What I’m Obsessed With Now is a podcast about all the things that fascinate us, taking an intense interest in a variety of obsession worth subjects. Coming up are subjects on conspiracy theories, dogs, psychology, body farms amongst many more.
Episode three of the modern psychology series and another episode of What I’m Obsessed With Now. This episode leaves the feuding Freud and Jung, as we look at behavioural psychology. We will talk a look at Pavlov and his dogs, James B. Watson the father of the field, Harry Harlow the monster and my personal favourite BF Skinner. These theories are interesting and resonate with the world I see around me, I think you’ll find it just as interesting. A fascinating field, and a great way to end our look at modern psychology.
Episode two of the modern psychology series and another episode of What I’m Obsessed With Now. Following on from last weeks episode on Freud, we look at his protege and frenemy. We look at archetypes, personality and the collective unconscious, whilst also getting to know Carl Gustav Jung a bit more. Jung’s theories are interesting and you will see them everywhere after listening to this episode. A fascinating man and his ideas, check it out and let me know what you think.
Episode sever of What I’m Obsessed With Now, and the first of the introduction to modern psychology. Do you wonder how and why we think? Well you have something in common with Freud. This series is looking out how modern psychology got started, and Freud is the Granddaddy of the field. Today we get to know Freud, his theories and others who were important to psychoanalysis. An interesting subject even if his theories are disputed. I think you’ll be amazed by how many theories and terms have made their way into common use. I think you’ll be fascinated by this journey into the world of Freud. So put some rubber souled shoes on, we don’t want any Freudian slips.
Christmas is a special time of the year, for kids and those who like to eat and drink way to much. In this special episode we look at where the Santa myth came from, the history of Christmas Carols and why Rudolf is my favorite reindeer. So if you want a Christmas episode with dead kid, drugs and beat boxing, this is the one for you. Get the tinsel out, throw out the eggnog and get a proper drink as we head to the north pole. I hope you enjoy this festive episode and have a great holiday period.
Batman is the best superhero, and whilst I’ll have a conversation about who you think is the best, you will be wrong. In this episode I take you through the three main reasons why Batman is the best superhero. Address the money issue, and that issue is he is stupidly wealthy. And I have a conversation with Tristan, because comic characters are best shared with others. Even though Batman is a super hero, and some people view them as trivial. To many, me included, they are examples for something so much more important. I’ll cover that in this episode. So buckle your utility belt, things are about to get dark…dark night that is. I hope you enjoy this batman conversation, and I hope my wife is able to accept the love of I have for another man.
This the fourth and final episode of our Conspiracy Theory mini series. But don’t fret there will be more to come, next week is the dark night. To conclude our mini series we will look at not one, not two, not….five we have five conspiracy theories to look at. We will look at an old favourite the moon landing, did we actually land on that big rock wizzing around the solar system? Then we look at two musically themed conspiracy theories, that the great Paul McCartney died and an imposter took his place. Then the theory that the King, Elvis Presley faked his death. To round our the episode we look at two utterly crazy conspiracy theories, Lizards and flat earth. Are we controlled by alien lizards hell bent on world domination on a flat earth. Tune in to find out. NO! But its fun to look at these. I hope you enjoyed the Conspiracy Theory mini series. There is more fun to come so make sure to subscribe and don’t forget to let me know what subject you’d like me to cover.
