Anthony e Joe Russo são diretores de cinema conhecidos por seus trabalhos em diversos filmes da Marvel e nos concederam essa entrevista de lançamento do seu filme The Electric State.
Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universesLast week, during an interview with Brazilian pop culture and media YouTube outlet, Omelete, to promote their new film, The Electric State, Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars directors, Joe and Anthony Russo offered insights on how the upcoming pair Avengers of films differ from their previous multi-phase, saga-concluders: Infinity War and Endgame; describing the duology as a “new beginning.” Joe Russo went on to reiterate the real motivation for the creative duo returning to the franchise after leaving on an all-time high more than 5 years ago. In a double dose of DC casting news, sitcom vet Jason Ritter has joined the cast of Lanterns in a recurring role as Billy Macon, a ‘good-looking charmer who does his father's bidding, clings to his small-town ego and has everything to lose.' Elsewhere, The Penguin actor, Colin Farrell has entered negotiations to replace Daniel Craig as the titular sergeant of Luca Guadagnino's Word War II film, Sgt. Rock.Despite the release of several new genre films, last weekend's domestic box office was notably slow – at an approximate $54 million total, sluggish enough to earn the title of 2025's worst box office thus far. Paramount's R-rated action comedy, Novocaine, starring Jack Quaid, took the top spot with $8.7 million, slightly below expectations. Meanwhile, Mickey 17 suffered a 60% drop in its second weekend, barely managing to stave off Steven Soderbergh's spy thriller, Black Bag, with hauls of $7.51 and $7.5 million, respectively. After more than a year of speculation, Apple TV+ has officially ordered a fourth season of its Emmy-winning comedy Ted Lasso. The pickup comes after co-creator and star Jason Sudeikis closed a deal to reprise his role as the titular character. Disney has released the first official trailer for body swap comedy reunion sequel Freakier Friday starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan. The film hits theaters on August 8th, 22 years after the original. Conan O'Brien, who hosted the 97th Oscars telecast on March 2, has agreed to return and host the 98th Oscars telecast on March 15, 2026, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced Monday. CBS has also announced that comedian Nikki Glaser will return in 2026 to host the 83rd annual Golden Globes.More than a year after Warner Bros. shelved Coyote vs. Acme for tax incentives, independent distributor Ketchup Entertainment is reportedly nearing a deal to acquire the film for around $50 million. Ketchup recently handled the theatrical release of The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie, which has earned $3.9 million since its March 14 debut.Columbia Pictures is plotting a new Starship Troopers movie, tasking District 9 filmmaker Neill Blomkamp to write and direct an adaptation of the classic sci-fi novel story by Robert A. Heinlein. The Hollywood Reporter has learned “zero progress” has been made on Saw XI since writing partners Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan turned in a draft back in spring of 2024. Speaking on the project, Melton said “The reason it's held up is just, there's inter-squabbling between producers and Lionsgate. They just can't quite get on the same page.” A24 has released the first trailer for romantic feature film Materialists starring Pedro Pascal, Chris Evans, and Dakota Johnson. The film hits theaters on June 13th. Netflix has released the first trailer for Adam Sandler-led sequel Happy Gilmore 2. The film begins streaming on July 25th. Darren Aronofsky is in talks to direct Netflix's Cujo, a remake of Stephen King's classic horror novel about a vicious St. Bernard. The project is still in early development, and sources say Aronofsky has yet to hold creative discussions with Netflix. If the deal goes through, this would be his first feature film for a streaming platform.
