chehera tumhara yaad rehta hai”. There will be more that will follow. I would like to begun this new series with the song of my favourite singer. Heard this song some 7 years back and have been following @alisethiofficial work since then. Could not find the original video of the song but I know how it looked like and was beautiful

A squabble over plunder realized from an attack on the kingdom of Jammu creates a rupture between Maha Singh Shukerchakia and his mentor Jai Singh, the Kanhaiya patriarch. After Jai Singh insults his protégé and threatens him, Maha Singh conspires with Raja Sansar Chand and Jassa Singh Ramgarhia against the Kanhaiyas. Jassa Singh Ramgarhia, Baghel Singh and other Sikh chiefs launch raids across the Yamuna River, almost to the borders of Awadh, which is under British protection. This brings them to the attention of Madhaji Scindia, who sees them as a threat to Delhi and considers forming an alliance with them. After the raid, Jassa Singh Ramgarhia returns to the Punjab and joining hands with Maha Singh and Raja Sansar Chand attacks the Kanhaiyas. The brave son of Jai Singh Kanhaiya, Gurbaksh Singh is killed in battle and his wife, Sada Kaur moves center stage, picking up the reins of the Kanhaiya Misl from her ageing father in law, who is devastated.

Diary is written by Gulzar Sahab and describes the basic human struggles in the rawest form possible. It talks of guilt, struggle, and hope. Isn't that how most of us are? Struggling to give voice to our emotions. Here is an attempt to do justice to one of my favourite nazm by the living legend. One of the most exciting episodes in the life of Shivaji was his Escape from Agra where Aurangzeb had kept him prisoner. This episode gives an account of that Dramatic Escape. SHIVAJI, the leader of the Marathas, was at war with the Mughals. Enraged by many defeats, which Shivaji had inflicted on his forces, the Emperor Aurangzeb decided to crush once for all his growing power in the Deccan. He sent against him a large army under two his ablest commanders, Jai Singh, the Raja of Jaipur and Diler Khan, a Mughal nobleman. The emperor's soldiers met with immediate successes in this campaign. They captured fort after fort and laid siege to Purandar, where the Maratha put up a long and gallant resistance. At last, Shivaji thought it was wise to agree to the terms of peace. He was forced to surrender most of his forts and was allowed to retain only a few for himself on condition of service and loyalty to the empire. It was also proposed that he should visit the imperial court at Agra. Shivaji hesitated in the beginning, but finally yielded to the persuasion of jai Singh, who gave him solemn promises about his personal safety in the court of Aurangzeb. He proceeded to Agra with his son Sambhaji and a band of some followers, however he was tricked and prisoned. Melvyn Bragg and guests discuss the Observatory in Jaipur with its vast and beautiful instruments built to make astronomical measurements of the stars. Commissioned in the early 18th century by the Rajput prince and child prodigy, Jai Singh, it was at the centre of attempts to marry hundreds of years of Indian and Persian astronomical tradition. The Observatory was also at the very centre of the city which was laid out according to astrological principles. Jai Singh's observatory was the cutting edge of Indian astronomy but also a repository for aeons of Hindu and Islamic intellectual life. The instruments were extraordinarily accurate for the time but used no lenses and were built of masonry, not metal. They helped to develop astrological tables, immensely important in Hindu Society, and come down to us as a record of Indian astronomy on the cusp of colonialism. With Chandrika Kaul, Lecturer in Modern History at the University of St Andrews; David Arnold, Professor of Asian and Global History at the University of Warwick; Chris Minkowski, Professor in Sanskrit at the University of Oxford
