Hear from Robbie Brennan, Eoghan Frayne, Conor Duke & Jordan Morris on full-time at Glenisk O'Connor Park in Tullamore after Meath beat Kerry on a scoreline of 1-22 to 0-16.After leading by 6 at the break, it was a disatrous start to the second half for Meath as Cathal Hickey picked up a black card just 15 seconds into the 2nd half for a cynical pull back following the throw-in. Dylan Geaney knocked over two in quick succession, but by the time Hickey returned, The Royals still held 5 point lead, at 16 points to 11. A pair of fine two pointers from Ruairi Kinsella & Conor Duke extended Meath's lead to 7 with just 15 to play. Not to long after Meath stalwart Bryan Menton goaled for the Royals to open up a 10 point lead, which proved to be unassailable. Meath will now have significant break before the All-Ireland quarter finals at Croke Park.Kerry on the other hand will have to settle for a home preliminary-quarter final next weekend.

On today's episode I have comedy writer and comic book writer, Jordan Morris! I have been following Jordan's career for a number of years now since I first saw him on @midnight and became a fan of his comedy, and have been intrigued with his career as I followed along. It was great to finally have Jordan join me on the show to talk about how he got his start writing comedy and built his career.  I talked with Jordan about growing up and discovering comedy and the likes of Kids in the Hall and MST3K, finding community with other genre fans, getting his start into writing comedy, working on @midnight, working on the Jim Henson Company show Earth to Ned as well as Great Mythical Morning, getting his start in writing comics with his graphic novel "Bubble", which was nominated for 2 Eisner Awards, his graphic novel "Youth Group", the evolution of Archie comics and writing Chilling Adventures, writing the new "Web of Spider-Verse: New Blood", and the new "Godzilla vs. LA" comic that releases next month to support LA fire relief.  A huge Thank You to Jordan for taking the time to join me on the show. Welcome in for another edition of the Morning Espresso from the SDH Network, brought to you by Oglethorpe University, Atlanta's premier undergraduate learning experience and soccer powerhouse. Disappointing/frustrating draw for Atlanta United against the New York Red Bulls on Saturday night at the Benz. The visitors did not test Brad Guzan at all in the match, but Atlanta was unable to take advantage of 5 big chances in the first half and some very strong play.  Miami comes to town next weekend, they managed to beat Charlotte while playing with 10 for the majority of the match yesterday. Lionel Messi was an unused substitute yesterday, mainly due to the way the game played out with the first half red card to the goalkeeper Oscar Ustari followed by getting the lead and then defending deeper. Charlotte did not manage a shot on goal in the match.  Philadelphia and Vancouver remain perfect with three wins in three tries this season. Ryan Gauld left the match for the Whitecaps in the first half with a non-contact knee injury though, which is a massive concern for them.  Seattle throttled LAFC 5-2, Jordan Morris became the club's all-time leading scorer, Paul Rothrock starred in the win, but Pedro de la Vega left with an injury in the first half. The Sounder next go to Mexico, where they haven't won in their last 7 tries, to face Cruz Azul in the second leg of their Concacaf Champions Cup Round of 16 matchup after a scoreless draw in the first leg.  Kansas City has lost 10 straight in all competitions (plus 6 preseason losses) after a loss in DC on Saturday night. They lost 10 straight during the 2024 season as well, and lost 10 straight to open the 2023 season, and had a 7-game losing streak in 2022. When will things improve for SKC? When will they improve for Portland as well? James Pantemis made two penalty saves in the first 20 minutes but the Timbers still lost 2-0 in Nashville.  The LA Galaxy lost their 4th straight to open 2025, 2-0 at home to St. Louis. Marco Reus has not been the Riqui Puig replacement Greg Vanney hoped for, and they're missing Dejan Jovelic as well, and now they have to get a win against Herediano to advance in Concacaf Champions Cup. The Premier League Summer Series is coming back to Atlanta on August 3rd. Another huge crowd is expected at Mercedes-Benz Stadium for Bournemouth vs West Ham followed by Everton vs Manchester United. More than 20 soccer games at the Benz this season are on the books and crowds will exceed one million for the year by a pretty wide margin.  Real Madrid pulls even with Barcelona at the top of La Liga. The Blaugrana did not play over the weekend, as their match was postponed followed the unexpected death of a team doctor.  Milan rumors heating up the tabloids in Italy with meetings to hire a new sporting director expected shortly and that could lead to a new manager hire in the summer.  Other nuggets included in the podcast.