You’re definitely going to want to check out the new release from LaMP entitled One of Us out now wherever you listen or buy music. For the uninitiated LaMP features drummer Scott Lawton and keyboard player Ray Paczkowski famously of the Trey Anastasio Band and guitarist Scott Mezger who has been toiling with Joe Russo’s Almost Dead amongst other side projects. Together, the trio puts out very cool jams that play off of their improvisation chops and decades of playing a range of music styles. While the tunes all start out with a groove Russ Lawton provides, they grow organically as the other two musicians colour in with their instruments over top. Together the trio amass tunes that are eclectic yet very much recognizable as LaMP tunes. I caught up with Russ Lawton to talk about where things are at with LaMP and of course we discussed the very compact yet thorough One of Us an album worth getting into your ears soon. Here’s how the conversation went. First song: Nice Girl Second song: Jasper's World See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

On this week's episode, Sonny Bunch (The Bulwark), Alyssa Rosenberg (The Washington Post), and Peter Suderman (Reason) discuss Joe Russo's war on Harvey Weinstein (but not for the reasons you might think). Then they review Black Bag, a movie that makes marriage look fun. (Kinda. Depending on the fun you like.) Make sure to swing by Friday for a bonus episode on how to resurrect movie marketing. The Film Buff's Saturday Night Message: WATCH THE ELECTRIC STATEThis Saturday night, The Film Buff is bringing you an important PSA:
It's a Pi Day miracle: We recorded these reviews in the same place at the same time for the first time in a long time. Five years, to be exact. And it was so nice to be together again at Alonso's apartment on this rainy day in LA. We begin with "The Electric State," an empty, ugly, $320 million action extravaganza from longtime MCU directors Anthony and Joe Russo. It's a retro-futuristic, post-apocalyptic story set in the '90s, after humans and robots have gone to war. The ridiculous cast includes Millie Bobby Brown, Chris Pratt, Stanley Tucci, Anthony Mackie, Brian Cox, Jenny Slate, Ke Huy Quan and Woody Harrelson as Mr. Peanut. Yes, you read that right. Streaming now on Netflix. We were also disappointed with "Opus," about a legendary pop star who invites a group of journalists to his remote retreat to listen to his first album in three decades. It's an A24 horror movie, and it feels awfully familiar. It also features an impressive cast including Ayo Edebiri, John Malkovich, Murray Bartlett, Juliette Lewis and Amber Midthunder. In theaters now. And over at our Patreon, we recap the latest episode of "Daredevil: Born Again" on Disney+. Thanks for sharing some of your time with us -- we'll try to do this in person again soon! The Film Buff's Saturday Night Message: WATCH THE ELECTRIC STATE This Saturday night, The Film Buff is bringing you an important PSA:
The Russo Brothers are back with another film... and it's, yet again, another straight to streaming one. Since Avengers: Endgame, the Russos have not been producing the most critically-acclaimed hits, to be nice. Cherry on Apple TV+ was critically panned, The Gray Man received mixed reviews and a lot of their other produced content, like the Citadel universe, was destroyed online. Now, they've devised to go back to the MCU to direct the next two Avengers movies... but until then(!), we've got a $300M+ Netflix movie to enjoy! And those have a great track record, don't they? Don't forget as well, this time the Russos have the writers of all three Captain America movies and the Infinity War/Endgame double feature along with them. Find out whether The Electric State is a return to form for the Russos in this review! The Electric State:Directed by: Anthony Russe & Joe RussoScreenplay by: Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeelyBased on the book by: Simon StålenhagProduced by: Chris Castaldi, Thiago Da Costa, Mike Larocca, Patrick Newall, Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Angela Russo-OtsdotMusic by: Alan SilvestriCinematography by: Stephen F. In an insightful discussion on the "Tales from the Green Room" podcast, Reed Mathis provides host Dennis Strazulo and listeners with a detailed preview of his upcoming podcast series “The Gifts of Improvising” which debuts January 29, 2024 on the Osiris Media Podcast Network. Reed opens the door to a new, profound exploration of the role and challenge of artists as they navigate improvising the music of their heroes and legends, analyzed in detail during discussions with fellow musicians throughout 12 introspective episodes. Reed delves into the dynamics of the jam band scene and the authenticity of spontaneous musical creation. Previously connected with iconic projects like Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey and Tea Leaf Green, and with artists including Steve Kimock, Billy Strings, and Bill Kreutzmann, Reed shares the conception and evolution of his podcast with refreshing candor and excitement - describing it not merely as an exploration of improvisation but as a spotlight on the reenactment versus innovation debate within music. Listen as Reed challenges the norm of merely quoting musical heroes and urges a portrayal of personal truth through music. The essence of his message is about fostering a space where musicians are encouraged to "play themselves," offering a raw reflection of their true, creative essence rather than adhering strictly to established templates. The soon to be released series features an impressive roster of musicians, each bringing their unique experiences and insights to light, including: Joe Russo, Marco Benevento, Steve Kimmock, Adam McDougald, and Jay Lane taking a deep dive into musical philosophies and personal anecdotes that reveal much about these beloved names in music.“The Gifts of Improvising” also includes a touching homage to Phil Lesh, featuring reflections from Natalie Cressman, Elliot Peck, and Grahame Lesh - a moving tribute to Lesh's indelible impact on both Mathis's own career and the broader music landscape. Enjoy this discussion as Reed muses about the art and joy of truly improvising in anticipation of his podcast release.Linkshttps://www.instagram.com/reedmathis/https://www.facebook.com/reed.mathis.5/http://www.youtube.com/@reedmathis4623https://www.osirispod.com/podcasts/ MusicLazyLightning55a YouTube Channel: Reed Mathis' Electric Beethoven - 10/26/16 - MP WilliamsburgPhoto by Stefanie Atkinson Schwartz
