Kathryn interviews cardiologist Barbara H. Roberts MD on her book “The Truth About Statins: Risks and Alternatives to Cholesterol”. Despite the rosy picture painted in the ads of a miracle cure for high cholesterol and its attendant heart disease, the reality of taking statins may be far less pretty. Roberts discusses both the benefits and health risks of these popular drugs. Roberts is an associate clinical professor at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University and director of the Woman's Cardiac Center at the Miriam Hospital in RI. Kathryn also interviews high fashion model and transgender activist Gisele “Xtravaganza” Alicea. During her modeling career Gisele has worked with such professionals as Patricia Field, Patrick Demarchelier, Terry Richardson, Danielle Levitz and many others.
