Today I am at the CanConnect2019 Conference in Niagara Falls and I am giving a presentation on how to use podcasting in the classroom. Anne Treschak volunteered to be interviewed and took the time to share her passions about education. She also wants everyone to make it out to Beamsville District Secondary School to see their presentation of Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory this weekend.

I was walking through the lobby of the hotel and heard my name being called. It was Stephen and several of his colleagues from Northern Ontario. We have been Twitter friends for some time and this was our first chance to chat face to face. I also thought it was a good time to interview Stephen and have him share some of the great things going on in Northern Ontario.

CATC by the Water is a WRDSB Professional Development retreat for teachers to work with other teachers to develop and refine good pedagogical practice. My second interview at CATC by the Water was with Jamie Reaburn Weir (@msjweir) who is the Head of English at a High School in Cambridge Ontario. Jamie explained to me her passion about collaborative learning.

At the end of the first day of CATC by the Water I caught up with Donna Miller Fry (@fryed). We spoke about technology and education. As well as how the world is changing and that as educators, we need to be looking at ways to prepare students where Info Tech is going to be very important.
On July 13, I participated at our local Twitter Chat #PubPD. There were 14 of us discussing the value of coding in schools both "IRL" and on Twitter. One of the people I had the opportunity to speak with was Alanna King. I asked her 3 questions and she shared with me her passion on participatory culture and critical thinking. This week I met with Sarah Bowler at Waterloo Collegiate and I asked her about her love of physical education and how we can motivate our students into adopting a healthy lifestyle.
For my first interview, I met with Scott McKenzie at a local diner. Scott is a teacher with the WRDSB and I asked him questions about what he finds important in Primary Education.
