: Episode 1657 - On this Saturday show, listener Brent Budgor joins Vinnie to talk humorous Twitter advice, Brent's lifestyle and bike collection, Vinnie's cycling origin story, and more. Https://www.vinnietortorich.com/2020/08/humorous-twitter-advice-episode-1657 PLEASE SUPPORT OUR SPONSORS BRENT'S STORY Brent found Vinnie through the Adam Carolla show. He liked what he had to say, then found his Twitter. As Brent began to learn more about Vinnie, he realized he was so true to what he was saying. Vinnie's a genuine guy, he thinks! Brent hasn't ever really had a weight problem. He's 5'5" and throughout his life his weight has fluctuated+/- 10 lbs. However, he is NSNG about 80% of the time, goes for walks and does stretches every day. He also cycles. He enjoys the history of bikes, ultra cycling events, and following along in the world of cycling. Brent finds he still is learning things every day – you learn to get more efficient, get better power strokes, better breathing, etc. Brent has 20 bikes. They're all steel. Some he's restored, some he got as is. He has all different countries. HUMOROUS TWITTER ADVICE Vinnie's sense of humor, which is also a bit out there, was another draw from Brent. Brent counts how many times a day Vinnie says Jesus. H. Christ on Twitter. He thinks the record right now is 9 in one day. Vinnie imported a shortcut to get it up there faster. Vinnie does give a lot of (free, of course) advice on his Twitter. The answers are succinct. If you have a quick q, shoot it to Vin on Twitter or scroll through his feed to see if he's already answered it. He tries to get through as much as he can each day (which is usually quite a lot!). You can also see some of the crazy things some crazy vegans send to him. FAT DOC IS OUT Go watch it now! We need people to buy and review for it to stay at the top of iTunes pages. Brent Paschke was co-founder of Spymob and is best known as Pharrell Williams’ guitarist, having worked with Pharrell since 2001. Brent was introduced to me by Linda Helms, who is a friend of Brent’s. Brent says that, “Music was just in me.” He knew the first day he got a guitar when he was about 12 years old that playing guitar is what he wanted to do with his life. He was always drawn to art and music, so he understood kids who struggled with school. As Brent got more into production, be began to see a lot of kids wanting to be in production, but there wasn’t much available in the schools. So, Brent started Tuniversity, to teach how to use an iOS device and the Garageband app to deconstruct and reconstruct songs. Brent says that the computer is really the instrument these days and he wants kids to be able to tap into music because you can really find yourself and learn how to express yourself through music. He says, as we get more comfortable with music, it is better for us. Brent also does a lot of mindful meditation, which parallels with playing music. Music provides such life lessons, he says. You can learn to forgive mistakes and yourself through music; it teaches you to be present, just like mindful meditation. “That’s life; it’s all about being present, forgiving, loving, caring. It all lines up with music, it’s all in synch with music.”

Brent Johnson, CEO of Santiago Capital, has come up with a unifying theory of what's been going on in the financial world for the past decade. It's called the Milkshake Theory. As Brent explains it, central banks responded to the 2008-09 Crash with unlimited liquidity to keep the world afloat. Unfortunately, once the toothpaste is out of the tube, there's no way to get it back in. And all sorts of unintended consequences happen. Art and real estate prices soar, consumer prices stay low and gold gets crushed because the stock market takes off for the moon. And how about Bitcoin? You see what he's getting at. And there's lots more ahead.
