Two witnesses with very different vantage points took the stand this week in the Lindsay Clancy trial — one clinical, one procedural, both consequential. Clancy, 34, of Duxbury, Massachusetts, faces three counts of murder and three counts of strangulation over the deaths of her three children — Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 7 months — who prosecutors allege she strangled with exercise resistance bands inside the family's Summer Street home on January 24, 2023. She's pleaded not guilty, and her attorney, Kevin Reddington, is arguing an insanity defense centered on severe postpartum psychosis and psychiatric overmedication.Sgt. Robert Flynn of the Duxbury Police Department testified he was present when State Police executed the search warrant at the home, and told the court there was no damage to the window or screen — a detail that's going to matter a great deal to anyone tracking the physical evidence around Clancy's alleged fall. Flynn confirmed State Police took over the investigation after that.Forensic psychiatrist Dr. Jhilam Biswas described her initial assessment of Clancy, focused on evaluating her safety and state of mind. Biswas told the court psychosis symptoms present differently from person to person, but said that during the roughly 20 minutes she communicated with Clancy, she observed no signs of active psychosis.Clancy is accused of attempting suicide after the killings, leaving her paralyzed from the waist down. Her husband, Patrick Clancy, was running errands at the time and has since relocated to Manhattan. She faces three counts of murder and three counts of strangulation, has pleaded not guilty, and her attorney, Kevin Reddington, is mounting an insanity defense built around severe postpartum psychosis and psychiatric overmedication.Plymouth Superior Court Judge William F. Sullivan opened the afternoon by reading stipulations both sides had already agreed to on the children's toxicology results — the kind of procedural moment that saves the jury a fight over numbers neither side disputes. Then came the science. Alicia Zimmermann of the Massachusetts State Police Crime Lab walked the jury through how toxicology testing actually works when the person who died is a child, a process built for adults and adapted, carefully, for the smallest bodies imaginable. GRAPHIC TESTIMONY @ 00:36-4:12 In today's testimony, jurors heard from doctors who treated Callan and Cora,  then trauma ICU nurses about Lindsay Clancy's critical condition after she was transferred following the January 24, 2023 incident.The nurses described Lindsay arriving at the ICU as critically injured and considered a self-harm risk. Shortly after arrival, Lindsay suffered cardiac arrest after her blood pressure dropped. Medical staff performed CPR, administered medications to support her blood pressure, placed chest tubes, and began blood transfusions.The testimony covered the severity of Lindsay's injuries, including spinal fractures, a thoracic spine injury described as a transection, rib fractures, thyroid swelling, blood loss, and wounds to her wrists and neck. As everyone is well aware, healthcare, particularly acute care (think: hospitals) has become increasingly more unaffordable. For the four-year period ending next year ERISA or employer-sponsored health insurance plans will increase employee premiums by ~25%; this year the average employee family premium is ~$27,000; by the end of this year six million are expected to lose ACA coverage; and, to really on one's surprise a recent survey found less half of Americans, regardless of income, believe they have the ability to pay for needed medical visits. The answer seems to be legislating hospital price transparency. Earlier this month both the House Energy and Commerce and the Senate Health, Education Labor and Pensions (HELP) committees passed price T bills out of committee. At our Testimony & Thanksgiving Service, Pastor Femi Paul, launched us into a new season with a powerful prophetic message titled "Remembered by God!" Drawing from Esther 6 and the story of Mordecai, we were reminded that although his act of loyalty had gone unnoticed by men, heaven had not forgotten. At the appointed time, the king asked, "What honour and reward has been given to Mordecai?" revealing that God's timing is never late. Building on Isaiah 49:15–16, He assured us that while people may forget us, God never does. Our names are engraved on the palms of His hands, and every promise concerning our lives remains continually before Him. The message continued through the life of Joseph, who was forgotten by the chief cupbearer for two full years until the day God orchestrated his remembrance. What others had delayed, God accelerated. The cupbearer suddenly remembered what he had failed to do, Pharaoh sent for Joseph, and in a single day his story changed forever. PFP declared that this same God still remembers His people, bringing long-awaited promises to pass at the appointed time. The prophetic charge for the month was clear: this is the season to be remembered, rewarded, and called forth into God's prepared purpose. Confession: Lord, thank You because You never forget Your children. Though others may overlook or delay me, I rest in the confidence that my times are in Your hands. In this appointed season, remember me for good, reward every labour of love, and bring me into every opportunity You have prepared for me. I declare that my season of remembrance has come, and my life is changing for the best. In Jesus' name, Amen.
